Raiders-Browns blacked out

The Raiders-Browns game is blacked out, so it will not be televised locally, a team official said.
The Raiders needed to sell at least 85 percent of the tickets for the game to be considered a sellout and, thereby, televised locally.
This snaps a string of 13 straight regular-season home games televised locally, dating back to the start of the 2011 season.
Given the Raiders record, it’s difficult to envision them selling out against the Chiefs on Dec. 16, either. The Thursday night game against the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning has a decent chance of selling out.

Even McDaniels got almost two full seasons. We need to give him next year. Now if we’re in this same position 12 months from now, then yes, you look at a change. But you have to both give your current guy a chance and show future candidates that you gave him that chance.

as i stated in the pre season carson palmer will not be enough to sell tickets if the team is 3-8, 3-9 or the like.
Big mack must now find a way to generate buzz for the team. part of his job is to make certain the raiders have a marketable product.
how can he do this?

I can’t help it, I will watch damn near every minute of it.
Maybe this week we won’t get cut out of the Mix station, which shows all the games at once, like last week.
What a slap in the face that was!!! At least normally I can leave the audio on the Raiders game, and watch some other football for a minute.

TP6 or Draft Teo and trade for Tim tebow. Say what you want but at least Tewboy is a playoff winner.
DA should really thank TEBOW for his coaching gig too. Broncos were 1-4 before Tim came in and starting controlling the game with with the run / read option.
20th ranked defense wasnt like elite or anything.

TEBOW / TE’O new raiders. All the buzz back on the raiders. Mark/ REggie want and need marketability and BUZZ.
DA was a decent DC with TEBOW controlling the game and went to the playoffs. DA should thank tewbow for getting him on the map cuz they were 1-4 b4 tebow.
I see NFL defenses still cant defend the READ OPTION. RG3 is crushin em with it. Kapernick too. TEBOW last year

you have missed the point and that is untrue.
If a player has been inactive all season and the coach intends to place him on the active roster it usually involves a conversation.
The players on the active roster DO need the game plan as there is a chance they will play. Im not saying allen has to have one on one film study with him. Yet the norm is the coach tells the player that he is going to activate what his role will be and what to prepare for.
That is just basic and is common place in every nfl city

However once announced as a stater will generate at least curiosity and give a reason to watch. if he plays well that definitely could create additional ticket sales.
promotion is not about selling tickets for one game but long range thinking is required instead.

Just had a thought: Make him active Sunday, and put him in on punt and kick coverages. If he refuses, they can suspend him for the last four games, and not even the union could object.

I despise the raider coaches and would normally say give them more than one year. But lets be honest, they are the worst team in the nfl, from middle of the pack to last in one season. If they dont want a reputation of being a one and done organization when it comes to coaches…TOO BAD, YOU FIRED HUE AFTRT ONE SEASON, you already have that reputation. So please give me another excuse why these inept over their heads coches should not be fired.
If its talent that made this team bad, well last time i checked they got rid of a lot of players and mcckenzie was such a great evaluator of talent. He hasnt brought in one player, his draft picks arent very good and he didnt make any trades worth a crap. Again, from middle of the pack to last in one season.

Any concerns that if we let Lechler go, Jano will struggle? I don’t think Shane has lost it, just don’t think he recovered well enough from that knee surgery. I’m also not sold on Marquette King. He had some good punts but also some bad line drives in preseason

being 1-4 before tebow raised all of their profiles. You need someone creative and willing to LET TEBOW PLAY as a starter though. Cant have knapp here.

11/17/12: Te’o is having a tremendous senior season despite dealing with personal tragedies. He had eight tackles and two interceptions against Michigan, as well as forcing an interception by hitting the Denard Robinson as he threw. Te’o racked up 11 tackles against Stanford and did reasonably well defending gainst the Cardinal’s receiving tight ends.
Te’o totaled 12 tackles and two passes broken up to go with a fumble return of eight yards versus Michigan State and power runner Le’Veon Bell. Te’o made a lot of tackles in run defense and was superb against the pass in zone coverage. He was snuffing out short passes throughout the game and doing well to tackle receivers quickly after the reception was made.
Te’o has really improved his pass coverage in 2012 and helps his stock as a three-down linebacker. He hasn’t had a bad game all year. The senior has totaled 92 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, four passes broken up and six interceptions this season

Te’o has the skill set and experience to start immediately in the NFL. He has the size, speed and tackling technique to be a three-down linebacker. The senior has the athletic ability to function on third down and get deep in the middle of the field.
Te’o has nice blitzing ability and closing speed as a pass-rusher. It is clear that he has the instincts for the position. Plus, Te’o is versatile for the next level; he has the bulk to be an inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense and the speed to play middle linebacker in a 4-3. As long as Te’o stays healthy, he should produce another quality season to be a safe first-rounder in the 2013 NFL Draft. “

The Team that moves to LA has to give AEG $500million or 30% percent of the team. Mark Davis can’t afford either right now. Plus since AEG runs the Oakland Coliseum they are not allowed to talk with the Raiders until after the 2013 season is over about moving to LA. The Raiders can talk with another coperation with another site in LA. But Oakland has a no-poaching clause with AEG.If Farmers Field is the site of NFL in LA, it’s unlikely the Raiders can move to LA. Now if the LA NFl site is at the City of Industy, or next to the Dodger Stadium, thats a different story.

fair enough, I get that. I support the new regime, I hope they succeed, I realy do. but let’s be honest, to date, this year hasn’t gone well and it’s not all on the players. A lot is, but not entirely.
I won’t judge next year by W-L, moreso how the Raiders play. IE., do they compete? do other teams like playing them? Even if the talent level is still lacking, is the work level evident? Are they sound technically? At this point for the Raiders, that’s what has to get focused on as we build depth and our skill level.
A bunch of new players, everyone buying in, DA has a year of experience under his belt, I’m hoping will see better results and the slow momentum of a turn around begins for us.

I will say this about Tyrann Mathieu. Raiders need playmakers in the worst way on D. Ya he smoked.. So did Randy Moss and Tim Lincecum. You just gotta tell him to chill on that ish.
Raiders brought in a bunch of Front office guys suppose to mentor these players. Reggie took a chance on Brandon Underwood who did 3x worse then Tyrann.
Ya he is 5ft 9 175 pounds.. but he could add 15 pounds to his frame. Brandon flowers is a pro bowl player and not that big.
JOSELIO HANSEN has been playing well for the Raiders. In two years of play Tyrann did it all. PUNT RETURNER, INTS, 11 forced fumbles and was a HEISMAN FINALIST.

I know Goodson’s had some good plays. I’d rate him as 2nd best in terms of “production” for the year. But trying to explain DMAC’s struggles to the defense taking him away every game is too much. “Whose #45? He’s lined up in the back field. Don’t pay attention to him. He won’t do nothing.”
I personally thought DMAC might have toned it down because he felt the pressure to make it through an entire season healthy to prove his durability. Obviously trying to be something he’s not; which is safe and conservative…..

Tyrann is 160 pounds, and never played much man defense, and when he did, he wasn’t very good.
He is not an option in any form to play defense in the NFL.
But, I think he can be a Pro Bowl, Devin Hester type kick returner.
I would draft him in the 6th round. If we had a 5th round pick, I would say that as well, but we schlepped it off for Pastor Curry the Penalty machine.

College football live said he was last weighin in at 177 in the spring practices. He can easily get to 190. No doubt he will bulk up.. He is not DVD gonna stay at the same weight. TYRANN is not afraid to tackle either.. he gonna be going at them ankles. He had no problem taking down Cam Newton when he was at Auburn

I believe SI’s article on him won’t do him any favors, so maybe he could fall to the 6th round for us.
Basically painted him as a guy who went to a nice prep school, and was raised middle-class after moving into his aunt and uncles at 12 or something like that, but insisted on being a thug, still hangs around a bunch of dudes who think they are rappers, and promoted a nightclub event with said rap group recently that was all about doing X that night at the club.
Also said the rumors he checked into rehab at about 160 pounds. Hasn’t lifted weights in a year since he is banned from LSU facility.

I’m afraid this infamous Reggie “presser” will turn out to be a toal yawnfest.
One HUGE thing I haven’t seen talked about here is that the rules committee is going to seriously look at banning the “cut block’ which is an important staple of the ZBS.
If that’s true, then all the work and reasoning behind blowing up what was a decent offense in lieu of shoving this ZBS down everybody’s throat will have been for naught.
Including the acquiring of players to fit said scheme.

Now that the Raiders where starting at the twenty yard line or beyond on kick off returns last week the next step is to get more positive yards on punt returns. This dancing around stuff after catching the ball should disappear unless the Raiders coach think they have a devin hester back there. Show some improvement some where else and think the Raider Nation can start to feel abit mor positive. My dissappointmnet is more aimed at Reggie than Coach Allen because he should have done what was best to keep the Raiders competitive this year. So coach Allen ,if it is baby steps the Raiders are after special team improvements are a good way to start.

As I posted earlier the Raiders may very well be pulling a Lance Kiffin or Mike Vick and trying to get some of their money back. It now seems painfully apparent that McClain was PURPOSEFULLY doing nothing out there and being insubordinate. I don’t know if he is going to another NFL team any time soon.

Hey Mark, Time to whack the front office starting with GM “Spuds” then the coaching staff, then the players. Number #1 Crybaby Palmer, Heyward-Bey, The whole defense including McClain especially Seymour. Flip this, the whole organization needs to be under the microscope!!!! I’m still Raiders $ Life, but the current product, I got to hold by nose, DUDE!
