Pryor will be active, Seymour out, McFadden game-time decision

By Steve Corkran
Friday, November 30th, 2012 at 4:12 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen said he envisions second-year quarterback Terrelle Pryor being one of the 46 players active for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
Defensive tackle Richard Seymour (hamstring), defensive end Jack Crawford (toe) and linebacker Rolando McClain (suspended) will be among the seven players inactive for the game, Allen said.
Running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson are questionable as they continue their quest to return from high-ankle sprains suffered Nov. 4. Allen said both players will be game-time decisions.

– Allen said the decision to suspend McClain was his, though he consulted with general manager Reggie McKenzie.
Beyond that, Allen said he intends to keep to himself the details of what precipitated the two-game suspension.
“All I’ll say is that I met with Rolando this morning and informed him that I decided to suspend him for two games for conduct detrimental to the team,” Allen said. “That’s really all the details I have for you.”
When pressed, Allen said:
“I’m not going to get into any of the specifics of anything that happened, that went into the decision,” Allen said. “That’s team-related matters. We’re going to keep that within the family.”
McClain’s roster spot won’t be filled this week. Allen said he will decide whether to add a player for next Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos.

– Quarterback Carson Palmer (thumb) took all the reps with the first-team offense today, and he is good to go for the Browns game, Allen said.
It remains unclear whether Pryor will get any action against the Browns and, if so, in what capacity.
Matt Leinart is the primary backup, with Pryor the No. 3.
“He needs to start getting some, what it feels like to suit up on game day and we’ll see if we play him in the game,” Allen said of Pryor.

    Ignorance is bliss…

Al ran a terrible org that won 3 SBs, played in 5 SBs, and he is a HOF owner/ GM.

  • Priesttj12

Raider O no need to argue man some people can’t see past their nose. They are predisposed to believe a lie.

    BHP,

I don’t get it. How many owners/ GMs are in the HOF? How many teams have 3 rings? They act like he was the worst GM/ owner in the NFL.

  • raiderfankirk

Looks more and more like we should have kept Hue, and brought in a defensive guy. Say what you want about Al, but he always kept players he wanted and made it work. There is no excuse for this regression.

All this crap and we played in a SB in 2002.

  • hwnrdr

Al is Al! He was the Maverick of the NFL! Did things his way more than Frank Sinatra! And I believe he was starting to getting the ship righted! RIP!

  • raiderfankirk

Anyone notice just how much more man coverage is being played around the league lately? Guess Al was just insane, huh.

They know better it’s just bitter hatred that would allow someone to blame a man who’s been dead for over a year for what we saw in the past 4 games. Simple utter ignorance and hatred………..period

I haven’t seen any team look that bad in 4 straight games. And then a dead man get the blame……….lol

  • Raider Riff

    Priest,

Just shut up boy. Dr Roberts already sent you packing with your weak analysis of Wiz. He stomped you so bad you left quietly last night and have ignored it today.

Give it up. Youre done here. Zero credibility whatsoever.

  • raiderfankirk

    Why be a dic?

  • Priesttj12

They’ve been playing a lot of man for a while but I do see what you mean. When the TB Bucs went to man I knew something was up. Next the Steelers are starting go more to man D. Now if that didn’t tell ya’ something.

Guys their is just a culture in here that has become almost a parallel universe it exist only in here.

Everyone talks about Al’s incompetence of being horrible “for a decade”.

Yes. It sucked. Darkest period in Raider history, but…it was really only 7 yr’s…then we had the consecutive 8-8′s. History will not put an asterisk on last yr’s 8-8 and cite “Palmer playing near his home in La Jolla” or say ‘but the games were close and Raiders had a weak schedule.’

I want to get behind DA….i have no choice he’s our coach and i’m rooting for him but we need to start to see something even with our current roster.

No more beatdowns. Not acceptable imo.

  • walrushooker

Big Reggie supporter but thought that he waited too long to hire a head coach and DA was hampered getting assistants he really wanted. I’ll evaluate DA once the season ends and he makes decisions on his coaching staff.

The scariest thing in the Reggie Q&A was that, with Palmer on the roster, he said he didn’t have quality leaders on this team. Obviously, he doesn’t like slowlando, but that comment speaks volumes on his thoughts of Palmer. I’ve always liked CP3, but after that comment, I may be buying into the time for Pryor group.

Reggie has spoken before about Palmer’s leadership. In all fairness, I think he was speaking about the dirth of leaders in other areas outside of the qb.

“Say what you want about Al, but he always kept players he wanted and made it work”

Huh? He did? Outside of the Gruden turnaround, Al saw to it nothing worked after the LA Raiders last won the SB.

Worst thing Al ever did was move the team to LA. While he had talent there for a while, there were repercussions throughout his business model from which he never recovered.

shutdown…wierd handle with this zone defense….

  • raidertalk

“Scouting” potential playas for the Raids in the ALabama Georgia game. Gotta say I’m rooting for Georgia after are recent troubles with their alum (McTwitter).

That John Jenkins DT guy looks big enough, but not impressing as much as Suh did in College.

P.S. Although Bama’s in my dog house, that Lacey guy looks like a bruiser at RB, we need one of those in Silver and Black…

So Pryor will be active this game but no clue whether he’ll get in. Based on what Reggie said, Special Teams still needs improvement. Pryor is a great athlete and supposedly has a great work ethic. No better way to prove yourself than to get in there on cover teams and make something happen. This would be a great way to convince that kid that his contributions will be greater as a non-QB, with the possible exception of some gimmicky wild cat stuff.

It’s difficult to parse Reggie-speak, but I didn’t read it that way. I read that he was calling out CP3 as an example of bringing in newer guys that show leadership where the old guard is failing.
