Statement from Raiders on Chiefs tragedy

The Oakland Raiders are empathizing with the Chiefs organization. Our hearts are wounded by such an unimaginable tragedy in our NFL family. We will continue to pray for everyone involved.

    Good Morning Nation!!!
For all those going to the game…be safe out there! There are cars being towed this morning out of puddles! Freeways are bad! Again….be SAFE out there and I will see you all on Thursday night!!!

    Good Morning Nation!

One thing that won’t change today…

Is my love for my Raiders!

Hope we show some heart today.

  • DJ Johnny

    Hey Miami.

What will you be happy with today?

Is it enough to just keep it close, or do you need a win?

  • Chico,

Ansah is an athletic freak. I want players with potential and production. One OK year (5 sacks) is not enough to consider him in the 1st 2 rounds IMO. I would draft him in the 3rd but not over guys like DE Brandon Jenkins or RB Michael Dyer.

  • DJ Johnny

Are we to the point where we actually would view “keeping it close” at home to the Browns would be a “moral victory”?

  • Sabah al khair habibi.

I want us to lose to get a higher pick.

  • Bcz has left the bait. Let’s see who takes.

That child should be raised without any mention of the father and say enough, the mother as well. Imagine knowing your dad killed your mom and then killed himself. That’s a head fauck right there. It should be handled as an adoption case.

    Unimaginable.

  • BTW, in case anyone didn’t notice, Mark Davis just usurped McKenzie by going directly to Dennis Allen and chewing him out. This likely means McKenzie will be gone after this year. Great. Mark is like dad after all.

  • Draft RB Michael Dyer in the 4th!

  • lol. Inside The Raiders Blog/Child Protective Services forum.

Is this the same Michael Dyer that was dismissed by Auburn and AK State, if so no thanks, I’ll take a flyer on him in the 5-7 rnd, same goes for Matheiu.

Fantasy football question. I need to pick one of the following for a flex spot:

    – Denarius Moore
    – Brandon Myers
    – Or I could plug in Miles Austin, who is questionable, and if he can’t go I can put Martellus Bennett in.

I’m leaning toward one of the Raiders, and probably Moore, but I’m wondering if the weather conditions make Myers a better play and if the conditions make both guys unplayable. Any help?

  • I would go with Myers. I expect a pretty conservative offense today.

  • JAVON BELCHER grew up in a nice part of Long Island. Sure as heck wasn’t inner city culture that influenced his behavior.

Zero evidence that either Reggie and DA are going anywhere. Mark and DA TALKED on a plane ride. That’s it. No doubt they’re angry about a long of the same things, including underperforming players and incompetent assistants. Many changes are coming this season, but all at coordinator and position coach level.

  • Mark is acting like his dad, usurping a GM he just hired and micromanaging. No wonder we’re losing.

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

    Same one.
I would draft him in the 4th, but I rather draft him in the 3rd over DE Z Ansah.

Agreed. Need to use lower draft picks on higher risk developmental players.

  • Duck, when Mark hired McKenzie he said he didn’t want anything to do with football operations, hence hiring McKenzie. Now he’s chewing out coaches? Face it, he’s becoming dad, and it’s only the beginning. No wonder the team’s losing.

  • A Browns employee killed himself yesterday at their facility too. What the hell is going on?

The Playing field is below sea level…so it’s gonna be soggy ….
The TE and RBs should see lots of action today……Moores been having a hardtime when the field is dry staying on his feet….

  • Per PFT, a Browns employee hung himself in the team’s equipment shed yesterday morning. WHAT IS GOING ON???

  • ABP beat me to it, I see…

  • Unchecked mental illness. Reality t.v. tells us it’s ok to be crazy. You’re just “being yourself”. No intervention.

  • Maybe this has something to do with the world ending in 3 weeks.

  • Chris in NY

One other issue is, according to ESPN, Browns give up 2nd-least points to TEs, and are 28th in giving up points to WRs. How bad are the conditions? I just read that there are like 40 MPH winds now (impossible to throw in) but they should die down to nothing by gametime.

I don’t think Mark chewing out coaches is the reason we are losing. The reason we are losing is because we have subpar players in every position (with the exception of little Wiz, Veldheer, Palmer, and Wheeler).

  • Chris in NY

Thanks guys. I’ll prob go with Myers.

  • It’s also worth noting that Goodson will probably start today, while “Beast” Campbell is again inactive for the Panthers…

  • And right wing politics aren’t helping, either. People upset about re-election of president, talking crazy, perhaps about killing people. Their republican friends enable them by saying “You have every right to be mad! Our country’s being ruined”, etc. Pushing unstable people right over the edge.

  • Goodson isn’t going to start. It will most likely be Reece.

  • Raiderbuck

winning now will just confuse the issue.

  • And…the person we’re relying on to draft our way out of this personnel mess has just been usurped by the owner, who hired him to run football operations yet just chewed out the head coach he hired.

I hate to make generalizations, but I would have a very difficult time believing that Belcher was angry about the election outcome.

  • What is a GM?

What is the point of a GM if the owner is going to take an authoritative stance with people the GM has hired? The GM does the hiring, firing, and chiding of the people in the sector they supervise, which in the case of a NFL GM is football operations. McKenzie should be the only one chewing out anyone in the locker room. Mark should chew out Reggie and nobody else. If Reggie’s not getting the job done, you replace him with another GM.

    ============================================

    Oh, for the love of…

Look. Owners and coaches do talk sometimes. It’s not forbidden. Whichever Rooney currently owns the Steelers probably talks to Mike Tomlin every now and then. Doesn’t mean their GM’s on the way out.

  • Belcher was from a rich part of Long Island, Raiding Texas. There are a lot of black Republicans.

I think that is somewhat of an exaggeration. It seemed like Reggie was in on the conversation.

  • When hiring Reggie, Mark said he didn’t want anything to do with football operations. Said he doesn’t understand it. That’s why he hired Reggie. Now he’s chewing out head coaches? I’m sensing a trend here.
