McFadden looks ready to roll Thursday

Running back Darren McFadden is running around at practice today without any lingering effects from the high-ankle sprain that forced him to miss the past four games.
Coach Dennis Allen said he expects McFadden and backup running back Mike Goodson to play Thursday night against the Denver Broncos. Goodson also has missed the past four games with a similar injury.
Defensive tackle Richard Seymour (hamstring) is not practicing once again, and it appears as if he is about to miss his fifth straight game.
Defensive end Jack Crawford (toe) is back at practice, as are safeties Matt Giordano and Mike Mitchell. The latter two suffered concussions Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
Cornerback Phillip Adams also suffered a concussion against the Browns. He was not cleared to practice today.
Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp was quite vocal in presiding over practice today in place of head coach Dennis Allen, who is in Dallas with his family. Allen’s father Grady passed away Monday night. Allen is expected back with the Raiders on Wednesday night.

Aldon Smith might just break the sack record this year.

Meanwhile the leading Raiders pass rusher is Shaughnessy with a whopping 3.5 sacks. Pathetic.

    1. DE/OLB – Dion Jordan
    2. DE/OLB – Corey Lemonier
    3. OT – Kyle Long

    Cut and Print.

    ———————————————–

Auburn gave up a school-record 671 yards in the 63-21 home loss to Texas A&M, but Lemonir is a couple of sacks away from Auburn’s all-time top 10. – He has to work on disengaging from blocks…Jordan is a good pick.

    —-

Lemonier has a little DeMarcus Ware in him..

We need that off the edge BADLY.

    =======

need a 3-4 look, Bilukidi ok at nose, but who are the 3-4 ends? Re-sign Desmond Bryant, or look elsewhere for Randy Starks or another that specializes in that.

looking more like a full scale rebuild – esp with Seymour and Kelly likely gone.

    —-

The thing is being able to be 34 or 43..

    Bryant
    NT
    Houston

    Jordan
    ILB
    Burris
    Lemonier

    Jordan
    Bryant
    Houston
    Shaughnessy/Lemonier

    Wheeler
    MLB
    Burris

    Or something.

    —————
Think they’ll take a run at Alan Branch and/or Conner Barwin in free agency to help fill out the defense on a 3-4

then lemonir/Jordan, gaither, wheeler and barwin?

then, they’d still need to pony up for a corner like DRC or Ravens’ Cary Williams,

BTW scouts compare DION JORDAN to ALDON SMITH and freakishly athletic like PIerre Paul.

also Aldon smith only had 5.5 sacks his final year in college..

now holds the record for the fastest sacks in two years. Has like 16 this season already.

Pierre paul.. we already know how he has turned out for a “project” coming out of the draft.

The problem with that, is that the Broncos probably know how to defend the read option, and Pryor ran a conventional offense at Ohio St. and just took off and broke big runs.

Can Reggie and his staff salvage any of the current player ? Who are the players? The ones he salvages is it base on the players talent or on his schemes. Will he sell out on the current talent on team to get scheme players. Example, Woodhead on the patriots VS McFadden?

    ===================

i think Wheeler, Desmond Bryant and Brandon Myers come back.

a LOT of guys contracts expire, including Shane Lechler. – they’ll need like 8 draft picks, 9 free agents – or 5 major ones and 4 mid-level types to come in.

But more than that, they need an identity, and a leader on defense brings that.

CP3 is scheduled to make 15 million next year – Guaranteed. I doubt he’s going anywhere. Just keeping him means A LOT of players are going.

It wouldnt surprise me if they do the opposite and get more offensive weapons – Keenan Allen, Kyle Long, Johnathan Franklin to help him out…then just go the free agent route on defense.

Both of them are really good talkers. It would’ve been easy to convince Reggie that Bresnahan’s defensive schemes were terrible (true in itself), and they’ve just ITCHING for the chance to play in a “real” NFL defense. Heck, they convinced most of US of that.

    Step 2) Hire Jon Gruden

Step 3) parlay the high picks to future linchpins of the team, trading down and stockpiling ballers.

Step 4) Take advantage of the weak schedule based on previous seasons records to sneak into the playoffs

Step 5) use the team’s resurgence to get a stadium deal

Basically Justin Smith gets more credit for Aldon’s sacks if you ask me. ASmith is basically running unblocked most of the time because teams refuse to not double JSmith.
