Raiders-Broncos game televised locally

By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, December 4th, 2012 at 6:50 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders game against the Denver Broncos sold enough tickets to ensure it being televised locally, a team official said.
Therefore, fans not attending the Thursday night game at the Coliseum also will get a chance to see if the Raiders can snap a five-game losing streak and their first look at Pro Football Hall of Fame-bound quarterback Peyton Manning in a Broncos jersey.
The Raiders sold enough tickets to avoid a blackout of local TV for 13 straight regular-season home games before last Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns failed to reach the threshold.
The game will be televised on NFL Network and KGO-TV in the Bay Area.

Pretty sure the Grud-Dawg will love partying on my VIP-only Reggae Party Cruise

A few of the Beeeech Dawgettes – my fabulous collection of totally wasted strippers – already think he’s “fine, dang”, so he’ll definitely score

Jon seems like the kind of Brah who goes bareback on the shorties, but I always keep the yacht stocked with Magnums for her pleasure

Gonna send a quick email to his agent so I can start my marketing campaign, whut whut

I don’t see us carrying Ford next year. He was out enjoying the “life” too much this offseason. I think that’s what led to him being so injury prone. Just not well condititioned. This is the NFL where you have to train 12 months a year. No offtime-playtime. Ford didn’t realize that and he’s probably looking for a job next year. Good luck to him on that.
    ************************
Ford is under contract next year, no reason to cut him loose. He makes peanuts (500k) and he still has value as a returner. Even if he never plays WR the value to the return game makes it worth the half mill. NOW if he gets injured in camp again… well thats a different story
    ===========================================

The roster spot has value. Ford does not.

Have you see 31 run directly into the first guy wear the other color jersey at the 9 yard line repeatedly on KoR’s?

    ET,

    That may be true.

One thing is obvious with Mark- he wants to win NOW.

There must have been a disconnect at the organizational core if Reggie (as has been speculated) was looking at this season as a “throwaway” and fully expected us to be where we are at… record and performance wise. If Reggie expected that, then he didn’t relate it to Mark or else he would not be so incensed at the “regression” he’s seeing.

I think in Mark’s eagerness to see progress sooner than later he may be tsarting to panic a bit if indeed these Gruden rumors are true.

Mark may think he needs to do something desperate to get interest back with this team.

Mark correctly sees Gruden as a definite spark for the organization.

The product Mark has right now with the Raiders is not one that anybody is excited about. There’s no real stars anymore, it is arguably the worst team in football and not a heck of alot of hope; and THIS is the product Mark has to bargain with to potential investors for a new stadium? Plus the first blackout in two seasons to go along with it?

In that light the pursuit of Gruden makes sense.

Probably because the only way Gruden could be coaxed back to Oakland is with the same situation that Holmgren had with the Browns.

Gruden holds all the cards. The only question is whether Mark Davis is dumb enough to give him full control or not.

    ***********

Not sure that it’s that dumb a move. It would be a calculated gamble. Mark Davis’s fortune isn’t what his dad’s used to be in today’s dollars. It’s shrinking if anything and he has a tenuous hold of it as any time that his pops ever had.

On the surface, it looks like a huge gamble. But what seriously does he have to lose? Bringing back Chucky would invogarate the Nation. Put butts in the seats. It would make Oakland taken seriously again. Forget about the tangible benefits or if this is a smokescreen. It rights the ship and gets the franchise back on track toward something.

Something is better than nothing. DA and staff are nothing. The Nation is crying out for something.

This season is over – if the donks don’t put 60 points up on us it’s because they aren’t trying.

Yep. I take solace in the hope that Fox might take it easy on us due to DA losing his father.

    How sad is that?

We know Joe Vitt took it easy when he sent in the 2nd stringers…and the pathetic part is they went right down the field on us and Vitt mercifully took an early knee; otherwise the final would have been 45-17…and probably should have been.

    DJ,

Yep, and his dad wanted to win NOW and did desperate things to try and accomplish it. That didn’t turn out so well.

I posted earlier that the worst thing that could happen is that Mark begins channeling the old man and starts knee-jerking. I stand by that.

I agree that is the sound, pragmatic approach, and i think alot of the fans feel the same way, but there’s always that side alot of the fans have that are sick of waiting for something to be really excited about.

I think the fan base for the most part can be placated if they just see PROGRESSION instead of REGRESSION. A sign that things are looking up and we are getting better.
