Raiders sign FB/RB to active roster

The Raiders filled the vacancy on their 53-man roster by signing fullback/running back Jamize Olawale from the Dallas Cowboys practice squad.
Olawale takes the place of suspended middle linebacker Rolando McClain, who is out until Dec. 10, at the least.
Teams are permitted to sign players from another team’s practice squad provided they place that player on the active roster.
The Raiders expect back running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson in time for Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos.
Good thing, too, for their primary replacement the past four games, Marcel Reece, is hobbled by hamstring and quadriceps injuries right now.

GREG PAPA was just on 95.7 the game talking about this rumor.. Said last time GRUDEN came to Rickeys few yrs ago he had called papa and they all went down there.

Papa said GRUDEN openely talked about coming back to the Raiders and Papa was surpised to hear that.. Papa said Gruden described it as “UNFINISHED BUSINESS” also papa says he thinks Gruden would want to be the signal caller.

Papa then said Of course AL was still in charge, this was before the RAiders played the Redskins in that rainstorm.

in 2009 Al told Greg papa that GRUDEN had called him expressing that he wanted to come back. Jon had reached out to Al this was right before Al hired HUE in 2010. Papa said that HUE was really the coach in 2010.. but Cable had the title.

Greg told AL jokenly .. you would never hire JON back.. and AL said “im thinking about it” Im thinking about it”

Again Greg papa is saying this on 95.7 the game. Just letting u know. I really believe MARK DAVIS is gonna make a strong pitch for GRUDEN

    —————

    Everyone here knows my stance.

I didnt want to get rid of Hue…. but Hue forced his hand and made it so.

I dont want to get rid of DA…. we cant keep changing coaches. We just cant. More is gained with continuity.

But I’ve said since DAY 1…. I’ll gladly support Chucky returning home. Call it irrational nostalgia. Because, lets face it, it makes no sense. If we look at it logically, Chucky wont be the same without Al Davis. They both needed each other.

But I dont care. He’s the best coach we ever had in my lifetime. We never should have traded him. Its time to right a wrong and bring him home. And it just might happen, Mark is a fan just like us and he knows every game will be sold out when we know Chucky is in the house.

Gruden has wanted to come back for sometime, so has Gannon. Get them both in the building and Terrel Pryor on the field and watch this team turn everything around.

I’ll take Luck over RG3. Luck is built for the long haul. A Brady or Peyton type who can sustain a franchise for 15 years. RG3 is a brilliant talent, but relies on his athleticism too much and that always wears down and fades with all the hits he’s bound to take diving for yards. RG3 is much funner to watch and more entertaining. But to me its a no brainer to take Luck over RG3 to set a franchise up for a long run of success.
    ============

    untrue….and very thinly veiled

Luck is nothing like brady or manning, other than his pre snap ability.

Luck is mobile, brady and m,manning are not. luck doesnt have the arm strength of brady or manning. Luck isnt as accurate as those two nor is he the decision maker that those two are. Luck is more like a drew brees.

RGIII does not rely on athleticism any more than any other qb, it is only that his athleticism separates him form 95% of the qbs in the nfl.

RGIII does just as much pre snap as manning and beat teams with his mind first arm second legs last resort.

RGIII does not take a ot of hits out of the pocket, and takes most hits while standing in the pocket to deliver the ball.

Did you even watch the game?

Your take is the classic “he is an athlete” commonly used to take away or discredit the other aspects of his game. thsi si because people dont want to accept that a qb can be worlds better athletically and also be better at the so called drop back aspects of qb play as well.

    typical

Exactly. When all the rumors about the Tenn gig were hot and heavy he did nothing to dispel any of it. Even sported a bright orange tie on mnf cuz he KNOWS people are looking for any secret codes he might be sending out.

He’s a celebrity who no doubt subscribes to the marketing adage that any press is good press.

It was only until an article came out in a Tennessee newspaper saying he had a contract in hand that his agent bothered to squash the rumors; no doubt only because his bosses at ESPN started asking what the heck was going on.

Rebuild the lines in the draft.

    Priority #1

With a strong O-line and strong D-line, you can with marginal talent at the skill positions. Build from the inside out on this rebuild job.

Raids need to evaluate every rookie and backup now to see who they keep going forward. It’s like a dress rehearsal for 2013 TC. Find the holes that need to be plugged and draft accordingly.

    Inside out.

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Silverandblack666

RG3 is running a college offense much like Scam Newton did last year and we see what happened to him once the training wheels are off.

Next year RG3 will be like Cam Newton is this year “struggling”

Now Andrew Luck on the other hand is already running a post Peyton Manning Colts Pro offense so next year he wont struggle as much as RG3.

Look at how many games Luck has won this year in the final minutes he is a far superior field general than RG3 or Scam Newton if you ask me

What’s sad is that we have to hope and pray that other teams and coaches take it easy on us to salvage any semblence of pride or dignity.
