Raiders sign FB/RB to active roster

The Raiders filled the vacancy on their 53-man roster by signing fullback/running back Jamize Olawale from the Dallas Cowboys practice squad.
Olawale takes the place of suspended middle linebacker Rolando McClain, who is out until Dec. 10, at the least.
Teams are permitted to sign players from another team’s practice squad provided they place that player on the active roster.
The Raiders expect back running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson in time for Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos.
Good thing, too, for their primary replacement the past four games, Marcel Reece, is hobbled by hamstring and quadriceps injuries right now.

Actually, wouldn’t you be more mad if you were a Browns fan? Here your team wins it’s first road game in 12 tries and it gets ZERO coverage?

As a Raider fan i might be upset if they didn’t bother to even mention us in a game we won.

I think the lack of any attention on the Cleveland game is more indicative of how both franchises are viewed as unimportant.

How did we get this low…..again?

To me saying you want the Raiders to lose to your most hated rival in the division just so you can go from having a top 10 pick to a top 3 pick speaks to how clueless some are. Sad thing is its gonna be irrelevant since I don’t see the Raiders having a prayer of a chance at beating the Donks no matter how emotionally uplifted they might be.

It’s gonna take way more than a top 5 pick to right the ship. Look at the Patriots, Packers, Giants franchises (Eli Manning excluded)as an example. When is the last time either of those teams had a top 5 pick??Now look at their record the last decade. Look at the collection of Lombardi trophies…Did a light go on in your head??

What this team needs is a flawless draft from rounds 1-7. Reggie cannot whiff on anybody this time like he did last year. In addition, every FA pick up has to be solid, unlike Reggie’s last year’s FA whiffs like Brisiel, Bartell and Spencer.

  • Dakota

If we beat the Donks Thursday night (which isn’t going to happen anyhow) we are still a bad team and they are a better team this year. The only thing that changes is that Reggie has less options to improve the team this offseason.

Not this team. This team is too far gone. If we were losing games against good teams by just a few points, and we looked somewhat competitive, then I would have a different tune….but this team is bad from top to bottom and a win or two will do nothing to change that…so this isn’t about just draft position…..I also want this coaching staff to be shaken up this offseason. I want new coordinators at a minimum.

RG3 is running a college offense much like Scam Newton did last year and we see what happened to him once the training wheels are off.

Next year RG3 will be like Cam Newton is this year “struggling”

Now Andrew Luck on the other hand is already running a post Peyton Manning Colts Pro offense so next year he wont struggle as much as RG3.

Look at how many games Luck has won this year in the final minutes he is a far superior field general than RG3 or Scam Newton if you ask me
    ====================

    1. RGIII is not running a college offense, its the west coast offense. lat i checked wco is a nfl offnese

    2. Washinton only ADDED to shanahans wco the spread option, and triple option using a pistol formation.

    3. newton is not running a college offense its a vertical passing offense.

    4. carolina added zone read to the veritcal offense.

    5. RGIII has the full shanahan playbook, just as luck has the full colts playbook at his disposal.

    6. Cam struggled early but since week four cam has 16 tds against only 5 ints.

Cam is fine and the last 3 weeks he has been outstanding.

trust me no nfl defense has “caught up” or ‘Figured cam out”.

They need guards and a center and an oc that will not rely so heavy on zone read.

Allowing cam to use pre snap audibles is the biggest difference over the last few weeks.

  • Charlie

I posted this earlier today because I think it is relevant.
I think Gruden is a great coach and I saw him work miracles with the Eagles as an OC.
Remember he was 8-8 his first two seasons in Oakland.
It took him three years with a much better start than this mess.
He also focused on building the lines with our high round picks:Darrell Russell, Leon Bender(passed away prior to playing),Stinchcomb, Collins and a third rounder in Jon Ritchie.
    SEE THE FOCUS??
    BLOCKING AND TACKLING.
THE LINES WERE GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN DIVISIONS WITH CAST OFFS at the skill spots like Wheatley, Crockett and Gannon.

If you listen carefully to what Tarver said he also refers to PLAYER ACQUISITION as one of the things that will be done in the offseason.

The coaches have been as professional and cordial as possible in answering the media regarding what we all know.
Our on field talent is way below NFL average at most positions.

As I said coaching stability is what is needed-not instability.

Mr Davis would never acknowledge that he had regressed in his talent acquisition capability.
The coaching churn for the last decade and THE RESULTS speak for themselves.
    NO TALENT NO WINS.
That is why Reggie had to blow up the entire scouting department and buy computers.
It is also why this is a 3-5 year project.
It is also why you could never get an experienced HC to take the job last year. EVERYONE KNEW HOW BAD IT WAS.
AT LEAST WE ARE UNDERWAY WITH A REAL REBUILDING JOB.

  • guest123

    ********

Big assumption. But if we do stick to the ZBS, I agree trade DMC on name value and reputation and see what draft pick or picks we can get.

Look at Alfred Morris. He’s a 6th rounder who put in 1000 yard rushing season. Something McFadden has done exactly once. There’s better ways to spend your money.

    ==========================================

No he isn’t. I told you this. He is running Ault’s Nevada Pistol offense. It is the same offense kapernick ran. It is a triple option offense run out of the shotgun. Ault used a single back, but Shanahan has thrown in a few variations including using a two back spread offense. No one else in the league runs this, and it has been VERY effective. One of the reasons I think the Whiners went with Kaepernick is to install that same offense across the bay. The problem is DC’s will spend all off season figuring a way to stop it.

  • hwnrdr

Ok, O, I get your logic but no Raider fan will want to just get killed by the Donks at home…even though, based on Tarver’s interview that we won’t tsop Manning…he can be stopped, but we got so many holes all over the place…does it matter really where we draft?
