Seymour not playing Thursday, everyone else likely to play

Running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson were at full strength in practice Wednesday, and they are listed as probable for the game against the Broncos.
Therefore, it’s almost a certainty that fans will get their first look at McFadden and Goodson in a game since they suffered high-ankle sprains against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Nov. 4. Both missed the past four games.
Defensive tackle Richard Seymour tweaked a hamstring in the same game. He hasn’t been able to practice ever since, including Wednesday. As a result, Seymour was declared out for Thursday night’s game against the Broncos.
Defensive end Jack Crawford (toe) and cornerback Phillip Adams (concussion) are listed as questionable. The eleven other players on the injury report, including McFadden and Goodson, are listed as probable.
It appears as if the Raiders are as healthy as they have been all season going into a game, including the regular-season opener, when they were missing wide receivers Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford.

– NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will be joined by former Raiders coach John Madden, former Raiders defensive lineman Howie Long and former Broncos quarterback John Elway at a fan forum at Oracle Arena on Thursday afternoon.
The forum will be attended by media and 150 fans selected from among the Raiders season-ticketholders. The event begins at 3 p.m., more than two hours before the Broncos and Raiders play.

– Given Long’s presence at the fan forum, it seems logical that he will be the one lighting the Al Davis ceremonial torch before the game.
The Raiders have not announced who will light the torch. I don’t recall seeing Long at any Raiders practices or games since they relocated to Oakland in 1995.

Even if it is FAKE the response is getting back to the Organization from the fans!! Still a good thing

Do you people remember when we all called the Raiders to voice our concerns over the report that Al Davis was still calling the shots on defense?

Most of you probably were not here back then….

  • Raiderbuck

Taking a wait and see attitude about this crappy a$$ football team would be a complete and utter example of mismanagement. I don’t think Reggie or Mark is that stupid. Things will change, it’s just a matter of how much will they change?

I am pretty sure that after a few hundred calls they finally sent Rob fkin Ryan out at a presser to try and dispel the rumor.

I know you no longer work for the Raiders, but give us an update anyhow Herrera!

I think it would behoove Mark to ask DA back as DC if Gruden comes back to the sidelines. That way Mark won’t eat his contract and considering Gruden’s stature and football acumen, DA would graciously accept the position so he can learn how a real HC is supposed to do it.

  • http://raiders.com Seymour Bush

But to suggest that this guy simply made up this story of his own accord?

Yeah, floundering journalists would NEVER do that.

Yeah if I go from CEO of a company to assistant VP, and I get to keep the same salary, I wouldn’t think twice about it. Same pay, less responsibility, and I get to learn from Bill Gates himself. What’s there to think about.

    From the Onion:

“I feel like the last of a generation,” Raiders wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey(notes) told reporters Friday, stressing how proud he is to be part of a fraternity of lightning-quick but sloppy and stone-handed pass catchers drafted by Oakland who never panned out. “My heart really breaks for all the super-fast kids who can’t catch in college and high school right now. Who will draft and ultimately wind up disappointed with them?” The Raiders announced that at halftime of Sunday’s game they will honor Davis for employing most of the NFL’s talentless speedsters over the past 25 years, with Heyward-Bey, Denarious Moore, Jacoby Ford(notes), Louis Murphy(notes), Arman Shields(notes), Chaz Schilens(notes), Johnnie Lee Higgins(notes), Jonathan Holland(notes), Kevin McMahan(notes), Carlos Francis, Johnnie Morant, Doug Gabriel(notes), Ryan Hoag(notes), Ken-Yon Rambo, Jerry Porter(notes), Dameane Douglas, Olanda Truitt, Raghib Ismail, Ron Lewis, Gary Gooden, Mike Alexander, and Larry Shephard all expected to participate.

This is where the story goes off track: lst off Reggie would not be talking to Gruden. Secondly, Gruden would not be talking about taking a HC job, he would want some say in personnel and total football ops. So, the story has to be Mark Davis approached Gruden about taking a big role in the team even tho he just hired McKenzie 7 months earlier. Which would go against the wishes of his father who built the brand and his fathers hand picked closest advisors.

Or some journalist who few people have ever heard of is trying to make a name for himself. You decide.

    OH SHYYT

95.7 the game Co HOST RICH BUCHER is reporting that these stories are true. When he heard the story break yesterday.. he reached out to his contacts at ESPN and other national guys he established with.

Rick was told these stories are LEGIT… Rick was told GRUDENS represenatives have been in contact with Mark Davis and the raiders.

Rick says it would be strictly HC coaching job and another role. Said Mckenzie would stay on. However the starting PRICE would be at 5 million a year.

Rick doesnt know if the raiders have that much to give. HOwever he said if GRUDEN came back it would be sold out stadiums and new STADIUM.. he would be brought back like a Parade.

Rick said his contacts at espn do say GRUDEN IS COMING BACK TO THE LEAGUE..its just a matter of WHEN

F’n wow. BTW ARKUSH will be on THE GAME at 545.

Gruden might want a HC/GM dual role like bellicheat has in NE

  • Plunketthead

This is not like Tennesee where the coach was fired and they are looking.

This is serious. Just the rumor is enough to affect reg and DA. If there is no truth to it Gruden should have already come out and put a stop to it for the sake of the current coach/gm

So I am inclined to think mits serious
