End 3rd qtr: Broncos 26, Raiders 7

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, December 6th, 2012 at 7:48 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Matt Prater’s 20-yard field goal and a gift touchdown courtesy of the special teams and the offense put the Broncos in charge in the third quarter, which has been a disaster for the Raiders most of the season.

After Oakland forced a Denver field goal attempt despite a first-and-goal at the 1, Mike Goodson elected to return a kickoff deep in the end zone.

He only made it to the 8, and moments later Carson Palmer was the victim of a sack fumble by Von Miller, who blew past Khalif Barnes. The resulting Denver recovery set up a 1-yard run by Knowshon Moreno.

The Broncos later added a 33-yard field goal by Prater to cap a 13-0 quarter and are being outscored 139-51 in the third quarter this season.

Palmers pass went backwards so it was a live ball even if a pass.

Some life – no Pryor now.

Now is exactly the time to play him. He provides a spark its good. He fouls up we move towards the first pick. All good.

  • TerrapinRaider

Last year Mayock was singing the praises of these same players because we were very competitive esp on offense and winning games. Beacuse we are losing, he’s now blaming personnel.

Its not so much personnel as it is the freakin’ lame azz coaching organizing this thing. Case in point, Knapp has been calling passing plays all damn game, reluctant to give Barnes help on VM and etc etc.

Denver is just running out the clock.

you’re taking an emotional short-term view.

    1) Seymour was our best player on D. Who cares if you pay him a bit this year and next. Not like there were better players to spend the money on, or extend.

    2) You’re pointing out he whiffed on ONE MINIMUM SALARY cornerback, when you KNOW he HAD to pick players from the scrap heap because NO top free agents were available or wanting to come here, and NO draft picks are available as trade ammunition. So he whiffed on a guy, while he found starters in FIVE nobodies.

those two things are sooooo un-noteworthy.

Agreed. But again, national guys don’t know the teams inside and out like we do, especially when you r as irrelevant as the raiders. Yes, I am a Mayock fan, so it may seem like I’m making excuses, but I’m not. It happens all the time. National guys say stuff that just sounds ridiculous to us because we know ALL of the history. They only have 3 days, sometimes 2 to catch up. Give him a break.
