Carson Palmer completed 9 of 11 passes for 80 yards, including a beautifully conceived 6-yard left screen for the touchdown, as the Raiders got within 13-7 with 1:59 left in the half.
The drive took 6:33 off the clock and was the longest of the season for the Raiders.
The Raiders took advantage of a spectacular diving interception by Phillip Adams in the end zone when the Broncos appeared poised to go up 20-0.
Denver drove to the Oakland 49 before a Mike Mitchell sack helped force a Broncos punt with 20 seconds left in the half.

Well the frst half went ok. Tarver picked it up with some nice calls on D, Carson is gonna half to play pick free in the second half that first int was a killer as we could be in the lead. They started gashing us in the run game so DA and Tarver must make adj, you know Manning will.

This isnt a whole lot different than the first time we played them. And we know how that turned out.
It’s all in how we execute coming out of the half. 3rd qtrs have been our achilles heel all year.

Regis guys seem to be more ball skills guys. Adams and also Hanson, they are ball hawks with instincts. We know #33 and Huff, they are regular guys probably.
#80 Streater and see #32 Stewart in the future as a main back.
We just need a better OL and OC. Defense will be getting a lot of help via draft and FA.

Picked it up? Tarver had it right from the start. If Branch was a player and Wheeler doesnt get called for holding (within 5 yds of the line of scrimmage) then we start the game off with a pick 6.
Tarver came out with a good plan. We didnt execute. We then got knocked back on our heels. And then we settled down and had a solid 2nd quarter.
Same could be said for Knapp but Im not even going to bother wasting my time explaining.

Not just the two bombs to Streater in the last two games, but a bunch of 20 yard ins and outs.
Everyone assumes Palmer is just a garbage time stats compiler. But it’s not true. Palmer has 148 passing in the first half tonight. He’s averaging 138 in the first halves of games this season and 156 in the second half. Really not a huge disparity.

He maybe, but Palmer should know that and take that into consideration when throwing the timing route. Sucks but true. Like I said earlier I would be happy to be wrong about Carson.
He reminds me of the year we had Jeff George. Look at his stats. You would have thought we were 12-4 not 4-12. The following year George is hurt and we run through scabs and go 8-8 in grudens first year. George gone the next year for Gannon and we are still trying to get back to those days. We need a leader under center and Palmers not it.

Well the frst half went ok. Tarver picked it up with some nice calls on D, Carson is gonna half to play pick free in the second half that first int was a killer as we could be in the lead. They started gashing us in the run game so DA and Tarver must make adj, you know Manning will.

Picked it up? Tarver had it right from the start. If Branch was a player and Wheeler doesnt get called for holding (within 5 yds of the line of scrimmage) then we start the game off with a pick 6.
Tarver came out with a good plan. We didnt execute. We then got knocked back on our heels. And then we settled down and had a solid 2nd quarter.
Same could be said for Knapp but Im not even going to bother wasting my time explaining.

Palmer is way better than you fools give him credit for. He makes a lot of good throws that you guys just take for granted.
Not just the two bombs to Streater in the last two games, but a bunch of 20 yard ins and outs.
Everyone assumes Palmer is just a garbage time stats compiler. But it’s not true. Palmer has 148 passing in the first half tonight. He’s averaging 138 in the first halves of games this season and 156 in the second half. Really not a huge disparity.

#210 is right on. Constant mistakes by every single person on the team. Palmer pick, fumble. DMac dropped pass, missed cuts. Myers bad block. Reece/Barnes false starts. Barnes for strip/sack. Streater drops. DHB bobbles. How can an offense consistently put points on the board with everyone making mistakes? When every player seems to underachieve it’s bad coaching.
The D officially lacks talent and that is why I tend to blame the offensive coaches more. This coaching staff destroyed the best thing on the Raiders, the running game. DMac just isn’t a cut back runner at the LOS.

Palmer is way better than you fools give him credit for. He makes a lot of good throws that you guys just take for granted.
Not just the two bombs to Streater in the last two games, but a bunch of 20 yard ins and outs.
Everyone assumes Palmer is just a garbage time stats compiler. But it’s not true. Palmer has 148 passing in the first half tonight. He’s averaging 138 in the first halves of games this season and 156 in the second half. Really not a huge disparity.

I’ve played just about every sport in my life. I’ve played for GREAT coaches and I’ve played for awful ones. They set the tone. Great coaches always have teams that win or at least overachieve. Lousy coaches have teams like the 2012 Raiders.
There’s a reason Jim Harbaugh has won at every stop he’s been at (San Diego, Stanford, 49ers). There’s a reason Arkansas was a top 10 program under Petrino and then became awful immediately after he was fired.
I can go on and on and on. But I’ll stop there.
FYI, Bill Romanowski said on the radio today that a really good coach can get an NFL team 4 extra wins per season. I think it’s fair to say Romo’s played sports before.

It’s clinical from here out. Raiders had chances, but players dropped passes, threw passes to the wrong team, committed penalties at the worst times, returned kickoffs from 8 yards deep in the end zone, etc.

Coaches may be questionable, but they’re not the ones throwing picks on the goal line. They aren’t killing drives with penalties, missing blocks that allow strip-sacks, bringing the ball out when they shouldn’t.
This new management has not had the chance to clean house yet. And had little chance to add quality players yet.
There’s, maybe, 15 guys on this team worth keeping.
To me, coaches can only do so much. The way I see it, these players are just not capable of doing what they need to do. They’re not physical enough. Does Giordano instill any fear in a WR or TE? He’s your starting safety.
That’s just one example of a player not physically built to be elite. Not big enough, strong enough, or smart enough. We have many more.

A new RT, RG, C, OC, MLB, DE, DT, CB, CB, FS, SS, RB, Future QB (if Pryor isn’t the guy) and a WR with some consistency and we’ll be all set.

Talent wins in this league, but coaches are paid to get the best out of the talent they have. DA and the offensive coaches have failed miserably in that regard.
The defense severely lacks talent. Not one above avg pass rusher on the DLine. Best LB is 4th round rook. Horrible CB’s. I tend to not put as much on the D coaches.

I have a hard time believing that the people who blame coaches have never played athletics at any level. It’s the easy way out when you don’t know.

I have a feeling people blaming coaches have never played any athletics at any level. Our players are jokes. 2nd and 3stringers on any other team. We have a hand full of starters.

However, not true. Coaching matters. It just does.
I’ve played just about every sport in my life. I’ve played for GREAT coaches and I’ve played for awful ones. They set the tone. Great coaches always have teams that win or at least overachieve. Lousy coaches have teams like the 2012 Raiders.
There’s a reason Jim Harbaugh has won at every stop he’s been at (San Diego, Stanford, 49ers). There’s a reason Arkansas was a top 10 program under Petrino and then became awful immediately after he was fired.
I can go on and on and on. But I’ll stop there.
FYI, Bill Romanowski said on the radio today that a really good coach can get an NFL team 4 extra wins per season. I think it’s fair to say Romo’s played sports before.

Raider needs: center, 2 additional quality o-linemen, MLB, DE, DT, 2 CB’s, and a coaching makeover.
