Sure Cam and RG3 are good QB’s coming out of college and showing early signs of success but that’s a product of many things including how many colleges play a pro style offense now days, all athletes in all sports are bigger faster stronger etc.
But to say they are changing the game or “Revolutionizing” the game is just a misuse of the word maybe you should buy a dictionary or something.
When the 2 leagues merged that “revolutionized” the or in 1906 when the first forward pass was legal or they had to start using helmets because 18 players died of head injuries. Those are things that “Revolutionized the game not a QB that is faster than his predecessor that’s just the simple evolution of sport.

Arkush has 31 years in the business. Arkush responed and said his sources are impeccable. Gruden/ Raiders have talked about him coming aboard. Said he never knew Allen was dealing with his father. Said by the time he found out the story already had been leaked.
BUCHER said his sources at espn told him again last night they they have talked.. its been in the pre stages for a few weeks.
Ric bucher called out the local raider writers for being mad at him. He said dont be mad at him for having his sources and reporting on whats has happened.

All of those guys declined fast when they could no longer escape like they used to. Running Qb’s just don’t last in the NFL. They’re great while they’re still athletic, but that instinct to run ruins them when they get older.

You obviously didn’t follow Gannon in Minnesota. I did. Remember, New England drafted him and tried to make him a DB. And Vick was awesome in Philly. No QB in the history of the game could have held up behind that line this season. Vick is the most underappreciated QB in the league and it isn’t even close.

Gannon was excellent in Minnesota.
He got benched for a more marketable pocket QB in Sean Salisbury. Minnesota got thumped in the playoffs as a result.

*** The wave of the future ***
As we all can witness, the NFL is becoming more and more of a passing based game. The rule changes are more and more favorable to allowing the receivers to run free. The “protection” rules are hamstringing the pass rush, giving QBs more time in the pocket for complex routes to develop.
These changes signal the opportunity for a new breed of possession WRs. They tend to be smaller, shiftier, not necessarily fast but quick, have consistent hands, and they use their heads as much as their feet to identify and find the soft spots in the zones. They are a different breed than those getting drafted highly.
We’ve seen some of the early examples of these WR types in offenses that are designed around their abilities. The offenses are getting away from the traditional systems built around physical mismatches and instead focus on intellectual dominance. Guys like Welker, Edelmann, Amendola are showing that in such systems that can routinely rack up double digit catches and be effective chain movers by being mentally ahead of the opposition by a step or two.
Many teams are not seeing the future yet and sticking with their antiquated systems. The Cowboys cut Danny Coale, their 5th round pick this year, who has all the makings for playing in this futre wave mold. Some said he should be changed to punter in the NFL. Pure sterotyping!
Scotty McKnight was drafted and then waived by the same team that didn’t see Welker’s real value, the Jets. This despite him leading Colorado in career receptions. Pure ignorance on the parts of these teams that are holding back the wave of the future in WR!
Other teams, such as the Bengals with Ryan Whalen, are just starting to come around. You’ll see more of Whalen for sure, as he starts to steal attention from AJ Green in coverage.
The Raiders, unfortunately blind to the future, gave up on their chance to tailor their offense to Nick Miller. They, like the Rams that picked him up afterwards, were too stuck in the current, limited thinking. They tried to channel his athleticism into the role of kick returner instead of recognizing his true strengths.
As the league continues to stereotype and bucket players based into the past fits, they are missing these opportunites to be part of the *** Wave of the Future ***
