Just putting all my thoughts into one post here....

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

All the people responding to gun control political-media driven talk are not seeing the forest from the trees, just letting media/politics do the thinking for themselves.

---

quote
In 2010, 10,228 people were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes.

In 2010 8,775 people were killed by firearm of which only 358 were by rifles (ar-15) for example.

But the gun control morons in this country talk about banning rifles. A tragedy occurred today, but lets not act like rifles are the problem. I dont hear anybody talk about tougher alcohol laws
/quote

quote
Does anyone see the irony and complete lack of logic of laws against guns?

There are laws against killing people and yet the person who kills breaks that law without remorse. The law didn’t stop the criminal.

There is a HUGE moral and cultural stigma against attacking and murdering children even among criminals. Didn’t stop today’s NUT job.

What LAW was going to prevent this attack today? This nut job couldn’t buy a gun off the black market? That’s laughable.

How are the laws against drugs working out for us? Brink of bankrupcy if you haven’t been paying attention.

The MASSIVE police state required to enable gun control is NOT the country I want to live in.
/quote

quote
I do feel we’ve become too coddled as a society. Now the slightest thing hurts and offends people and they don’t know how to deal with it. Most of the people who go on these crazy rampages, you can tell they haven’t been through much adversity and can’t cope.
/quote

---

So much naivety and BS going to be posted in this thread by a lot of shallow thinking people (letting media/politics do their thinking) instead of researching and applying logic, and by people who will just parrot catchphrase-like generalizations.

I'm not going to hang around responding to it all. It's depressing to realize the degree people have become reactionary knee-jerkers.

Let it be that what I have stated in my previous few posts can be used as a reply to the thousand shallow postings that this thread will attract.

---

quote
20 little kids GG, 20 little kids....
Just think on the reality of that for a minute & I dare you not to feel the need to throw up.
/quote

You're splintering off on a different tangent. You're focusing on the sadness of the death of 20 children, which has nothing to do with gun control laws. As I explained previously, if a crazy person wants to kill 20 kids via gun violence, in a hypothetical society with tough gun laws, they can still freely purchase guns. Laws do not stop crimes. Laws against particular devices do not stop crimes using those particular devices.

It's incidental who got killed here. Kids, women, men...it's irrelevant to the topic of "gun control."

---

quote
That's a cop out, GG. If you want to make the "legal killer" comparison you need to acknowledge that alcohol can be used safely, even if it frequently abused. Guns have one function.
/quote

Guns can and have been used safely in society. In America, using those stats I posted....there were 8,000 deaths by guns, and only 350 by high-powered rifles. There are tens of millions of guns and high-powered rifles in legal and non-legal ownership in the USA. That means guns were safely being used 99% of the time, by 99% of the people in gun ownership.

Repeat...it's against the law to drink and drive. There were still 10,000 deaths in the USA in 2010 by drink-driving.

Gun control laws are a red-herring BS cop-out political/media agenda.

Raider (since 1967)

★★★★★★★
Hi Cork! You know I often ask myself why is there not a Contract quote that say -we( Raiders) will make contract payments according to games played in the (season).
Full season payments of player contracts will be void if player doesn't comform to contracts.
Therefore Richard Seymore plays 6 games -we pay him for 6
Games!

Tighter Gun control doesn’t solve the problem of crazy people or violent people. Timothy McViegh pulled off the biggest domestic attack with the exception of 9/11, neither used guns.

In Mexico, no pistols larger than a .380, 38 super, 38 special (Revolvers) are allowed. Doesn’t make them any less safer when it comes to gun violence.

^^^^^^^^
Making it harder for nut jobs and or any other person to purchase a gun legally is needed in this country.

Plain and simple.

Nothing wrong with making it harder to buy a gun...legally that is.

Greg Papa said Hue Jackson was the real coach in 2010 which is why he had the job in 2011.

Cable is a good motivator tho. He is not a HC

I watched a show last night called panic 911, crazy show. Some guy had two handguns and was walking down his neighborhood and killed bunch of innocent people. A ton of calls to 911 came in. 11 minutes later the thirst officer arrives and blasts this s.o.b ...... while watching this I'm wondering why somebody in this neighborhood didn't come outside with a rifle and this nut. I've owned guns for years, know to use them and wouldn't cal 911 first. If every person in that neighborhood had a gun, a lot fewer people would have died.
