Seymour, Branch only players not at practice

Defensive tackle Richard Seymour and strong safety Tyvon Branch are not at practice today. Their status for the Carolina Panthers game is up in the air at this point.
Suffice, Branch has a better chance of playing Sunday than Seymour, given Branch played last Sunday with the same sore ankle that is bothering him today and Seymour has missed the past six games with a hamstring injury.
Wide receiver Juron Criner (hip), tight end Richard Gordon (biceps), cornerback Phillip Adams (concussion) and safety Mike Mitchell (stinger) are at practice despite suffering injuries against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Not much eles going on at practice today, as the Raiders being their on-field preparation for the Panthers. They practice today, Thursday and Friday before heading to Carolina.

Rob parker although i may disagree with airing out rgIII on public tv opened a very critical discussion.
Rob parker drew attention to the fact that entertainers and athletes show no commitment to improving the communities they are from or uplifting their own people.
This is why jordan tiger woods lebron james and so many others are complte failures in my mind where this is concerned. they dont want to risk losing thier trinkets for being a goood entertainer by biting the hand that feeds them.
parker deserves credit as im sure he knew this was a risky thing to do.
Entertainers will never speak on any real issue concerning race because they have made their living entertaining those that seek to destroy us. Bill cosby oprah winfry, eddie murphy and so on.
Abc is far more comfortable putting lil wayne on tv or nicki minaj, they are puppets and agents of destruction for thier own kind.
That is a crucial discussion that black people must have amongst one another, if we are going to continue to teach children to look up to and respect these entertainers.
It should be pointed out that no one makes an issue when a players so called patriotism is called into question (see rahshad mendenhall), yet the minute a black man raises a real issue for our community he is silenced by the network.
proof that only non threatening personalities that want to see our people remain in their current state are the only acceptable black people in the media.
Any dialogue that may cause us to rethink our position and possibly elevate ourselves in the process is banned.

DA and Knapp are fools.
They didn’t even utilize this kids skills as a runner to be a weapon on offense that can keep defenses off balance and use as a change of pace.
Nice coaching staff we have.
Can’t wait for this season (if you can call it that) to be over with and see DA be retained, and even worse Knapp and Tarver stay and the Raiders end up winning 4 games next year….AGAIN.

Glad you brought up the Warriors.
Mark Jackson lowered his teams winning % possibly more so than DA will this season, last season.
He completely changed schemes, fell flat on his face, and they stayed the course, and here they are, poised for a playoff run.
And they tanked for a guy who scored zero points last night, and is not in the top 10 of rookie scorers.
Stay the course, don’t tank.

JFB: The Biggest change with the Dubs, is getting a Above average GM to take over, Meyers had 3 selections in the draft that have paid off BIG in the first qtr of the season…Also, the Dubs, never played D, and had a one on 5 offense most nights.
Writing the book on Barnes a little early there numbers guy, you are using 1 game as your sample and that isn’t exactly an accurate way to go on record.

more research….interview with rod woodson and dana stubblefileld…
1st off, I asked them what they thought about Greg Knapp and the offense Dennis Allen chose. I was told Greg Knapp was not Dennis Allens choice, Neal Brown was Dennis Allen’s (OC from Texas Tech’s spread offense) choice but Reggie wanted Greg Knapp so he could run the system Reggie wanted, yep folks Reggie lied to us about a coach picking his own staff. Rod told me that Dennis wanted us to run a speed spread offense because of who we had on offense but Reggie wanted a conservative WCO zone scheme. And had connections and a friendship with Greg Knapp. I have been quick to blame DA for this change of offensive scheme but now I blame Reggie.

Mark’s D approach takes time, and an offseason or two. Last year, epic flop. This year, great squad.

2nd, we began talking about the cap and money issues and the moves this offseason. And folks I have the truth, Rod who was here until the day after Reggie took office said he and Reggie had a long talk about the defense the day he was hired. I was told that Reggie from day 1 was not interested in restructing Stanford Routt even if Routt agreed (and was willing). Rod said him and Reggie got into it about restructuring routt and holding off a year until they had better corners in here and Reggie responded by relieving him of his duties the next day. WOW I did not see that coming. Then I asked well what about Kam Wimbley, contrary to reports that Kam was not willing to restructure, I was told by both of them that Kam had agreed to restructure after putting up a fuss in January, and once he had agreed, Reggie cut him anyway (making a statement). I don’t agree with Reggie’s tactics just to make a statement that has been detrimental to the team.

3rd, I asked what do they see as the future of this team? Can Reggie get the job done? Dana said “even a blind squirrel finds a nut”, the odds arent good but it is possible. But even more disturbing, both of them said that Reggie will not allow change to happen unless HE wants it. That no matter how bad things get and how wrong Reggie is, he will stay stubborn to his way. All of us calling for Knapp’s head, looks like we will have to endure this sh*t for a long time. So much for Reggies promise of “I believe coaches should pick their staff” yeah… They also said, Reggie is going to fight for his draft picks, even the busts, so no matter what good players become free agents, not to even pay attention because they wont be Raiders.

I just received my Christmas card from the Raiders,…I emailed my CEO friend, told her it was a great year for me personally,.getting to meet Reggie and Mark and all the legends with my pregame sideline access this year,..couldnt care less about the wins and losses myself as I knew back in January this would be a take out the trash year and 2013 the rebuilding begins,…Allen and the staff will for sure be returning,…Knapp may not survive but I think he does,…the players like DMC are history,…at least twenty will be fired by Reggie,..at least…by the way, SHE emailed me back, thanking me for the support, and told me since my wife and I loved the experience so much on the field its on again next year!!!!…merry Christmas!!!…Raider Nation forever. Reggie forever.

If this were New York, Boston, or Chicago DA would be getting hammered with tough questions and accountability.
DA (any coach) could refuse to answer any question they want but at least it would get asked.

After the Baltimore beatdown (one of many incurred this season)one reporter (maybe it was Cork or Jerry)prefaced his question with “You were given a tough situation when you came to the Raiders…..”
If this were almost any other media market the reporter would have said “Do you intend on using the lack of draft picks as an excuse for the horrible way the team is playing”? ..and/or “This team is setting records for futility right now. Statistics show this may be the worst defense in the history of the Oakland Raiders franchise…being a defensive minded coach who was brought in to essentially upgrade the defense, what are your thoughts as to why this has happened under your watch?”
I could go on and on.
These reporters must love the free buffet’s they are allowed to partake of, and wnat to keep getting ivited to Reggie’s private state of the Raiders luncheons or something.

By the way, RGIII graduated early from Baylor with a 3.6 GPA in Political Science, and is an amazing QB in AND out of the pocket. If I had a son, I’d point to RGIII to show him how to act…then point out Parker to show him how NOT to act.

HMM Dennis Allen /Tebow did work good together. They both one a Playoff game. One more then the Raiders have the last ten years.

Most of Amy`s days are trying like Hell to get a stadium deal done in Oakland,…it took the Niners about 15 years to finally get Santa Clara to cooperate and basically pay for it,…billion dollar stadium deals dont happen overnight…shes real close,..it will get done soon,..probably break ground in a year and a half. Season was over in Oct! Jazzed-up after the Pitt game only to get kicked in the nads by poor play and coaching! Spend a lot on tics and flights to Oak over the years, but this is damm humiliating! What the “f” is mgmt going to do about this? Remember when it meant something to be an Oakland Raiders fan! Pride and poise…team of the decades WTF! I felt bad for the Raider legends before the KC game. Too many players with commitment that have left their hearts on the practice field in Alameda and the Coliseum! Happy Holidays!

That list has been clearly altered, as Jermichael Finley was a 3rd round pick in 2008 (curiously ommitted), Jordy Nelson was the 2nd round pick in 2008 and Gregg Jennings 2006 2nd round also not part of the list apparently.

Think on it. Denver was 1-4 before Tebow came in. Tebow controlled the game with his running style and passes when needed. IT gave the broncos D rest and Made Allen look better then he was.

Raiders getting Moore, Te’o, Werner or Star would be nice.
I don’t agree with picking a two gap NT/DT with a top 4 pick though.
Getting a QB and leader on defense who can make all the plays at LB like Te’o or disruptive DE/OLB pass rushers who can play the run well like Moore or Werner would be the way to go.
Get a two gap NT/DT type like Kwame Geathers from Georgia in Round Round 3 or 4 or Jonathan Jenkins in Round if McK trades down.

Also, with Allen telling CNBC how he doesn’t want a QB controversy like there was in Denver, by not playing Pryor legitimately enough for true evaluation, you don’t think Mark Davis will hear that and get pissed? And, if Reggie isn’t a snake in the grass, and genuinely wanted to evaluate Pryor more extensively, you don’t think he’d be pissed off too?
Allen is thumbing his nose at Mark, like Kiffin did with Al.
Also, the way Allen said “we’re no longer gonna draft athletes”….he knows he doesn’t make the call, Reggie does, so him saying that he’s being a mouthpiece for Reggie. Meaning Reggie and Allen must be in cahoots therefore in limiting Pryor as mentioned above, and you don’t think Mark will be pissed off?
It’s not just the whole Pryor deal, but the way they’ve clearly set about ostracizing a certain bunch of Al’s players, not giving them a legitimate chance to show anything. Like Taiwan, Ausberry, Chekwa too.
Reggie/Allen also can’t cut anyone without first the daily discussion and okay from Mark. Just like it works in all 32 NFL organizations. If Mark likes those mentioned above, and sees this prejudice against Al players and attempt to discard them without truly ever evaluating then he may be forced to fire one or both of them.
Lastly, from the day they were all hired, Reggie and Allen went on and on about accountability and genuine competition.
They’ve contradicted themselves in regards to this. Many examples of it, no need to go over them all.

This is a real issue and if you call yourself a Raider fan you should be concerned. Lets please ignore what race Pryor is the issues is what he brings to the table in terms of talent. This reggime has demonstrated the reluctance to open their eyes and see what’s happening all around them. Offensive football is evolving into a more hybrid approach and is having instant success on all levels. This approach has been held back for years by small minded narrow minded and flat out racist coaches and GM’s. Who refuse to see the beauty of athletic dynamic QB’s that enhance the running game as well as the passing game.
Not saying everyone should jump on board just saying it has been a viable option for 60 years but wasn’t allowed. The advent of Tim Tebow and the magic he made on the field along with Cam Newton explosion as a rookie has forced NFL brain trust to finally see much fans respond to this form of play at that position.
I dare say we have one of the most dynamic of those types standing on the sideline being held back by a coach who refuses to utilize his talent because he doesn’t want what might turn out to be a contraversy. His charge is to win games by any means necessary within the rules of the game. Yet his main concern is a contraversy. So one of the scariest talents in terms of DC’s are concerned stands shackled to quiet the crowd.
The coach knows that if the fans can see him they don’t know for sure, therefore his charade can continue. While the fans and the rets of the team suffer an impotent offense incapable of scoring meaningful points. It would be difference if we had a highpowered offense that didn’t need the interruption and and distraction of a young kid getting reps. It is one of the worse under pressure most impotent redzone offenses in this league. Yet we as fans have to wait while a HC with no vision and an imcompetent OC practice futility.
The Oakland Raiders have sunk to a new low and it seems no one in a position of responsibility has a clue as to how to rescue this once proud franchise.
There is a saying; to continue to do something you know will fail(not get the desired results) is the definition of insanity. My interpretation…….but you get my point. FIVE FG’s no TD’s and the HC is ecstatic says all that needs to be said.

This was one of the worst years in Raider history and so many times it looked like it was bad gameplans and defensive schemes more so than lack if talent.
Until they get their coaching situation right this team will remain in the same state it’s been in for the last 10 years. Not a coach on this team has given any reason why they should stick around.
Next year, I see a lot of coordinators who aren’t making it as head coaches who will likely be be fired and the Raiders need to pursue them aggressively. Norv Turner, Whisenhunt, Crennel, Ron Rivera, Rex Ryan and even Love Smith are all wearing out their welcome as HC but anyone of them would be huge upgrades as a coordinator.

They saw it coming and sent money and drugs to the most ingenius minds in our culture to satisfy and passify. If you’re not broke and hungry it’s hard to say you’re in a struggle when money is in teh bank and bills are paid. You would have to have a different resolve to see past that and wont more for those still suffering.
Let me tell you tho, since those years I hav ecome to understand that this isn’t and has never been a color issue as much as it is a Humanity issue. It’s about power even more than money. If you are the Oakland Raiders don’t you wnat to be early to thhis party rather tahn late. There is a great game this weekend signifying my point the Forty Niners are play the Seattle Seachickens with state of the art QB’s one a rookie and the other a second year guy. THeir HC’s spurned the traditional dropback QB’s for state of the art QB’s who are playmakers. The lead explsoive offenses into a pivotal matchup with playoff implications. Their HC’s understood the need to get ahead of the curve and force others to catch up with them rather than vice versa.
The point I made earlier speaks to this and the lack of leadership and vision that exist here. This HC refuses to see what is right in front of his face. Bury his head in the sand and sink this franchise to satisfy his own selfish goals.

But then, your boy wants to say well, RGIII has braids and thats very urban, it adds to his authenticity. Now he’s just ad-libbing talking directly out of his azz. Braids is authentic, and gets Rob Parker’s seal of approval. Cmon Man.
By the way, RGIII graduated early from Baylor with a 3.6 GPA in Political Science, and is an amazing QB in AND out of the pocket. He is not just articulate, but everything he says is well thought out, unlike your boy Parker. RGIII is doing more to advance our cause than that trained puppet Parker EVER will. If I had a son, I’d point to RGIII to show him how to act…then point out Parker to show him how NOT to act.

We’re moving past traditional group distinctions and into the modern territory of demographics. This shift has a corporate tinge to it that has at its core the necessity for optimal appeal.
As the trend runs its course, those who are stuck in the old traditional mindsets will react against it with more vitriol ie Tea Party and Mistic. Eventually they will be eroded, but in the meantime the traditional idea of community and individual-as-member will persist.
