I agree with your explanation of what thrash is but I could see why someone would like thrash but not traditional rock. There’s a good amount of separation between the two.
I personally love Slayer but agree with the idea of a band trying to be scary kind of silly. I think it’s cute that they think there actually is a God up there to even hate us all.
