Five players not at practice today

Quarterback Carson Palmer, right guard Mike Brisiel, cornerback Phillip Adams, defensive tackle Richard Seymour and strong safety Tyvon Branch aren’t practicing today.
Palmer definitely won’t play Sunday against the San Diego Chargers in the regular-season finale. Seymour haas missed the past seven games, and it’s likely that he won’t play this Sunday, either.
As for Brisiel (concussion), Adams (groin) and Branch (ankle(, they stand a decent chance of making it back in time for the Chargers game.
Terrelle Pryor and Matt Leinart are taking reps with the first-team offense today, with coach Dennis Allen saying he will see how both perform in practice this week before deciding which will start in place of Palmer.
Palmer suffered broken ribs and a bruised lung against the Carolina Panthers, and he already has been ruled out.

Just stop it with the HueJax not playing Pryor B.S. Pryor was a damn rookie who not only came out of college too early, but came into the NFL too late. Still HueJax had the wherewithal to know he need to develop that kid. So LOGICALLY he was working at getting TP some real experience on tape (just like the boyz across the Bay did with Kappy!).

So stop this nonsense now. Call a spade a spade: We just have a lousy coaching staff that cannot see or develop talent. Night n day vs. last year.

I was the guy who brought it up. I think Hue should have used him more. But I understand why it was only limited for the reasons you mentioned. I also went on to say let’s see Pryor and have a big supporter of his since prior to him becoming a Raider.

Knew Al would take him. How could he not? 6’6″ 235 lb QB that has a big arm and runs a 4.3 40?? I think Al probably wet himself.

  • The_Judge37

The one time Mark should’ve stepped in was when they decided to let Hue be his own GM. Way too much liberty awarded to a Rookie HC.

Wouldn’t you consider that a slap in the face if you asked an employee for something and he completly halfassed it? Allen not taking a request like that from his GM seriously mean’s he’s completely stupid, or it’s all just blown smoke by Reggie. Both a complet possiblity.

  • John David Booty

Those hollering “continuity”, because it would be so “different” from what Al had done the last 10 years, shut up. Your point is invalid. The very FIRST thing Reggie McKenzie did when he got here was what? Anyone remember? Thats right. He fired the Head Coach. After 1 season.

Hue’s gone. So be it. Late into last season, I was saying how he was starting to remind me of Mike White, and that was not a compliment. But anyone who thinks that Dennis Allen has done a better job of coaching this season than Hue Jackson did last season either A) does not watch football and is just talking to get attention, B) DOES watch football, but doesnt have the ability to understand whats going on well enough to give an accurate assessment of the coaching (which is what I think most here are), or C) Is related to Dennis Allen.

Dennis Allens resume, 4-11. Blowout losses as follows:

    35-13 against MIA
    37-6 against DEN
    55-20 against BAL
    38-17 vs NO
    34-10 against CIN
gave up another 42 against TB

Yeah, lets bring him on back next year. Why not?

People like to say Hue should have been fired for going 1-4 down the stretch. How about ol Dennis? 1-7 in the last 8 games. Is that better? I didnt think so.

Offensive production, WAY DOWN. Defense, which we all thought couldnt get any worse than last year, especially with a defensive minded head coach, is 13 points away from surpassing last seasons horrible points allowed mark.

Continuity is good, I agree. With the right guy.

Continuity is not going to magically make Dennis Allen a better coach. Sorry. I see some of you are some serious Dennis Allen fan boys, and what he has done to earn your admiration is beyond me, but hes really just not that good. Proof is in the pudding.

Nothing has been consistent week in week out, except our losses. Coaches and GMS act like the NFL is Rocket Science, when basically all it is , “Score 1 more point than your opponent!” Tired of hearing all the BS excuses that have hung around this franchise for TOO LONG. With all due respect, I have taken time to layout step by step how the 2011 team was the most expensive 8-8 team in NFL history.

I have also pointed out that anyone thinking our team regressed DUE TO SIMPLY COACHING INCOMPETANCE, is unaware of the backdrop that existed with our 2011 team and what this new regime was faced with.
Injuries, cap issues, lack of draft picks, lack of player talent and some GM and coaching inexperience all played a role in this seasons disaster.

To blame all of this years peformance on coaching incompetance is innaccurate and invalid.

Hue’s team also had similar problems of lack of talent, draft picks and cap. Also unlike Allen, Hue didn’t have the luxury of a complete Training Camp, His own coaching staff and relativly quiet off field distractions. Yet still managed to coax double the wins of DA. Hue was also a rookie coach, who was saddled mid season with GM duties.
