The league will announce the Pro Bowl selections today at 4 p.m. PST on NFL Network. This might be one of those rare seasons when the Raiders get shutout.
Kicker Sebastian Janikowski won the fan portion of the voting for the Pro Bowl, which counts for one-third of the total. The players and coaches also get one-third of the vote.
Janikowski figures to have the best chance of being selected from the Raiders. He has converted 31 of 34 field-goal attempts this season, with his misses coming from 51, 61 and 64 yards.
Even that isn’t a sure thing, given the Browns Phil Dawson is 28 of 29 and the Ravens Justin Tucker 29 of 31 on field-goal attempts. Tucker also plays for a team that is 10-5 and headed to the playoffs.
Janikowski was selected to the Pro Bowl last season for the first time in his NFL career. He made 31 of 35 field-goal attempts in 2011, including an NFL record-tying 63-yarder against the Broncos in the regular-season opener.
