Raiders place Seymour on injured reserve

The Raiders placed veteran defensive tackle Richard Seymour on season-ending injured reserve. It’s conceivable that Seymour has played his last game with the Raiders.
Seymour is an unrestricted free agent after this season, his fourth with the Raiders. He finished with 15 tackles, including three sacks, in eight games.
He has been bothered by sore knees and a hamstring injury that he suffered Nov. 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneeers.
Coach Dennis Allen said it’s likely that the Raiders will fill Seymour’s spot on the 53-man roster before Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.
If so, that player almost certainly will come from the practice squad. The smart money says, the Raiders will sign safety Corey Nelms from the practice squad, given the injury to starting strong safety Tyvon Branch, who hasn’t practiced much the past three weeks because of a sore ankle.

Does that mean he gets Seymours money since he’s playing and Seymours not? Didn’t think so.

Yeah, I get that “splits” doesn’t necessarily mean equal split. But when DA said they were splitting reps, I’m sure that’s what he meant to convey.

Knapp: “By perfecting the o-line holding calls, false starts, sacks, minus yard runs, dropped passes, etcetera in the red zone. We were trying to get Seabass nominated to his second straight Pro-Bowl. What, with all those field goals he had to make. He (Janokowski) should have got in, we did all we could to help him. Maybe next year.”

Not my money, but it’s been a forgone conclusion by most this year that Mike Vick should never see a dime of his $15 mill next year if the Eagles didn’t make the playoffs. How in the hell Could the Raiders even think about paying Palmer that kind of money for 4 wins in 15 games?? Ceasar from Planet of the Apes could get us 4 wins and it’d only cost them a few bananas. Short answer: No!!!

Hmmm.. So does that mean Seymour was paid $1 million per tackle this year? Remindse of when we paid Javon Walker $1 million per catch. SMH.

  • Aphid

The amount of practice time split between Leinart and Pryor doesn’t really matter. Neither does the playing time. Under the current condition, even my favorite Johnny Unitas would look Leaf-esque. What are you expecting to see from the players on offense? It certainly won’t display their true ability except maybe for the art of falling to the turf when Mac-Trucked.
