End 1st qtr: Chargers 10, Raiders 0

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, December 30th, 2012 at 1:59 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Terrelle Pryor has the Raiders with a first-and-10 at the San Diego 31, completing passes of 10 yards to Rod Streater on third-and-2 and 17 yards to Brandon Myers, both on the move.

San Diego scored on a 99-yard kickoff return by Michael Spurlock to open the game and a 31-yard Nick Novak field goal, set up by a 31-yard Phillip Rivers to Eddie Royal pass over Joselio Hanson.

    sad.

raider and football “fans” in here don’t know the legacy of Gil Brandt and the Cowboys.

  • oakfshow

Denise has big pink nipps man.

On the reply of the TD to DHB it wasn’t even a backside throw. It was hung up to the inside and deep out in front of DHB. He had to reach back into the field of play to pull it in after pushing the DB out of interception range. Great play by DHB on a mediocre throw.

  • alex7

    more inaccurate pocket passes.

  • RaiderSam

Roll him out! Stop with all the deep stuff!?

True. Smith is a solid Pro Day, Combine, or 40 time away from being the top QB taken, whether anyone thinks he should be or not. Thats just the way these things go.

And let’s all hope the Chiefs step off that cliff.

  • J Hill

D Moore’s route running is just atrocious.

Anyway, here’s hoping DA can rope in a good OC. Carmichael, Ault, or Turner would all be good choices.

    ==========

exactly cuz his decisions have been spot on so far..KNapp, Hoffman, deactivating Pryor..but hey Gil Brandt says he should be coach of the year!

  • zopi

Terrible stupid sequence of play-calling there.
Giving the ball back with so much time, I disaster.
    Defense can’t stop the doltz.

I do. Brandt knows his football.

There aren’t many personnel men in the NFL with his credentials and ability to dissect a prospect and see how he fits or doesn’t for a particular football team.

It was on target if Moore doesn’t let the defender slow his route.

There better be a lot of “pink slips” handed out on Black Monday at Raiders HQ

Pryor has been better than feared but I think he’s been a little lucky so far. His throws are not that good.
    —————–
You people will always find reasons to hate.
    ———–

C’mon, it’s not hate. That’s pretty obvious. TP is throwing floaters. He needs to put some more zip on his passes.

  • dr_robert

The td was not in wheeler. An lb is not covering that deep corner. It was 2-deep zone and Mitchell couldn’t get over there in time. He was late reading. The cb and lb had underneath coverage.

  • alex7

lol at people who under-value Gruden taking the Bucs to the playoffs twice AFTER the Super Bowl win.

And that was without 1st and 2nd round picks two years in a row.

With QBs like Chris Simms, 40-year old Jeff Garcia, and Brian Griese.

Gruden was 8-8 in Oakland with Donald Hollas as his QB.

    MiamiRaider78,

And I’ll proudly own those ‘accuracy’ issues I have with TP.

He is looking good so far.

I can’t wait until he uncorks one that threads the needle. A zip that flies back the hands of defenders to a receiver for a big-time gain or TD.
    _____

It’s all good, I think we are all pleasantly surprised right now.

  • jackasspuria

I believe it was in Al Davis’ will.

When he passes and TP gets his first start, a minimum of 12 long-bomb passes must be attempted.

Knapp is just abiding by Big Al’s wishes.

  • J Hill

    TP6 isn’t perfect.

And it’s a damn shame that he has to be to get some love in here.

Could we get some fans behind our team? Is everyone hoping the guy fails so “they’ll be right”?

They were going to start Leinart , and you’d still be complaining.

You guys see how hard it is to win games as a Raider QB?

We’re all praising Pryor, yet there’s a very real chance to be down 24-7 at the half.
    ——————————————–
Didnt anyone really expect to win today? Im enjoying watching Pryor get some action, but I definitely thought SD would be able to easily handle business. You know as good as anyone else how this team has looked this year.

  • TerrapinRaider

    TP6 is the truth!

Bad play call by Knapp though. But they still had a chance.

    =====

Keep waiting. We’ve seen 10 throws (12 actually because the two PIs don’t show) all of which have been lofted like an underhanded high arc softball pitch. If he has the ability to zip anything, he hasn’t shown it yet.

Right now I’m seeing Todd Marinovich, minus the hair do and the surfing skillz.

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

    Bryant, Houston…thanks Al…How’s Bergstrom doing?

    ok.

Star QBs are hard to come by. Only a few coaches can get to the playoffs with Chris Simms and Brian Griese.
