McClain arrested again

By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, January 8th, 2013 at 4:36 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Embattled Raiders middle linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested in Alabama on Tuesday.
According to WHNT-TV, McClain was pulled over for a window-tint violation. McClain proceeded to give the police officer that pulled him over a false name.
At that point, McClain was arrested. He later posted bond and was released from Decatur City Jail.
This comes on the heels of an incident late in 2011, when McClain was convicted of four misdemeanors, including discharging a firearm. Charges later were dropped when the person that accused McClain of shooting a gun next to his ear decided not to proceed.
Raiders coach Dennis Allen suspended McClain for two games for conduct detrimental to the team in the second half of the 2012 season. McClain was inactive for Oakland’s final three regular-season games.
It’s likely that the Raiders will seek to trade McClain in the near future. If they can’t find any takers, they likely then would release him.
He was the No. 8 pick in the 2010 NFL draft out of Alabama. He has failed to develop into the dominant player the Raiders envisioned.

Last I looked your boys Moore and Werner adn Jones didn’t do crap in the Bowl games either!

    ———–

Moore’s body of work is far superior to Manti he faced stiff comp in the SEC and led that league in sacks and he also led his team in tackles from a DE position which is hard to do, btw he’s only 21.

Didn’t Jamarcus and McLain face stiff competition in the SEC also?

    How they turn out?

    Back for some playoff talk.

It looks like DA will be outcoached not only by John Fox, now Andy Reid, and whoever SD hires.

DA will have to hire a superior OC for 2013, because this AFC West will be the Wild West ofensively.

Lets face it, the raider O is far from being competive.

You guys kill me with this stuff of running qb’s getting hurt, qb’s get hurt period doesnt matter it be running or standing in the pocket. Manning and Brady have both missed signifigant time because of injuries as have our own CP3 and Drew Brees so that argument is kinda lame. BTW Steve Young Ran alot and I dont remember him having many injuries.
    ————-

It increases the chance of sustaining a injury. That is a fact.

    =============================================

Not if they are running. If a Q is scrambling he gets protection per league rules. If a Q is acting like a RB, he is NOT afforded that luxury. You can take shots at them. And those are good rules. RB’s are built differently than Q’s. And as I have said 2,000 times in here, do you really want Tom Brady, Aaron Rogers, or Russell Wilson pretending to be Marshawn Lynch out there?

  • eastoaklandraider

I never wanted Jruss and Mcclain needs to be in a 3-4 imo to play up to standards. Glen is just a bust plain and simple but there are bust in every league some you can spot a mile away like Te’o.

I agree with you that the quickest fix for THIS team would be offense. But I think we have the personnel to score points as is, and that we just need a creative OC/playcaller to utilize the weapons we have. The offense was already GOOD in 2011, and we didnt lose any major pieces, aside from Bush. We can improve the line, we can improve at WR, yes, but I just really feel that this offense is a good OC away from being a force. Just too many speed mismatches.

    >>>>

    Valid point.

It seems a crapshoot though. I’d sure trust CP and McF with a robust line first though.

Gannon didn’t turn into a MVP without one of the best lines in football.

whats funny is IF the Raiders were to draft white Johnny Football I’d be on here condemning the “wave of the future” like i do now. its a crap offense and that shortens QB life spans. this is the best era to be a pocket passer by far. rules have been tilted toward the QB completely. pocket passing is the wave of the future more than ever before.
