Updated story, bizarre details on McClain being arrested

A story in the Decatur Daily details the false name used by Raiders middle linebacker Rolando McClain that led to his arrest Tuesday. The story also recounts how McClain feels as if he is a victim in the case.
Brace yourself. You can’t make up this stuff. So, here’s the link. Use your imagination when guessing what the expletive was used by McClain:

Hey rob fkn Ryan, has it been five minutes yet?

I was just asking that the other day…his watch must be slow or broken!

And explain how we hired Rob Ryan from NE?

    tap tap…
    *****************
Because they allowed those guys to be interviewed.

    >>>>

I know. Visor-boy is trying to say that you can’t hire anyone under contract unless its a promotion to HEAD COACH.

Lets see if he admits he is wrong?

You can’t hire someones OC to be our OC.. true, you can’t move laterally.. but any coach can move up to coordinator from position coach (as long as the team gives permission, which most teams do…its a tight fraternity.)

  • JR77

I remember Rob Ryan said the same thing when he got fired by Al. He said he would be out of a job for 3 seconds.

  • hwnrdr

You know what, Gdog…I believe you’re right…as long as its a promotion a team can ask permission, but other teams can deny you. Most usually don’t deny permission when it is to become HC!

NJ? They have an owner worth 7 billion, Howard doesn’t like playing with Kobe. If the losing continues, things will boil over to the point where one of them will have to go.

But I wonder…if a coach is still under contract, and leaves to be a HC or whatever…do the new team take over the contract? How does that work?

  • Carl Weathers

This team is gonna blow with DA as HC, no matter who is brought in as an assistant. He looks like a dildo FFS!

DA coaches football like a punk that plans to take another kids marbles when he isn’t looking. DA is a scumbag. Total bvllsh!tter too. little weasel lookin mofo. No nuts to go for it on 4th down with a minute before half time or a record breaking FG, he punts.

I’ve never seen him play football but I guarantee you he tackled low and held high.

    —–

As long as the original team let him go, or the coach left for a hc gig, then the contract with the original team is terminated and the new team negotiated with the coach.

If a team fires a coach, depending on the language of the contract, his old team probably still owes him his money and the new team also negotiates a new contract.

I think shanny rats contract gave the broncos an out if he re-signed as a hc elsewhere, so they were pissed when he sat out a couple of years and they had to keep paying him.

  • hwnrdr

  • DutchRaider77

NFL rules require teams to allow assistants to interview for head coaching positions, but they’re not mandated to allow assistants to interview for coordinator positions — an issue likely to be addressed by the NFL Coaches Association when it meets about possibly unionizing.

Mostly because of his connection to Chudzinski.

Hard to see how that works out since Chudzinski used to an assistant of Norv’s in San Diego.
Is the guy really going to want to work for his own assistant coach?
Hell, he’s not that desperate for a job.

    DJ Johnny Says:

    Bob,

Please give me your take on what would result if the following occurs:

-Defense continues momentum of last season due to coninuity of staff and adding stud lineman

-Offense gets better due to OC managing to players strengths and adding of stud #1 receiver.

Given that those things are entirely possible, where would see us winding up?

I ask this of u, due to fact you tend to be a little more optimistic than many.

    ****************************************************

    DJ.

That’s a tough question to answer since we have not made any personnel moves and things should look different once Free-Agency and the Draft are over with, but I’ll try.

The Defense continues momentum as you say, this should happen, if only because 2012 was historically bad and more than likely we’ll add a top pick and a couple more decent players, I belive we gave up 27 ppg last year, I could see us dropping down a FG on that average, say 23-24 ppg.

The Offense scored 18 ppg, with the right system in place we should be able to add say 5-6 ppg, getting the average up to 23-24, right about the same as on D.

If things work out, I don’t see why we can’t get back to competitiveness in 2013, we should shoot for 9 wins…but that’s a waaay too early prediction, let’s see where we’re at come training camp.

Finally, I disagree on the stud # 1 WR issue, I don’t think there is one worthy out there, Greg Jennings is a great player but he does his best work in the slot, we could certainly use him but the price may not be right, if we were to spend good money on a WR I would prefer a guy who stretches the field and opens up the middle for the run game, Mike Wallace would be great but can’t afford him.

IMO, we’re going to develop Moore, Streater and Criner and giving a final shot to DHB and Ford, but Reggie will probably bring a couple of players via the draft or undrafted guys and make it an open competition.

Here about how Manning how nerve damage in his hand and he is wearing a glove now?

“Manning began wearing the gloves in practice in late December to prepare to play in cold weather, and on Tuesday confirmed that he has also chosen to wear them as part of his recovery from his 2011 spinal fusion surgery.

Manning dealt with nerve damage and weakness in his right arm after the surgery, and the glove helps improve his grip on the ball, something that becomes more challenging in frigid temperatures.”
