1 Nation #1
mornin all!!
*****************
So glad the ravens smacked boston in their proverbial kisser....a beautiful sight...bundchen wanting nothing to do with the football in the 4th quarter.The sideline being his first and only read and got fined to boot.
Can you imagine a SB played between frisco and boston?
Now at least we have a club to root for and it ain't santa clara.

The Raiders cap situatio is not as bad as McKenzie andMckenzie apologists would lead you to believe. Assuming we say goodbye to Seymour, DHB takes a significant paycut or gets cut, Brisiel is waived, maybe TK is waived and another move or two (I say trade Branch) then RM will have plent of room to work with. If Palmer is traded and we can avoid that cap hit then we’ll have a ton of room. I don’t think we should do that, but if that happens then forget about the cap excuse.

-------------------------------------------------

It actually is. DHB, McClain, Kelly need to be straight up released. That should get us initial cap relief. Problem is we have to fill 1/3 of the roster with very limited resources. We should resign Bryant, Shaunasty, Wheeler, Myers and maybe Adams to 3 year deals but otherwise its 1 year min contracts for the rest of the roster. Rookie contracts are cap friendly because of the slotted salaries and signing bonuses are spread out over the life of the deal (4 years).

Palmer deal has really F'd up the works. He's making elite money. Really can't cut/trade him in 2013 committed bonuses cap accelerated to $17 million! without someone ready to replace him. He's cap is $13 million if he stays on the roster. His 2014 cap number is something insane like $19 million! Terrible deal signing him - we get so screwed on the draft picks, initial contract extension, and *then* he restructures last year to ensure cap punishment through 2014. His contract is voidable in 2015 but the Raiders are cap committed to him for the next 2 years.

We need our Raiders to draft a player that will be an all-pro in two years, not just a pro-bowler.

I know we need a pass rusher more than anything, however the more highlights I see Warmack is the best player on the draft board; and I truly think he will make Vehldeer & Wisniewski a better LT/C respectively playing between them.
==============
you dont draft a guard in the top 15.....you just dont....

we arent going to have any DT's and star gives us the ability to flip back and forth between a 3-4 and a 4-3......take a look at the afc championship game today.....wilfork and ngata

And we don’t have palmers seventeen million dollar a year contract, we have our first and second this year, or RGIII.
====================
so...raiders were in the thick of a playoff run with a very exciting offense and you would have preferred to tank the season in the hopes we draft RGIII and he pans out

i think hue did the right thing...top draft picks bust all the time...there are no guarantees there.......a #1 and #2 is a big price tag but that is not unrealistic for a top QB

738- Yes!

Rogers our qb, we never draft Fabian or Jamarcus, we probably end up drafting Willis or Peterson instead.
