thats exactly right. Palmer cost next to nothing versus the cap last year, but received a check from Mark Davis for almost $12 million.

thats why JFB keeps telling YOU PEOPLE that he’s not guaranteed anything this year. that restructure didn’t kick the can down the road and cause us a huge cap hit for future years

“Palmer was due a $12.5 million base salary for 2012 on his deal with $5 million of that figure fully guaranteed for skill, injury and cap.

According to a league source, Palmer has now reduced his base salary to $825,000 for 2012. That salary is fully guaranteed for skill, injury and cap with $11.675 million converted to a guaranteed roster bonus.”

Note that this article says the 11.675 is a roster bonus. As a roster bonus it cannot be spread out over multiple years. Any money being listed as spread out over multiple years does not include this 12 million.

Raiders were 12-10 since the start of 2011 before Palmer arrived.

we are 8-18 since then.

Bengals ditched Palmer and went from 4-12 (2010) to playoffs in consecutive years (2011 & 2012)

palmers career says he has only posted wining season (8 or more wins) in 6/9 years 1/3 of his time

plamers record here is 8-16, he has only won a 3rd of his games in oakland
