Raiders bring back Khalif Barnes

Right tackle Khalif Barnes became the first of 17 unrestricted free agents to return to the Raiders, the club announced Wednesday.

Since free agency began, five players _ Philip Wheeler (Dolphins), Desmond Bryant (Browns), Brandon Myers (Giants), Mike Goodson (Jets) and Matt Shaughnessy (Cardinals) have signed with other teams, while the rest remain on the market.

An eight-year veteran, Barnes started nine games at right tackle last season after recovering from a torn groin muscle. He was a 16-game starter in 2011.

Barnes is versatile enough to have played in the gap and power scheme blocking the Raiders utilized in 2011 as well as the zone system last season.

Tupac shakur is largely misrepresented in the public view.

Not only was his mother a black panther but his father and uncles were also black nationalis revolutionaries.

In fact they did security for malcolm x for example. many of them were assassinated and imprisoned.

at age 17 Tupac was the national chairman for the New Afrikan panther party and people revolutionary army.

This is the basis for much of his music.

unfortunately because of sevearl assination attempts and constant threat from law enforcement ( cointelpro) he found himself in prison and broke and took a deal from death row records to get free.

he believed he could use thug life as a platfrom to get his true message out, but he found out you cant out devil the devil.

Much of his most powerful music never saw the light of day, and mainly only his music that satisfied the death row people was published and made available.

the media also portrayed tupac as a crazy person, and the potent mix of stardom drugs and depression only furthered his often erratic behavior and thugged out persona.

Tupac is a traggic hero, and was assassinated due to his power over the minds of the youth. If you want to know what tupac was really all about, the music that came out after his death is the best representation of his art.

I would also recommend this book by john potash

The secret fbi war on tupac shakur and black leaders

excellent read and factual account of the real tupac. i use this book and tupacs music as a teaching tool when working with the youth in my community.

Hope Reggies scouting department lives up to the hype. It is real clear this team is building from the ground up. through the draft and DA is here to stay.

Been tryin to tell you guys this for years. Rome wasn’t built overnight, but it sure burned overnight. And that is just what Reggie and DA have done, they’ve trashed it. So look for the slow build. This is what I told you would happen and I’m good with it.

Dump Palmer. Decent QB but bad money. I figure we’ll need a dozen or so picks, and trading Palmer could get us a couple early picks. Trade Rolando for a mid to late pick. Trade a future pick for this years pick. Now is the time to build.

gimme heiroglyphics, DU, and Quannum from the bay area.
    ——————————————-
3X is dope. Agermans flow pattern was like water back in the days until he got shermed out and went gospel.

Mob Figz, Jacka and Hus are two dope artists who constantly put out good independent material.

Bad-N-Fluence, Rappin Ron was a cold piece, especially with the punchlines. Another dope rapper, before he fell asleep behind the wheel.

Delinquents both could flow, V-white and Gstack both had patterns.

I agree that these groups have a little rougher subject matter, but they all drop a lot of game. I wouldnt put them in the same class of Bay garbage rappers. These guys coud at least flow.

Hiero on the other hand is on a level all by themselves. Del, Phesto, Opio, and Pep Love are f#ckin master MC’s.

Now that I think about it, the Bay in general doesnt get nearly as much credit as they should for the degree of skill that a lot of the MCs have.

Hwndrdr is right; Biggie even managed to sound fat…if you’d never seen him you would have known he was obese because it sounded like he’d just eaten a sandwich then climbed a flight of stairs in EVERY track he recorded. It was exhausting to listen to!

2Pac was perfect rage and bravado and frustration, gave the impression that he was running down a steep hill, knew he was going to trip and fall eventually but didn’t give a f@ck, just kept running faster than ever. Brilliant.
