I don’t think Reggie’s going to draft a corner. He might go Defense with the 1st pick but i don’t know how much longer he can go with ignoring the offense

we have an agreement on draft day & JFORD (comment #468)

any action on who starts more games between Flynn, Pryor and QB “yet to be named/other” ??

and what about the rest of us…. post 472.

If your starting quarterback goes down and the backup comes in and starts winning

your starter just became the backup the first preseason game let’s see how long they leave the first team in

pryor is going to have to play with the second string it’s a good thing that he can run

  • http://000 Bob Marley

    Have a good one fellas.

Rockstar I love you too man, no hard feeelings even if you try to make me look like a weasel or something, I’ve been called much worst.

  • Just Win Baby

Some good players, including WR will be cut from other teams camps yet. Not necessarily because they aren’t good, but some teams are just loaded at some positions and will have to let good players go. The draft and the start of training camp are definitely not the end of FA signings.

if any contender loses their starting quarterback they will no longer be contenders that goes without saying..

    ———————————
    Tell that to Drew Bledsoe

    and Alex Smith

  • Marks hair

There’s always one or two exceptions

  • RAIDERMAN99

This is DA’s 2nd year in the organization. Hue got two years, if DA doesn’t win 6 games at least, he will only get two years as well.

As much as I can’t stand Tits and think he’s a horrible HC, I don’t think his job retention is entirely dependent on the number of games the RAIDS win. I want to be fair to Tits.

I can envision a scenario where the RAIDS win only 4 games and Tits keeps his job.

If we’re competitive, and the roster is used effectively, but we come up short due to lack of personnel more than Krappy coaching, Tits could survive. In all fairness, he’d deserve to survive.

  • Just Fire Baby

    I don’t know…

    I think he’ll draft a

    1. DT

    2. DE

    3. CB

    4. TE

    5. WR

    6. RB

the rest will be O-line and maybe a QB!

  • Marks hair

Tits will finish the yr. Expectations are pretty low. Tits

That’s what I hear em say on the schedule special anyway..

There is no “rest”, we only have 6 picks.

    That’s an interesting proposition.

Flynn has to be the favorite, but TP would have considerable ‘dark horse’ appeal.

As JFB points out, Flynn isn’t a terribly big dude, so there’s the injury factor.

And TP just might play lights out and take the job.

Then we can bet on how many pieces Dr Rob’s head exploded into.

    ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
I don’t think so. If your really being a fair evaluator then last yr you have to say the ZBS was not the greatest decision, didn’t cable run some of that also? Also there were a fair amount of injuries that really hurt us. This was also a new staff that didn’t understand their players. They do now and are making adjustments. You could say DA wasn’t good at halftime judgements but I believe he will do better, especially with the players he has now. He can be more flexible on D. By the time Reg and DA came on board most of the OC’s were being hired. They really didn’t have time to pick and choose. Besides, How many HC’s have made mistakes with coach hirings? To truly evaluate this regime you need to understand the cap and the CBA before you can say just fire Reg/DA now.

  • Marks hair

I have my fingers crossed for both our qbs.. if they both turn out good it could turn us around. We’d trade one for picks nex yr.

    Great post

  • The_Judge37

You’re right, 7. But still, any pick after 4, more often than not, sucks and we need at least one or two major contributer at WR, TE, OG, OT or RB.

  • Marks hair

    500. Not just fair but smart too… how do you evaluate players during a complete overhaul? Last yr was a waste..

Now you’re just unfairly making excuses. Both Cable and Hue’s 1st years were new coaching staffs and they didn’t even get to choose. The ZBS and Knapp were both DA’s decision so he definetely doesn’t get a pass on that. Also both Cable and Hue dealt with the same injuries, even worse in Hue’s stint with Cambell going down.

  • Marks hair

    Trade it

  • Macho Man Randy Savage

Should go 5-11. DA has potential for a 2-14 no doubt. 8-8? long shot.

  • RNOraiderFan

Pryor is my dog in this race.

  • severeraiderz

Hue had all the same difficulties DA had plus the death of Al and not being able to choose his own staff. He went 1-5 down the stretch, but who was his QB for those games?

  • RNOraiderFan

Ya all our DB’s kept going down. Wtf was that?

  • inonewordraider

reggie told me his primary goal is to trade back with miami and draft

    1st Damontre Moore DE
    2nd Jonathan Hankins DT
    3rd David Queesenberry OT/OG
    4th Nick Kasa TE

    if he can’t move back

    1st Star Lotuleilei DT
    3rd Brandon Jenkins DE
    4th Nick Kasa TE

  • RAIDERMAN99

Tom Cable smart enough to strip Krapp of play calling duties.

Tits Allen dumb enough to bring Krapp back.

    Enough said.

By the way, most succesful Head Coaches are a pain in the ass, they’re difficult to handle and always want more control, it is the GM’s job to get them under control and to stick with their vision while they do what they do best, coaching, scheming, playing to guy’s strengths and in some cases, calling plays, pushovers don’t last long in Coaching.

Reggie should have given Hue a lecture about who would be calling the shots and offered him a deal: “You have 1 year remaining, I will give it to you if you stick to coaching, you have something going on on Offense, you tell me what you need and I will find it for you but I’m the boss and if you can’t live with it I will replace you, now if you wanna work with me, let’s start by finding a real DC..”.

We should have let Hue earn a new deal or get himself fired, that would have been fair, no free-passe
    >>>

Agreed. Personally I would have said to Hue, “We will be playing in the AFC championship game or you are fired next season… take it or leave it.”

He could have then hired DA this year… especially if we had gone 4-12 (which would have been highly improbable.) More likely we would be hiring DA coming off three straight 8-8 seasons… a the team would have a lot more “buzz” thus less dumpster diving.

Oh well… we got Knapp and this mess now… time for DA to make chicken salad out if it.

  • RNOraiderFan

Flippin Chiefs going to screw the Miami trade for us. The fins aren’t going to trade with us if they get Albert from KC

  • severeraiderz

Jaws and Kiper just talked about how Aaron Rodgers was a bubble screen QB and a Jeff Tedford product. They said he worked at his craft and improved his accuracy and arm strength. Mckenzie witnessed this and might see some of the same things in Pryor that he saw in a young Aaron Rodgers and the Flynn acquisition is to motivate him or give him time to sit and continue his improvement

  • RNOraiderFan

    Maybe AZ trades up.

  • Dr_ robert

Terrelle Pryor believes the Raiders’ new braintrust is putting an emphasis on finding players with good character.
“We don’t want guys, like coach says all the time, we don’t want guys that are about women, fast cars, cars,” Pryor said. “It’s all about competing, being a team player first and loving the game of football.” It’s a laudable sentiment, but teams that focus on character and only character tend to go nowhere fast. GM Reggie McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen deserve patience as they rebuild a broken roster, but they’ve had a questionable offseason, at best.

Well…I expect Reggie to draft another Bible Thumper. Someone from the State of Utah were all the choirboys are farmed!

  • Marks hair

trade once with Miami. Then a second time with either Minnesota or sf.
3-4 day 1 starters from the 1st two rounds.

  • willy91137

Rader man 99 you are right

If we are in the games in the fourth quarter and lose DA will be all right

but if we are getting beat by 20 points and it’s over at halftime he’s gone

this is Olson’s first shot at offense coordinator if he runs it like Jon Gruden

short passes screens slants West Coast and if we get up on him in the fourth quarter

we will ( POUND THE ROCK )

  • Gdog

How could have Hue gotten us four more wins? Easy… he for sure would have had a backup long-snapper practiced up, so a win vs SD. More points beats Atl. Two. More points vs Clev and Car… three and four more wins.

Boom… three straight 8-8 seasons. Reggie can say NOT GOOD ENOUGH… fire Hue, hire DA… and off we go!

OTOH, DA might still bring in his drinking buddy Knapp THIS year, so we would be screwed again… but I will pretend that would not happen.

  • RaiderRockstar

Reggie & Dennis don’t want players that are all about women & cars? Whaaaatt?

You have to build a strong core of ‘good character’ players. Then you can take a risk on the head cases, and the will have leadership on the team to keep them in line.

I like Pryors upside…..Taken from a BleacherRepot article…………………………………………Pryor and the Raider Nation should be excited about his performance against the Lions because this is why he was drafted. Pryor is an electrifying playmaker that can take over a game or change it’s outcome with one or two pla
If Pryor can work more on his accuracy there is no doubt that he’ll be a starter in this league. Pryor made a great play on the long touchdown pass to Juron Criner. Pryor made some outstanding plays with his feet against the Lions.
One thing that Pryor did very well with against the Lions is getting the play called and getting his team in and out of the huddle.Pryor was mostly a shotgun quarterback in college and had very little experience taking snaps under center.
