    The Miami Dolphins have traded up for the third pick, sending their 1st round (12), second round (42) and two third round picks (77 and 82) to the Oakland Raiders.

    ———————————————————–

    I’d pull the trigger on that trade

    ^^^^^^^^

    I would too, probably ask for 5th rounder as well, but I’d ‘settle’ for that.

    Ford had 7 TD’s in his rookie year, with only ONE of those in the KC game. That’s not a one game wonder for a Rookie.
    ***************************

    One good rookie year I say….but 2011 not enough and 2012 nothing

    Did I forget about his 3:30 am tweets before biggest game of season on New Years? Fk Ford
    ———

    Guy got hurt, can’t hold injuries against a player. It’s not like he’s Derrick Rose, sitting on the bench completely healthy.

  • RaiderRockstar

    Is DMac the same player???? That’s my biggest question

    ***

    @Jhill

    nobody knows – probably why he hasn’t got a contract extension from Reggie.

    Durability concerns + contract year + out of whack deal = draft day trade

    I’ll take Tarver’s scheme over AD’s antiquated 70’s scheme any day, regardless of the players.
    ——

    Man2Man with natural pressure isn’t a bad scheme if it’s executed right. I’ll take that over 20 yard Saftey blitzes. They both yeilded the same results

    =====

    Natural pressure? LOL, if you’ve watched the Raiders play defense the last decade, it’s like the unicorn or the lockness monster.

  • inonewordraider

    say no to floyd!

  • bcz24

    I’m not saying they didn’t still suck. But Tarver was supposed to be free to Blitz and have a modern Defense, with the same players who were getting sacks the year before. Yet he it didnt’ work out. Goes to my point that a scheme change isn’t Magic.
    ************
    The secondary was a dramatic drop off from the year before (hard to believe that was even possible), or do you think that didn’t matter in the sacks department?

    ——

    Drop off wasn’t that dramatic, don’t exaggerate. Lito Shepard and Routt most of the year, with Huff playing nickle and Gio at FS most of the time.

    2011 – 2012
    Routt = Huff
    Lito = Adams
    Huff = Joselio
    Safties the same

    That’s because there was ZERO natural pressure, thanks to the Dline AD assembled over his dying years.
    ——-

    There was at least 6-7 sacks from the DT’s the year before, 7 from Shonasty before injury. All of a sudden under Tarver Kelly get 1.5 and Matt and Seymour 3.5. But yeah it’s still a dead mans fault.

  • The_Judge37

    Tarver’s defense sucked last year. He was suppoesed to have the freedom to blitz and he just wasted it by sending safties too late and having guys run directly into blockers.

  • Myopinion

    Noone can know what these offseason moves are good or bad.
    I just dont see saying theyll be bad, when theyre all veterans who have obviously made it in the league. I dont think one player we signed wasnt wanted by at least another team.
    These are the same people who wanna trade down 20times.
    Let me get this right. The 30th66,85,90rated college players will take us to promised land.
    But these guys whove shown they belong in nfl are worthless?

  • Plunketthead

    Corks draft picks

    Chiefs: OT Luke Joeckel (Texas A&M). Andy Reid knows the value of a stud at left offensive tackle. So does new Chiefs QB Alex Smith.

    2. Jaguars: DT Sharrif Floyd (Miami). They finally find a replacement for Marcus Stroud and John Henderson to anchor their defensive line.

    3. Raiders: DE Ezekiel Ansah (Brigham Young). They hope to find their first real pass-rushing threat since Derrick Burgess.

    4. Eagles: OT Eric Fisher (Central Michigan).
