    Yep.

Lots of action on the floor, should be a fun draft.. NFLnet reporting its widely expected to be one of the most active drafts in recent history due to the CBA rookie scale and the depth. There might be hope to trade down yet at #3 yet. Teams like the Rams, Dolphins, Falcons, Vikings going for broke willing to trade up to get that guy who takes them over the top. They can always offer up next years picks in the deal too.

If Reggie can secure 3 picks in the 1st 100 (we have 2 now), that’d be a good job. 4 would be outstanding.

Haynes is already in the HOF. But Lester should definetly be in. He’s being punished for something that wasn’t illegal in his day. If stickum didn’t hurt Freddy B’s HOF chances, then it shouldn’t be held against Lester the Molester.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^

point taken. honestly forgot that, but really was more into the comparison of Revis. Haynes/Hayes was probably the best CB tandem ever.
    ——

Yeah they were easily the best. Lester was as good as Mike but just for not as long. Plus he’s remembered too much as the guy to have Stickum outlawed. But stickum didn’t get him in position, stickum didn’t make him a great tackler.

    AW,

we’re talking about Ansah’s ceiling already? He’s only been playing football like 2 years I thought? He’s a pretty raw prospect. That doesn’t scare me off at all. “watch the tape”, as Reggie would say. Good pass rushers can last into their mid 30′s so I’m not worried at all about his age. What if he only gave us 5 years of being a sack artist? He’d still be our best draft choice of the past 20 years!

  • ElkGRaider

    From SI…

    Overrated

    Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon

Jordan, who keeps showing up as a top-five pick in every mock draft I see, finished third in tackles for loss in 2012. Third in the nation? No. There wasn’t a No. 3 because South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (the likely No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft) and Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton tied for second with 23.5. Third in the Pac-12? Nope. That was UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr. Jordan finished No. 3 in tackles for loss on his own team with 10.5 (five sacks). And he might go second or third overall?

I get that Jordan’s size (6-foot-6, 248 pounds) means he can play defensive end in a 4-3 or outside linebacker in a 3-4, but the idea that a 3-4 team needing a disruptive rusher would take Jordan over Georgia outside linebacker Jarvis Jones — No. 1 in the nation with 24.5 tackles for loss even though he missed one game with an injury — is absolutely dumbfounding. At least Jones will go elsewhere in the first round. Stanford’s Thomas (6-4, 248) will go three to four rounds after Jordan, and all Thomas did — playing against the same offensive lines as Jordan — was get in the backfield more often (14.5 TFL, 7.5 sacks)

…to all the people hating on my Jarvis Jones pick

No I think Ansah or Jordan could work. We don’t really know if he would be a bust, we all just think we know, but we really don’t. We need a pass rusher or Star. I wouldn’t cry either way. Someone has to get the the QB or we

Hes not my first choice at all.
    Jordan,
    Star,
Why you so posive hell be no good?
I think hes the biggest bust potential,
but if reggie grabs him,he must be confident in him.
I just cant imagine another season like last.it was toeture watching teams have a week to throw.

  • Gdog

Burgess fell off every year….legit my ass…he also refused to play RDE because he knew he would get exposed

    >>>

Plus all he did was try to wheel around the RT every play and teams quickly figured this out and simply ran the inside him… OFF TO THE RACES!

He didn’t care. Just wanted more sacks…

I hope they are right, but I don’t see it myself. With no QB’s and no big name defensive stars like Suh, why would anyone trade up? If the two stud LTs go 1-2, Reggie may be stuck.

I’d just pick LG then (Warmack or Cooper) but it would drive the “value” drafters insane.

One of the fathers of the 34 said you fit your D to the players you have. OLB/DE. We need a pass rusher. Take Ansah or Jordan and make it work. Jordan can fly. Move the dude around, put him at DE whatever, get to the QB.
We need guys that can play in a hybrid D. 43 34. Get the guys and make it work.Take Ansah and play 43. DA may want a 43 but he also wants guys that can be flexible

Do u expect jordan to be high on t.f.l. But oregon scores 60 pts a game, how many defensive plays can there be.
Also noted,he was not a base de.
    But instead a specialized linebacker,
On running plays he was more lb.
Reason hes my favorite pass rusher.
is he doesnt become elite rusher, he can fall back on being a good covrage lb,and blitzer.
Hes a player when the qb gets to los, he has to locate him

    My draft prognosis

If one of LTs on board we will trade down with Cards or Maimi and try to take Floyd or Star with 7th or 12th pick. If Floyd/Star gone and we have 12th may go with Werner (not Ansah or Jordan but one or both will likely be drafted in top 8 especially Jordan). We may even trade down again if an offer presents itself especially if Star/Floyd gone.

If LTs off Board and can’t trade down we take Floyd. Star is a definite maybe as well. Our fist instict will be to try to trade down.

I am out. Lester Hayes for HOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, Jordan can fly. He can cover, rush the passer and he says he can play the 43 on the edge. I know, small arse but that arse can move. It’s a passing league. Get the QB and cover the ball catchers. Those elite TE’s will eat us up if we can’t cover them
