    B,

The smartest. monkey in the room didnt know the Raiders ran a 4-3 with a NT.

    RDE Matt Shaughnessy Andre Carter
    DT Desmond Bryant Brandon Bair
    NT Tommy Kelly Christo Bilukidi
LDE Lamarr Houston David Tollefson Jack Crawford

A NT in 4-3 defense?!?! No!!!!

    ***********

if ur not a simpleton liar who likes to ignore everything else i said.

i said it has become popular to call the 1-tech a NT, but he’s not. he does not line up over the center, like in a 3-4. he’s a gap player.

a NT is in an odd front defense.

    this is basic knowledge.

and u buffoons cackle and yell when u don’t know the game.

Ansah did play 3-4 DE in BYU, but that doesn’t mean he can do it in the NFL. He needs to add more weight to be an effective 3-4 DE, and I think he has the frame to do it. I can see him adding 10-15 pounds.

I say Dolphins are the trade partner….they gonna give the best deal possible and have the picks needed to really make it crack!

  • Marks hair

true.. I think he’s an ideal 4-3 end and a decent fit as a 3-4 end.. he would wear down playing the 3-4 all the time and wouldn’t generate many sacks..

  • tonedeezy

the real question is, what do the Jags do?

No one is trading up for Milliner or Floyd.

If Fisher or Joeckel are available, then we have trade bait.
If not, we’re looking at Star or Floyd.

No wonder our defense sucks! Having a gap penetrator at NT insead of someone that will take on double teams and free up LBs is a prescription for long runs if he does not get penetration or misses on distrupting the play. Note to all DL line officonados I am being a little sarcastic here. Sims seems more like a classic NT type over Kelly. Bryant and Kelly seemed more like Penetrators to gaps and allowed OGs to get to next level and if RB beats Kelly or Bryant then it is off to the races unless the LB can shed a guard coming right at them.

I will say this, NYG at times did have success running the DL like this with gap penetrators instead of those point of attack type guys but I think it is hard to do consisetenly and is something you do not want to do every play.

  • DMAC

Theres guys that I want drafted, but its not my job!

    In Reggie I trust!

  • shutdown

If you don’t have a long history of playing football, if you’ve just discovered your talent for it, it’s hard for others to judge if you’ll love playing football at this level or even the collegiate level.

Will Reggie think that Ansah loves football? You can’t judge that based on his past so you have to rely on interviews, and even then, it’s a crapshoot.

  • jesusraiderjim

    Question:

if San Diego wants to move up to #3 and draft Lane Johnson, what would they have to give up?

    Pick #3 = 2200 pts

    Pick #11 = 1250 pts
    Pick #45 = 450 pts
    Pick #76 = 210 pts
    Pick #110 = 74 pts

plus maybe they give us the rights to RFA WR Danario Alexander??

  • shutdown

I think Reggie doesn’t move down unless he gets a #2 from someone. Don’t know how likely that is.

  • StarUkulele

In the final hours before the draft, teams keep things extremely close to the vest, and everything we hear needs to be taken with a grain of salt. But the Raiders trading down is one of the scenarios we’re hearing most.

Waddup Nation. Today is the day! Feel like a kid on Christmas! The first rational 1st rnd draft pick in recent Raider history awaits! Possible trade downs! Slight chance we take the honey badger in the 4th if he’s still available! Jeremy Lin is making my Knicks look smarter and smarter they didn’t pay him every playoff minute he’s on the court (kid looks shook like Mowgli from Gremlins with them bright lights on!) And Russ Smith is coming back to defend the Ville’s title! Let’s goooo!!!!

If Reggie can swing a deal with Cleveland, it would be ideal. Then he could try swinging another swap down, as long as he stays in the top 10-12, he can still get an impact player, and pick up picks from 2 teams.

Reggie won’t pick a TE until round 6. Take that one to the bank.
