Raiders rookie mini camp underway

Saturday is the day that the Raiders permit the media to attend the team’s rookie mini camp. The two other days are closed to the media.
The roster shows 31 players slated to participate. It’s unclear at this time whether all 31 are cleared to partake in all the activities planned for the three-day proceedings.
Access begins in about 20 minutes. We will send Tweets and Twitpics from the field. Beyond that, coach Dennis Allen will address the media after practice, some time around 1:15 p.m. PDT, and select players will be made available for interviews.
Note: We were just informed that media access has been pushed back to 11:15 a.m. PDT.

    To be honest I wouldn’t mind if Parsons would win the starting C position and moving Wiz to LG.
    I know, wishful thinking.

    No, he was the OL coach in Houston, not an assistant.

    No, he was the assistant.

    yes, and he’s never been a full time OL coach either.. and continues not to be.

    Maybe Ray Anderson or whoever is coming in as Team President then?

    Parsons is Adam Treu all over again: OK for pass-blocking, but cruddy for run-blocking.

    I’d think so. lol

    Curious she resigned as I thought she’d be the one to get the stadium deal done.

    Mark can’t, per se.

    I do think Wilson is a natural, I think Reggie did good with both him and Hayden who the prior year were both thought to be definite first rounders – both have the skill to step in and also went through challenging situations last year which would only help them mature.

    ==================

    From what I read, at the North-South practices, Wilson and Conner seemed to be clicking, and that might’ve been what was a factor in signing one and drafting the other – also someone mentioned Flynn was 7 for 26 in pre-season, something of an insurance policy.

  • Raider8

    Maybe Amy can’t stand to see what’s happening to the team. Maybe Mark squeezed her out cuz she failed in getting the stadium deal done.

    We’ll probably never know what the real story is on this.

    #######################

    I read that Wiz was determined to become the best Center that he could, but always thought he wanted to play LG.
    Whatever position this season I hope he makes his Uncle proud. Would love to see Wiz 1.0 back as an assistant.

    ==========

    Curious as she couldnt get a deal done , with ZERO revenue coming in and limited sponsors. They’ll be operating at a loss as their reducing capacity to get sell outs – i havent seen anything like that in major sports for awhile. I think that the Commissioner wanted a shared stadium deal like the Jets-and-Giants, and Santa Clara saw it, and the Niners removed the Niner-Raider Bay game 3 years in advance of a stadium deal and Super Bowl bid.

    Aside from the usual “rivalry stuff” they know that they didnt want that brand taking away from the “perception of distinction” that Santa Clara would have, it also would mean the San Jose market would be shared by the A’s, as well.

    This is business, and i think because Amy blew that (and the proposed Pleasanton stadium site), she was forced out, although no one will admit that.

    I started up the Padron Posse (c) last night.

    Time to get on board.

    He’s a legit dark horse.

    A “legit dark horse” does that mean he’s black?

    Kinda confused.

    Hopefully he unconfuses a lot of people this pre-season. Whole Pryor/Flynn/Wilson/Padron thing is getting very old very quickly. Somebody win the job, outright and get this thing back on track

    You are right. But it is kinda exciting. We definitely need one or two of these guys to step up. We will see all this speculation is about the same as throwing darts at a dart board. LOL

    ======================

    its exciting, because each may bring a different skill set to the table

    Flynn is an experienced back up, that gets a chance to start, but failed to succeed when he was brought in to be a starter – so the “leadership” thing is in question

    Pryor is a wild-cat QB that offers a different dimension of athleticism, but suspect mechanics and instincts, but a lot of work ethic.

    Wilson is a gun-slinger that is tough and had to overcome much adversity.
