Raiders set to host Woodson for visit

By Steve Corkran
Thursday, May 16th, 2013 at 7:04 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Defensive back Charles Woodson intends to visit the Raiders, if all goes according to plan, his agent said Thursday.
Woodson, 36, met with the Denver Broncos on Wednesday, but he left town without a deal. Earlier this offseason, he met with 49ers officials about the prospect of joining their team.
Woodson’s agent, Carl Poston, reportedly told ESPN that Woodson will visit the Raiders on Tuesday. Poston said earlier this week that the Raiders already made an initial contract offer to Woodson.
The Green Bay Packers released Woodson earlier this offseason in a salary-cap move. At first, Woodson said he wanted to play for a legitimate Super Bowl contender. He since has softened that stance as a result of a lack of interest.
Woodson spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Raiders, who selected him with the fourth pick of the 1998 NFL draft. He joined the Packers in 2006 and helped them win a Super Bowl during his seven seasons in Green Bay.
Woodson primarily played cornerback for the Raiders. He converted to free safety late in his Packers career.
It’s likely that the Raiders are interested in Woodson playing free safety, given they released long-time starter Michael Huff, and they don’t have a proven replacement on their roster.

the Minnesota Vikings got their new stadium by raising taxes on cigarettes

I hope Oakland doesn’t raise the taxes on Irish whiskey as I can barely afford it now

    legalize marijuana and tax it

legalize crack cocaine and tax it

    legal prostitution taxes

can you think of anything else we need money for a new stadium

Now there’s another one to take off the “Reggie Victory Board”….Goodson.

Averaged over 6 ypc. (in limited action) but made some big plays and looked like one of Reggie’s “winners”, but like Wheeler…turns out to be just another lucky guess on Reggie’s part or else he would’ve locked him up for more than one yr.

Talent is not the problem & neither is the money situation/cap, nor has it ever been. All these things are simply excuses. The problem is the Leadership and the Coaching.

Well the war on drugs is working if you legalize you can control it

in Australia prostitution is illegal and taxed

they have places called shooting galleries were heroin addicts can go in and shoot up

they give you a clean needle and you furnish the dope and they will help you get off drugs

don’t get caught in that country using drugs the punishment is hard time

  • http://ibabuss.com antispy3

Good thing the Raiders didn’t cast their lot with Mike Goodson.

Arrested with more than 50 grams of smoke & a gun onboard the vehicle he was riding in? Sweet. . .

Chris Kluwe officially a Raider yet?

CWood will be on board on Tuesday. . .the Raiders secondary will officially be in school when he reports with the rest of the vets. . .

  • inonewordraider

legalize everything, me or my kids aren’t smoking crack because it’s legal

but they should give hard drugs away in clinics, my crackhead friends will go and get it

it’ll take all the dealers off the streets, end the “war on drugs”, billions saved alot of which should go toward treatment and education

legalize prostitution taking the pimps off the street keeping the whores and clients safer, lower rape and overall stress levels in males in the U.S. They’ll have to pay taxes

Shonasty, miscast on the Cards 3-4 alignment. . .OLB? Don’t see it. . .besides, he never performed to the level he was expected to attain. . .

Desmond Bryant? The Raiders no doubt sensed his (bad) character issues & opted not to take the risk.

Brandon Myers; product of the system; he was a low draft pick; don’t you think the Raiders can find a larger TE ready to contribute given his learning curve?

Mike Goodson; incarcerated! Since controlled substance issues with the league are a secret no telling what discipline he faces with the league but already the jets are losing confidence in his behavioral patterns. . .free time in NY/NJ. . .yeah, right. . .

Wheeler is the only keeper I can see of that bunch. . .And with new additions potentially he is replaced with a cheaper model. . .

It is a good system if you have the right people in Gov. The problem is this system has been altered to benefit a small group (Corp America) more than others.
1- no private funding for anyone running for a gov position.
2- less taxes on people and more on corps including their profits abroad.
3- gov should not make moral decisions
    That’s a good start.

His unnecessary comments on the field are the type of distraction we don’t need. He’s not even gay because he’s married or possibly he’s a “in the closet” homosexual. You have opinions, keep them to yourself. No need to bring that out to light on the football field. With the way he’s kicking he should be focusing on how to improve rather than gay marriage. If he wants to be a LGBT leader than leave football and concentrate on that. Otherwise shut up and play ball.
