Raiders OTA begins in 30 minutes

By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 at 9:26 am in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders are back at work today as they kick off the second week of their organized team activities in Alameda. Naturally, we’re expecting to see defensive back Charles Woodson in a Raiders uniform for the first time since the final game of the 2005 season.
Woodson signed with the Raiders last week, and he is slated to play his 16th NFL season as a member of the team that selected him in the first round of the 1998 NFL draft.
It’s also possible that we’ll get a look at wide receiver/kick returner Josh Cribbs on the field for the first time. He missed last week’s OTA while recovering from a sore knee.
Beyond that, everyone is expected to be here, with the exception of running back Deonte Williams, who still isn’t eligible to participate because his college class hasn’t graduated yet.
Stay tuned for Tweets and Twitpics from the field, as well as blog posts throughout the day.

Hopefully this means our secondary is vastly improved.

I’m going cup half full here. Hooray for the defense! Give it up for Tarver! woo hoo

Just checked CSN. Paul G’s apparently off the Raiders beat. Too bad. I’ll miss his chats, as they had a more irreverent tone than Cork’s.

    ^^^^^^^^^^

I’m gonna miss Gutty too. A lot of his opinions were different than Cork’s or Jerry’s takes. Not saying that he was right and they were wrong. But it’s good to get different perspectives from the beatwriters seeing the same things.

It’s May. Still plenty of time for Raiders to get the kinks out. Most of these guys never met a month ago

    >>>

Thats the kind of Koolade being passed out when JaMoney was bouncing ten yard passes off the ground in OTAs.

We might have the worst starting QB in the entire NFL just to save 4 million in cap space.

No other way to spin it…

  • guest123

abdominal issue from last Tuesday or Wednesday doesn’t sound like he had bad chinese food. they could have pumped his stomach or something.

no, this sounds (to me) like a muscle tear or something that’s gonna be looked at with an MRI.

  • Al_is_theraiders

so hayden wont play anytime soon…and flynn is svcking it up so much a rook is playing better? keep going shrek it should be quick…

“Rookie CB D.J. Hayden out for rest of OTA’s with abdominal injury”

If you look at the first post on the thread that says “Raider draft CB D.J. Hayden”

You will see me saying “Stupid idea” and a post that follows that says he will not see the field next year due to injuries.

    I called it!

Weak body never heals its always injury prone….all that talk about how he has recovered is BS the guy wanted to cash in and did it!

Thanks RM for continuing the dysfunction in the great 1st round drafting history of the RAIDERS!

I have been a staunch supporter of Reggie. But I was also one of the most vocally displeased on the first draft night.

If Hayden turns out to be unable to play in the NFL, it is cause for termination of Reggie. It was way too risky to use your first round pick on him knowing their could eventually be complications from having your entire chest cut in half.

I’m still holding out hope that everything will be fine though.

C’mon. It’s unfair to judge Wilson. He needs at least 5 or 6 reg season games.

Otherwise ur racist for judging him in practice.

  • bcz24

It’s hilarious that Matt Flynn wasn’t ‘good’ with Seattle to you guys. He completed 72% of his throws. Yeah… that sucks. LOL

I said this on draft day you can go back and look at the thread.

I agree it is cause for termination!

  • nycraider

when will Reggie do something that results in “wow he really made a great pick, trade , or signing”. hope Hayden is alright but so tired of bad news

  • guest123

too early to call dj hayden a first round bust. but, I always thought it very risky by Reggie to draft him with no workout tape, combine, pro day, nothing significant coming off an injury that supposed to kill you.

there’s no precedent for full recovery. there’s not enough medically known or examples of players coming back from that kind of injury.

just too many unknowns to roll the dice like that when the team is hemmoraging needs all over the place.

    But they did.

All 32 team doctors medically cleared him. Most teams were simply worried that his mind wouldn’t be in the game… this latest development is rather concerning, albeit not surprising considering our luck with first round picks.

He still could not win the starting job in Seattle so please stop with your stat posturing, its irrelevant until he is a starter in the NFL!

he clearly wasnt “good” enough you have to score.

Nobody cares about maintaining a high cmp% between the 20′s if you dont put tds on the board

elway was 55% or lower 9 of his years in the nfl, but the broncos scored tds, that is what is important
