Raiders OTA today begins in 15 minutes

The Raiders are back on the field today as they kick off their third week of organized team activities (OTA). So, we’ll be coming at you strong and hard today with Tweets, Twitpics and blog posts to keep you up on the action.
The media are permitted to attend only one of three OTA practices each week, which explains why we don’t report on the two other days. We can’t report on what we don’t see.
So, let’s hope there’s plenty going on today on the field and that we can glean some more insight into how the Raiders shape up as they near training camp and the 2013 season.

What I gathered from the tweets is that the passes were above the WR’s heads, but still went through their hands. Not perfect passes, but should be caught every time.

yes, i believe that a ball going through a receiver’s hands should have been caught…doesn’t mean it was a well thrown ball…but it should have been caught.

Pryor airmails Conner Vernon after several nice throws.

Its one thing to have a beat reporter not be a homer, but jerry is so filled with hate for the raiders its really tough to stomach.

You sure? when a father takes his young kid to ball games, that kid 99% of the time usually end up following the team they were taken to see..`sea of hands` all those big games he was there with his father, dont let Jerry fool you with professional journalism

  • SnBG

HUM, Pryor and Flynn looking fairly good today. Pryor runs better though. Little more athletic than Flynnie baby.

No sign of Reggie McKenzie or Mark Davis at practice today. Practice just ended. Off to chat with coach Dennis Allen.

Plenty of room on the Vernon bandwagon. We’ve got barbecue and cold beer!

Flynnie can move around no doubt but Pryor can fly and throws a better ball then Flynn when they are on the run.

Thec was right. Ford is over Liz Franck.

pryor and flynn will continue to look better and better i would expect. They are learning a new offense along with the wr core.

Im sure there will be growing pains but i expect flyyn and pryor to both show they are capable in the preseason.

At the point the question left in my minds are, who give the offense the biggest potential for tds, and who makes the fewest mistakes. That will be the guy the team responds to most

  • RaiderRockstar

    @Banana

Reggie isn’t afraid to take chances on injured players. The good news is that Reggie is also a penny pincher and Ford makes 3x as much $$$ as all these other young WR’s outplaying him

BigMac’s cheapness might outweigh his affinity toward high risk or injury prone players who shined once upon a time or still have that dreaded “P word” potential

Lol. What does a qb need to do above all else?

    Pass well.

    Not “on the run”.

    Not “extend plays”.

Pass well. Make quick reads and good decisions. Accuracy.

    Pryor does everything else well.

Just not the primary thing he needs to do.

Ford suffers from a bad case of SUCK

  • Raider8

    Ford injured? AGAIN???

This is his career and life. Catch a nice pass then limp off the field for 8-10 weeks.

Stay out the whole yr basically then come back and get injured again.

I guarantee you he will come back and them promptly injure himself AGAIN.

That’s who he is and what he does.

    CUT HIS INJURY PRONE AZZ.

  • rediaR

The only way Ford has a big season is if we cut him and the pats pick him up. Other than that it’s IR.

So the mediots say we have the worst roster, and now Denise only beat out a rookie HC in Buffalo for the worst HC in the league. So, if this is even remotely true, what’s that say about the GM?

So…he gets to use other people’s handles or?

  • RaiderRockstar

    @Raider8

you can’t cut Ford right now, technically. You’d have to make him “waived/injured” and then give him an injury settlement.

wait until he’s healthy and in that 3-day window before he gets hurt again, cut him then.

I tried to tell you guys before the draft that we should trade him for a conditional 7th rounder while he’s healthy!

  • RaiderRockstar

Bill Williamson to replace Zak Gilbert?

lol, that would ruffle some feathers!

  • new improved dr robert now cherry flavored

We kinda know what these guys can do. Some improvement is possible but major changes are unlikely.

Ford? There’s a reason why cribbs was brought in.

    I doubt he makes it.

  • RaiderRockstar

Allen has high hopes for defensive tackles Walker and Sims shoring up the run defense. “That’s what they’re best suited to do,” he said.

    ++++++++++++++++++

Exactly. The media keeps playing up Reggie as being the fixer in Oakland and doing all these wonderful things to rectify what Al Davis did to ruin the team then disses his choice of HC and the roster he put together.

    So which is it?

  • Raider E

Coach Dennis Allen said DT Christo Bilukidi is out with an ankle injury and wide receiver Jacoby Ford tweaked his hamstring last week.

Coach Dennis Allen said the plan still calls for CB D.J. Hayden to return to action at the start of training camp.

“Consistency” is biggest key for punter Marquette King, coach Dennis Allen said. King boomed a 70+-yard punt today, followed by a short one.

Dennis Allen didn’t exactly give QB Terrelle Pryor a vote of confidence
