Raiders WR suspended for four games

Raiders second-year wide receiver Andre Holmes was suspended for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, according to an NFL press release Saturday.
Practice is starting right now, so the release will have to suffice for now:

NFL press release

“Andre Holmes of the Oakland Raiders has been suspended without pay for the team’s first four games of the 2013 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

Holmes will be eligible to return to the Raiders’ active roster on Monday, September 30 following the team’s September 29 game against the Washington Redskins.

Holmes is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games.”

    Other injury news…

Ronald Bartell left Saturday’s training camp practice with a left shoulder injury.
It’s not clear how long Bartell will be sidelined, but he’ll undergo more tests to determine the extent of the damage. He had been working with the first-team defense

    Chargers waived/injured ILB Jonas Mouton.
He’ll go on injured reserve when he clears waivers. One of former GM A.J. Smith’s most bungled draft picks — and that’s saying something — Mouton has given the Chargers nothing since Smith made him the 61st overall pick in the 2011 draft. Mouton tore his right ACL on the first day of training camp.
