McKenzie checking out 49ers-Broncos talent

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, August 8th, 2013 at 6:45 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Colleague Steve Corkran immediately spotted Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie in the front row of the press box, keeping an eye on what was going on during warmups of the Broncos-49ers game at Candlestick Park.

Checking out the Broncos for the Week 3 Monday night battle in Denver?

Maybe a little. But more likely, McKenzie is looking at players for both teams that may not make two of the more loaded rosters in the NFL.

Here’s a link to my story about some things to look for in the Raiders preseason opener Friday night against Dallas.

A link to my story on how Aaron Rodgers helped Matt Flynn develop a thick skin when it comes to outside distractions.

Blog dead for the first preseason game?

  • PlunkforHOF

I’m really hoping the hateful NFLN doesn’t stick with the 4′s in the Cheats/Iggles in lieu of our 1′s. Sadly, I am anticipating that’s what is up.

  • realtruraider

No doubt in my mind thats going to happen and its some bullschit

  • JT

Diference between the Chiefs and Raiders?

Both have ex GB personnel men, but only one of them have a legit coach.

    Guess who.

  • lefty12

Plunk-I believe the game is being taped delayed due to the fact NFLN isn’t starting it until 7:30 but the game starts at 7:00.At least I hope so.

  • lefty12

    The Raiders.Get on board

  • J Hill

I share in the optimism of the locker room.

I think we have a GREAT shot at winning the division.

  • lefty12

The Raiders will play vanilla football tonight.

  • Plunketthead

I agree Lefty. I think that is what is happening

  • Chris in NY

I’m getting the game live or close to it on NFLN at around 10 EST. I realize it’s playing on tape delay out there. You jokers want live updates or should I embargo my comments till y’all can see it.

  • realtruraider

Barkely looks like he has decent zip (a little surprised), but not that accurate so far

  • lefty12

Chris-if someone wants live updates they should listen to the radio.

  • lefty12

Wow,Riddick with a 3 hr game after entering the game with 5 all year.

    Palmer
    4/6, 77yds, TD
    (GULP)

    C’mon Pryor!

    @@@@@@@

No worries. When it means something that TD will be a pick instead. Of course, he will still have the 77 yards to pad his stats.

  • SnBG

Just thought I would mention that Palmer dropped a bomb to Roberts for TD. Perfect pass. Just saying.

  • SnBG

Hey Oak. Iwas wathing the Niner preseason game and Dennis O Donell said the Niners TE was a big drink of water. Hum.
Dennis isn’t gay. What’s up with that?

I won’t dignify that w a response. I’ll just post the definition again. You make the call:

    1. Tall drink of water

    n. 1. A man or woman that is tall, gorgeous, and super delicious. Like on a hot day, a tall drink of water is absolutely appealing.

    2. Old slang for a visually appealing man or woman.
Would you look at hunky man? He is one tall drink of water. I could drink that RIGHT up.

Hrm. Palmer scoring when it means nothing and padding his stats. When have I seem that before? Hrm………

Oh yea, for the last decade.
