McKenzie checking out 49ers-Broncos talent

Colleague Steve Corkran immediately spotted Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie in the front row of the press box, keeping an eye on what was going on during warmups of the Broncos-49ers game at Candlestick Park.

Checking out the Broncos for the Week 3 Monday night battle in Denver?

Maybe a little. But more likely, McKenzie is looking at players for both teams that may not make two of the more loaded rosters in the NFL.

Here’s a link to my story about some things to look for in the Raiders preseason opener Friday night against Dallas.

A link to my story on how Aaron Rodgers helped Matt Flynn develop a thick skin when it comes to outside distractions.

If Kell didn’t call people names and repeat things over and over… If Dr. Narcissist didn’t troll incessantly, if Mistic could let go of his racism, they all are capable of rooting up an acorn of Raider knowledge sometimes.

I like the idea of silver practice jerseys for the offense or defense after each practice, I saw a lot of pride by the DEf to retain the jersey for the next practice.

  • http://asfanradio.com/ Raider Dell

    Inonewordraider,

I gave a detailed report and B@uce also did on our thought on Pryor. To directly answer your question saw a QB completely different. Mechanics, footwork, accuracy, and confidence was remarkable. He also ran the offense, checking out of plays and lining the guys up correctly and calling audibles as the practice was between offense and defense. His throw to Brice Butler was a thing of beauty.

I’m in the camp to let the preseason based on performance be the starter, between Flynn or Pryor, but not the physical mistakes as I believe we will see improvement if he plays, and let’s see what the raiders have as a QB.

Raiders offensive line under Sparano, and the other RB’s not named DMAC.Lets see LT Murray.

    Dline. Who them guys.

Also want to see our QBs. Not a fan of Pryor, hoping Flyyn & McGloin can proove some worth, jury still out on Wilson, even tough I loved that 4th round pick.

Hey, at least we have better backup QBs than the chargers LOL.

I think this running is the most pivotal element of this present team. If they can run we should get adequate QB play. Flynn is a “play it safe” game manager which augments a stout running game perfectly.

BUT that is just the offense in order for games to be won in that fashion you absolutely MUST STOP people. Keep the score down and run run run and throw when you want to. That will be the way we win with Flynn.

Pryor allows us to strike quickly and come from behind to win games. Teams will have headaches trying to devise ways to stop us with Pryor at QB. Because it will never be what they think it is with him at the helm. The minute they think they have us stopped BAM! deep strike or scramble for a 1st down or TD. You cannot prepare for that no matter what you do because Pryor is Pryor unless you practice against him there is no way to prepare for what he brings. The question with him is how quickly can he mesh with our WR’s and TE to move the ball consistently and proficently.

Quite the quaundry huh? Do we play it safe or do we wreak havoc and throw caution to the wind and all out attack. What to do?????????

  • RaidO
