Cowboys up 10-6 at halftime

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Friday, August 9th, 2013 at 8:32 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders turned it over two times, leading to three Dallas points and an end zone interception by Terrelle Pryor preventing an Oakland score.

Quarterbacks Matt Flynn and Pryor each had a turnover _ Flynn lost a fumble on a blindside sack _ and each led a field goal drive. Janikowski had field goals from 40 and 51 yards.

Dallas scored the lone touchdown on a 15-yard pass from Kyle Orton to Cole Beasley against the Oakland second team.

    Flynn 97.5
    Pryor 49.2

and Mcgroin 135.7 but we’re not starting him.
Btw was I wrong about 2 possessions each?

Lol. Bunch of loons comparing QB ratings from limited preseason play.

I let my eyes do the judging, and Pryor offense was much more effective.

I forgot I was talking to the person who said CP was the top 10 QBs of all time.
    My bad.

    Our 3rd string defense sucks.

    Career rating:

    Flynn 92.0
    Pryor 70.8

    Tonite:

    Flynn 97.5
    Pryor 49.2

    Results only.

    No opinions necessary.

I guess you’re a fan of miniscule sample sizes. I’ll trust my eyes instead.

Other statistical comparison. Tonight’s single quarter performances multiplied by 4 quarters:

Pryor: 352 yards passing, 124 yards rushing.
Flynn: 148 yards passing, 16 yards rushing.

Not fair, I know. But no less so than your silly QB ratings comp which of course factors in TPs INT but not Flynn’s fumble.
    *******
    U mean “meaningless yards”?

    It can’t be about opinion.

It can change depending on who ur rooting for.

Qb rating demonstrates how good u performed.

    ——————————-

QB rating is a highly overrated stat. Particularly based on one quarter of play. Meaningless really at that scope.

    @@@@@@@

All I know is that there was a different feeling when Pryor was in. I’d like to see a road game, but I felt electricity when Pryor was in that I didn’t feel w Flynn. Maybe it was the crowd. But it seemed more like the players. I’m anxious for next week.

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Secondary looked good and improved. We have more talent on defense (Roach looked good too), but they need more time. I’m not sold on the DL.
TP made 2 mistakes but he improved a lot. This kid will be a starter in this league.

    ——

Never ceases to amaze me. Streater blamed for running to the open spot in the D and getting put on a Tee, and Flynn was helpless on that fumble.

Flynn can do no wrong, baby!

I thought he did fairly well by the way. No hate. But Pryor moves the ball. Plain and simple.

    you guys are missing something..

Rob didn’t predict that flynn would edge out prior for the job

Dr always wrong predicted pr yor would be moved to a wide receiver or traded before the start of the season..

his prediction was pryor cannot ever learn to play quarterback..

twist and spin all you want.. its just sad
    ***********
Lol. I have says many times that I said some over the top stuff to needle the Pryor Brigade.

I said Flynn would be the starter and Pryor would never be a #1 in the nfl.

    That’s my main argument.

Ur reaching for anything u can to feel I’m wrong and somehow u can laugh like a hyena.

I haven’t been able to watch much much I will on the replay.

Won’t be able to weigh in in how well Pryor “looked” until then.

    But his results were subpar.

    ——————–

How so? Completed 60% of his passes (2 of 4 incompletions were wisely thrown away). Averaged 8.8 yards per pass attempt. Averaged 10 yards per rush.

He made one bad decision and it cost them a FG. Other than that, very impressive. I’d rate his performance a 9 out of 10.

Go look at last years qb ratings for the league.

Then tell me it doesn’t basically rank who’s good to bad.

All of the great qbs are at the top.

All the marginal ones in the middle.

All the garbage ones at the bottom.

Production counts. Opinions stink like a holes.

Exactly. No one is bashing Flynn, but lets not make excuses for him, and lets not downplay TP’s improvement.

    IMO:
    Pryor > Flynn
    Murray > Jennings at RB2
