Late day for Raiders today, practice didn’t start until 2:50 p.m.
Defensive end Lamarr Houston, who has been out virtually all of August, was back at practice today in full pads. Also returning was guard Lucas Nix, who is competing with Tony Bergstrom to be the starting left guard and has missed the last two sessions with an undisclosed injury.
It was the first training camp practice for linebacker Billy Boyko, an ultra-long shot to make the roster even before he came into camp with an undisclosed injury.
Cornerback Tracy Porter, who did not complete Monday’s practice, was not present as practice got underway Tuesday. Defensive tackles Pat Sims and Vance Walker, the presumptive starters, also were not practicing. Jacoby Ford is doing squats in the weight area.
— Veteran defensive end Andre Carter was a late arrival to practice and appears to be getting a veteran’s day off, as Woodson did Monday.
— The temperature as practice began approached 90 degrees, about as high as its been this season during a moderate camp in terms of weather.
