Running back Darren McFadden was on the field early working with injured players and not on the field as the club went through warm-ups preceding the Raiders’ preseason game with the Chicago Bears.
McFadden came out of the New Orleans game with a shoulder injury coach Dennis Allen said wasn’t serious. McFadden was on the field for practice session this week, but it’s not known if he saw any contact. The Raiders went into their regular-season mode, so the media was excluded after warmups and drills.
Others who won’t be playing include safety Tyvon Branch, defensive tackle Pat Sims and offensive tackle Menelik Watson.
One player who will be playing is first-round draft pick D.J. Hayden, who is suited up and presumably ready for his first live football action since last November, when he suffered a near-fatal practice injury when a blood vessel leading to his heart ruptured.
