Pryor….a 9 QB RATING It is much tougher playing against the other teams #1s….Vrs the #2 and #3s that Pryor had been playing against.

I Understand why people get so excited about him…Unfortunately he is just playing out of position…He has enormous Talent but not a QB..
    ……………………………………………

Ford is playing our of position.

Ford is not a wide receiver.

I have the sinking feeling this will be like the JaMoney or Gradkowski decision on route to a whopping 5 win season.

I soo wanted Pryor to step up and win the job because Flynn is so horrible.

    Alas…

    @@@@@@@

5 wins seems like a miracle considering what I’ve seen the last 3 weeks. I think we have a better chance of Moses being resurrected and parting the Red Sea again next Tuesday than we do of winning 5 games.

    >>>

Yup… the NFL is coaching and QBs.

    We have neither. STILL.

I thought the new guys were supposed to FIX all this?

Seattle ran the same counter play EIGHT TIMES.

And it worked every single time.

    WTF?

    Tarver! Tarver! Tarver!

But he shut down KC last season!

Kasa is going to be good. Wilson should be safe to stick on PS. Watson is looking good all things considered. We now wil have a legitmate set of tackles once Veldheer returns. I’d still move Wiz 2.0 to LG & use Garode at center. Keep Nix at RG. That should resolve our O-line problems.

Hmmm, Carter could be interesting. Personally I’d rather throw out Bass or Robinson on those passing downs currently assigned to Carter.

Well, with $50 million in dead money, this may be a full-on “Take Your Medicine” season. Whatever. Might as well get it over with now and have a clean slate (with Clowney or some other big young talent) in ‘14.

It was Cork’s opinion that the take your medicine year should have been LAST YEAR.

Maybe, but as the great philosopher Dave Mustaine once said, “Hindsight is always 20/20″.

What kind of D coordinator lets that happen?

One that’s not on the field to make tackles?

How does Seattle manage to be so dam loaded with the salary cap?

  • devilr8er

Sad day in Raiderland when we are arguing between a 7 or 9 rating for a QB. Wow we just hit an all time low.

    Barron is a worthless POS!!!

  • shutdown

shutdown has a very simple system when it comes to global crisis during a Democratic presidency in the U.S.

If the president doesn’t act, shutdown will call him a wuss, a tree hugger, a pacifist, say he makes American look weak, etc.

If he does act, shutdown will burn his flag, call himself a libertarian, demand this tyrannical president just end the wars and bring our boys home.

I’m a big Seattle fan this season! Anything to keep the 49ers from winning. :)

  • Bigmike34

I thought McGloin looked pretty good ….I don’t know his stats but he just looked like he knew what he was doing…I also think Wilson could be a QB…I would try to sneak him onto the Practice squad for a year..

I say again, I think when that entire Defense gels it will win us some games.

“I have at least two reasons not to go with Pryor in a throwaway year: McGloin and Wilson. If I’m going to invest in the future it’s going to be in rookies that show as much as a 3rd year guy with a track record of inability to digest the playbook.”

Might be a lot of empty seats, but you know, I have to agree. These two have arms and playing them could lead to dividends. With TP, you know his limits.

    ====

The $50M in dead cap money is money that mostly is not being paid this season. It’s almost all accelerated cap hits that is already a sunk cost. Paying $50M less than other teams pay this year buys a lot of empty seats and still keeps you profitable as a business.

The Raiders brass all know that the first two years would be brutal as they fixed the cap, dealt with thin draft pools, and also broke in a rookie GM and coaching staff. A good businessman will invest a few bad years to build a profitable machine if he inherits a pile of crap that he can turn into gold.

Mark Davis himself said he’s more of a business man than a football man. In a way, he’s saying that he can make this team better from the P&L inwards than his father could from the talent first and make it work this year philosophy could do.

I believe in the long term business plan as the right way to go. I’m old enough to understand that a few years of patience is but a drop in the bucket if that turns into several years of dominance following. Stay the course and reap the rewards a few years from now.

Tom Flores just said Pryor gives the best chance to win.

    ——————

    I concur.

Also, it’s apparent our season is not going to hinge on the experience of Seabass’ holder. Stick with King and let him become the next Lechler/Guy. His holding skills will get there soon enough.

Thnkfully I did not watch this game in tv with friends and family. My shame in the team’s performance was just on my own laptop.

On the flip side–its just preseason.

Still want to see all my starts and a non-vanilla defense that has been in the works!!!

Easy DJ. We kept some projected starters in there a while, but we didn’t even start our starting OL or McFadden, and swapped out our D starters pretty quick.
Are Seattles back ups better than our back ups? Hell yes!
Did Reece even play? Brice Butler didn’t even go.

2803. Yes, but expectations are extremely low, just like the Art Shell/B&B season.

Agreed. Either Reggie mistakenly thought we were a SB team last season, or he has no CLUE what he is doing.

Both indicates he has no clue what he is doing.

How soon before the Al-haters figure this out?

The word last week was the reason we came back in the second halves is because we have better backups than everyone else.

Guess the entire team sucks now…

Basically, you don’t realize how behind they were with the cap – them cutting away the players they did ; Seymour, Routt, T.Kelly, tells you they kept us in games and the draft failed the Raiders. They basically have to start all over again; Hayden, OT Watson, and a few others have to be complimentary pieces to Clowney and a bunch of free agents in 2014.

    Folks

Try to remember there is really no game planning for these Games (especially the last pre-season game)

When the Season Starts in Our next Game…our Opponent will have been broken down…Their good and their bad…and we will have a plan to go after them…Last night we were looking at where we are Individually who stays and who goes…

As you saw Seattle is Very good….and I thought our Defense played very well against what is surly a S.B. Candidate…We are not there Yet…but it is encouraging to know they they got from Middle of the pack to where they are today in 3 years…We can do that to..

  • Bigmike34

It is insane how the Sports reporters covering the Raiders think Pryor is a better starting pick over Flynn….If you were touting one of the other two as future Franchise QBs…I could be more likely to at least give long consideration to that….I would
they both show some promise…for the future but NOT PRYOR…He is very gifted but he just doesn’t have what it takes to be a QB.

    Sorry I should have been more precise…Flynn has a 70.3% completion Rate…..19/27

Pryor has a 53.13% completion Rate 17/32 This pre-Season, He really is not a good accurate passer…

NOTE: Pryor “until Yesterday” has had the advantage of playing against 2ond and 3rd stringers…Flynn has been going against the #1s….He had all or most of the Reps ….the game plan was only for him….He had an ideal opportunity to show his stuff…and he did…with a 9.9 QB rating….
