Heavy on TE, QB, and P.

    Light on OL and LB.

    94-E,nice observation.

But why would you guarantee these guys salaries by keeping them on the roster?

  • the famous dr robert

Veldheer to reserve and one P gone so that makes room for another OL and LB.

With the 2 punters and 4 QBs that Raiders are doing what I was talking about yesterday. Keep the players on your roster that have the most potential value to other teams, even at the expense of depth in other positions.

It’s all about investments for the future at the expense of this year, since it’s already been thrown away. If all they end up with is a couple 7th round picks from the extra QB and K, that’s two more 7ths than they started with. They can be packaged in a minor move say to jump up a few spots in a 3rd or 4th round to get a player they want.

Any ammo is good ammo in this mode. As much as I like a WR like Vernon to make the squad, the reality is he’s not exactly in demand around the league off waivers. If they want him back on the PS, he’ll be there. Can’t say the same about McGloin, Wilson or even one of the punters.

    Pretty much how it looks.

so Sims is the best pass rusher on the team now?.. great.
way to take care of our biggest need

RM must be hoping he can sneak a QB,a TE, and a punter onto the Practice squad later in the week when everyone’s rosters are set.

This is more of a move for the future which says that the future is his biggest concern.

As it absolutely should be. It’s a 4 year plan. It takes 4 years to get back to excellence when there has been more than a decade of deficit spending going on.

This is just the start of year 2. Fortunately, Reggie doesn’t suffer from fan impatience.

It takes him about a minute to drink a 40.

we have been a mess since 2002. hard to argue that.

however i did think we turned a corner when we were a DOMINANT run team under cable…i loved watching that team…then w/hue we were a dynamic well balanced offense…also fun…

i was not a big fan of dumping hue but im over that…

so yes weve been a mess since 2002 with a 2 year holiday for us ailing fans (from 2010-11) assuming of course 8-8 can be thought of as a respite!

then again, relative to 4-12 yes i guess it was. sad but true!

Raiders want a draft choice for one of their punters, Kluwe or King. Remotely possible any team would do that?
    Chris Kluwe ‏@ChrisWarcraft 8m

@SI_PeterKing I say yes, but I’m probably biased. We’re both pretty darn good.

btw u r delusional if u think this 4qb 2 punter nonsense is going to net us ANY draft pics

do u REALLY think the other 32 teams think we wont cut or put them on the prac squad (where they can then sign/steal them from us). just wait us out! this ‘slick’ move accomplishes Z3R0!

    another stupid move

meanwhile those 2 slots are filled and we CANT address the MULTIPLE needs we have all over the field on both sides of ball exactly at the time we need space and to move QUICK (ie tonight!).

    sorry, u see genius, i see stupidity…

  • tuckrulefool

    oops other 31 teams…

    Flynn to Green Bay might.

Each situation is different. Some teams can get back on track in one offseason and others it can take more time and some NEVER get back on track.

You get as good as u can as quick as u can with the resources available.

You expedite the process by getting the right guys.

Whoever said this was year two of the rebuild I hate to burst your bubble, but rebuild starts in 2014. These 1st two years haven’t been a complete waste but we were down so low and some of the growing pains so huge that we are really at year 0.

To compound matters, the MO is out on RM now. Every GM will be looking to eat his lunch. The moment the Raiders mentioned Flynn having tendinitis, and keeping 4 QB’s his bargaining power went right out the window. Everybody will sit back and wait, until he becomes desperate and gives up a good deal.

how do you “see” it? Do you see the $40+ million in dead money from the Al era that prohibits us from signing big names?

Do you see the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounders starting? The young WR talent? The cap space for next year? The plan?

What exactly do you expect? Julius Peppers, Mario Williams, and Aaron Rodgers here?

  • willy91137

Were going to have put Flynn out there so he can show what he has

if we get some line help and give them some time he will look good

and trade him away if not 6 1/2 million dollars retirement fund for Matt Flynn

  • Bigmike34

If you start Flynn…See what he has…and he can’t move the Chains and Score and Win… you can then bring Pryor…with Much less pressure on him…

If you start game 1 with Pryor and he is horrible WHICH HE IS CAPABLE OF BEING…Then what….FLYNN gets the gold ring….all he has to do is come in a be OK…and the job is his

    Flynn to Green Bay might.
GB does need a development QB…Flynn is Past that Age…He is NOW, either a fully trained and Capable starting NFL QB… or he is not….and GB does not need him

  • Bigmike34

we are into Flynn for 6 to 8 million …NO MATTER WHAT….Does it make any sense at all to just sit him on the Bench and at the end of the year send him on his way with the Money….

Note: it is unlikely that Pryor even knows what real Game planning is….and he can learn that from Flynn in the QB room….(I really doubt your last QB took Pryor under his wing and shared his knowledge)
