Raiders sign OT Tony Pashos

Share

The Raiders added another tackle to their thin offensive line Monday with the addition of veteran Tony Pashos.

Pashos, 33, has played in 89 games with 67 starts with the Baltimore Ravens (2003 through 2006), Jacksonville Jaguars (2007-2008), San Francisco 49ers (2009) and Cleveland Browns (2010-2011).

He was an offseason addition with the Washington Redskins before being released.

Pashos started 12 games for the Browns in 2011 and 31 of 32 games for Jacksonville in 2007 and 2008.

With the Raiders waiving Alex Barron to make room for Pashos, they still have only three healthy offensive tackles. The other two are starters Menelik Watson and Khalif Barnes.

Jared Veldheer is out following surgery with a torn triceps and is eligible to be , designated for return list Tuesday, meaning he will miss a minimum of seven games. That would open up an additional roster spot.

    …..Derek Carr.

  • elraidmanhattan

Listen, Carter was a damn good player for years, quality and character personified, but he is done.

  • Al_is_theraiders

Carter at his worst is better than anyone on the line right now with the exception of maybe Houston.

  • elraidmanhattan

    Cespedes home run. Yes!

  • itzSteve

So with everyone being so worried about both the offense and defense, I have a question…what percentage of the O and D playbooks do you think we saw in preseason? Did anyone see any runs besides a straight dive into the line or a few inside traps on offense. The same with the D…the only blitzing I saw was pretty vanilla. I think they only showed maybe 25% of each side of the ball playbook.

  • Marks hair

everyone plays vanilla in the pre season. it’s about highlighting and winning individual matchups. and across the board we struggled

  • Al_is_theraiders

255….everyone is playing vanilla…. Even opposing teams.

  • itzSteve

no way you can tell me Rob Ryan was throwing a vanilla D at us…no way New Orleans was throwing a vanilla O at us…that fricken play action throw back to the TE in Seattle they ran all night is not a vanilla play either…

New Orleans did the same thing last year in preseason.
First preseason game, I think against the niners, N.O. blitzed and blitzed.
Pretty ignorant, especially considering that same team knocked them out of the playoffs later, smiling.

    raiders vs colts

the key to this game in my opinon will be the raider offense vs the colts defense.

the colts are awful at stopping the run I expect a healthy dose of dmac coming down hill right through the heart of the sof colt under belly.

this and play action passing should be the plan. I dont think the colts will be able stop the running game or pryor keeping unless they sell out with 8-10 in the box.

I would also like to see pryor attack with quick perimeter passes to bring the dbs up as well.

Once the colts are locked in trying to stop the runing game and quick passes hit them with a double move and go deep

the colt pass defesne is leaky as well and they can be had. i like the match ups of reece moore and streater and dont think the colts defenders are good enogh to stop them

im anticipating the colts loading up expecting the pistol and pryor runing like they saw in our preseason.

the colts will struggle with pryor when pays break down, ej manual torched them with scrambles and i think pryor will be even better on the scramble than manual is.

on the other side the colts live and die with lucks passing. while our secondary is much improved, we dont get pass rush, and that is lucks kryptonite. Im not concerned with colts runing game at all.

what ever defense can stay fresh will when this game in a shoot out final score will be around the mid twenties for both teams

or if either qbs has multiple turn overs it could also swing the game”

this is a game we can steal with pryor, we have no shot with flynn

My chick loves him, and we both get to watch on the red carpet this season.

Johhny manziel is will not be on my list.

he is a noodle armed hot head idiot that thinks he beat the ncaa.

im mean the guy is rubbung his fingers toghether in the ‘i get money” sign, and bows past his coach while sumlin is trying to speak to him on the sideline after a taunting penalty!!

this guy doesnt read defenses and runs at he first hint of pressure

he is not an nfl qb by a mile, and i can see him being a complete washout if any team gives him millions as thier top draft pick.\\

again suspended for a half only to be benched in the same game you served a suspension?!?!?

this guy is a world class dumb azz and better get his travel agent to book him in canada where he may have a career
    —————————-

Totally agree. If Manziel gets drafted high 1st round (which he won’t IMO,2nd round at the highest) that team that takes him will have a over rated headache on their hands. He will be out of the league in 3 years. Plus skills wise the dude is a mess. Tiny (he is NOT Russell Wilson) Weak arm, throwing off back foot across the field etc…and since leadership is a skill IMO for prospective NFL QB’s,Manziel gets a big -10 in that dept.

Teddy B is the best of the 2014 class and I’d take Brett Hundley,Tajh Boyd,Marcus Mariota,AJ McCarron,Aaron Murray,Derek Carr,Logan Thomas – any of these dudes over Jokey Manziel.

How do I know TP is going to start and do well this year ?

Simple. I know what I’m watching. I don’t base my opinion on meaningless stuff like a QB rating with only 8 passes thrown.

That’s for know-nothing guys that think they’re doctors, when in reality they’re just blowhards.

I saw 3 passes from TP this pre-season that convinced me (and hopefully Tits) that he can throw well enough to be our QB.

There was the completion to Holmes on 3rd and 8 for a big first down inside the 10 yard line.

There was the bullet to Rivera for a nice gain.

There was the back-shoulder toss to Dmoore that unfortunately was dropped.

Those 3 stand out, but there were other glimpses as well.

The seam throw to Kasa for a TD on 3rd and long.

Even the the 3rd down incompletion that would have been a first down if Mastrud makes the easy grab on the opening series in Seattle.

    Those were NFL throws.

You’ve got to know what to look for.

Anyone that says TP didn’t play well in Seattle bcz he had a 9 QB rating doesn’t know his azz from his elbow.

It’s TP time, and time for all the clowns that ruled him out to eat some crow.

    I love it.

It’s not about being right, chest thumping style. It’s not about being able to say I told you so cuz he sucks cuz I said so. It’s not about calling someone a moron because they like a particular player.
It’s about supporting the team. Allen may be a taco short of a combo plate, but he is our HC. Just as it was Reggie and a staff decision to go with Pryor, we must put aside petty name calling and support the Raiders.
We are gonna go with Pryor. That is great news. Let the games begin. Go Raiders.

Sad thing is that Geno is a good deal smarter than Pryor and does a better job reading. He generated more of his success in college sitting in the pocket than he did running. He has much better mental tools to adapt to the NFL than Pryor does. Sorry if you don’t like that answer.
