Reece locked up for three more years

Fullback Marcel Reece has signed a three-year contract extension, the Raiders announced Friday.

Reece, who made the Pro Bowl last season, was to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Raiders could have as much as $50 million available under the salary cap next season and are likely to make a run at other players in the final year of their contract such as defensive end Lamarr Houston, left tackle Jared Veldheer and running back Darren McFadden.

“It’s another step toward my goal _ being a Raider for life,’’ Reece said in a release.

Hey England, how is it over there?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

A really great summer man. But now we’re back to the rain.
But heh, it’s the way it is.
It’s all part of living in a country where there’s a pub on every other corner.

  • JLofty

Manhattan, can ANY women in that city cook?

  • lefty12

The faster we re-sign Houston and Veldheer the better.I wouldn’t be surprised if one doesn’t get signed he will be franchised.

  • JLofty

Franchising Houston would be a HUGE cap hit. I think one has to pay the franchise player top 3 money and for a DE that ain’t cheap.
Houston is good but he is not top 3 good…

77- don’t see any correlation with the flynn helping dmac, sorry disagree.

    ===

Watch Manning (either one) manage a running game. Go watch how Gannon made the Raiders running game dominant in his era. Even though he didn’t pass well, look how well the Bills ran with Fitzpatrick and his monster Wonderlic, regardless of the RB. A cerebral QB helps the running game.

If you want to argue that Flynn isn’t smarter than Pryor then there’s really no use in discussing further.

  • elraidmanhattan

J-believe it not yes, had many dinners prepared by my dates, usually after the 3rd date, some dinners were bad. When i offer they know what dessert is. But, seriously they love it and if you have the right kitchen, and great views a big plus…

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

The guy we should worry about is Veldheer.

  • JLofty

Zymurge I cannot comment on Flynn’s intellect but he didn’t show much of ANYTHING to me in preseason.

  • elraidmanhattan

Zmurge- flynn is smarter than Pryor?

Anyway look at the scheme, also please let me expound here both mannings have always had significantly better oline men then we have had now, if you want to down to the nitty gritty and dissect that aspect i am ready.

  • SnBG

A good Oline is a runners best friend. That’s the biggest issue we have right now. I don’t care who the QB is.

  • elraidmanhattan

England what part of england do you live?

  • elraidmanhattan

The giants have been very adept at drafting oline men, always has been back to parcells, same with denver,

  • JLofty

@109: Gannon ALSO had a SUPERIOR OLine in his tenure to make that running game click.
But to compare Peyton Manning or Rich Gannon with Matt Flynn is laughable. I got nothing against Matt Flynn but he seriously looked awful in pre-season for the most part. I am not blaming him for looking awful just what I saw…

  • SnBG

The Niners have maybe the best Oline in the league and they drafted two of those guys in the first round. The Oline has to be a priority along with the D line.

  • elraidmanhattan

Zymurge please go back over the last few years and check denver, indy, giants drafts and oline development always been a priority, like the Steelers with lbs.

England got it, majority of my favorite current music faves are british, my heart is there!

  • SnBG

It’s a world of difference from the games Flynn played when he was with GB to playing with the horrible Oline of the Raids. It’s to early to say Flynn can’t play. He had no help, plus he was injured. Look at Pryor. He doesn’t have a lot of help right now so he has to run around a lot. If Pryor wasn’t so athletic he would be sacked all day. We can’t run the ball and our receivers are still having a hard time.

  • JLofty

ENGLAND : “it’s still true that the reason that we won was because of Pryor.”

THAT’s what I was referring to in my post 87. Willy typed it, that was funny…

Why are you putting a cast iron skillet on a hot grill. That defeats the purpose. If you use a cast iron skillet put it over fire. If you want to cook fish on a grill then put it on the grill without the skillet.

If kaluka is out, any chance we activate the other McFadden on defense? Since OLB is thin with sio’s off and on injuries and burris out only other option is the other burnett.

Well you’re taking the smoky flavor away from the fish so grill you onions on the side and put the fish in a grill fish basket that allows you to turn the fish over . Then. baste the fish with lemon and butter as you cook it. Also make sure you season that fish well with salt and pepper. If it’s a whole fish then put the salt and pepper in the cavity and the slits you cut on the skin and outer body of the fish.Season well.

I guess bcz messaged me that Reece’s deal is 13 mill with over 7 mil guarnatee!

  • Raiders for life

    Hwnrdr
Hope that’s true. Reece has been a great Raider and deserves some of that good NFL money. Good for him.

  • the famous dr robert

They lock Reece up. Great. Fantastic.

But they don’t use him. Instead they ride the broken “race car” DMc. Even though its obvious he sucks now.

DA chooses the WORST passer on the team. The most mistake prone.

DA says stupidly that he doesn’t care where the rushing yards come from, as long as they get them. He sounds like some of the idiots in here.

Hey dummy. Put an effective RB in there and I will have EVEN MORE yards running.

He sits there and smiles at his presets like he thinks he has a plan.

I don’t see a plan. I see a “hey let’s put in the black qb and see what happens. Maybe we got one of those new guys too” attitude instead of a coach who can tell what the fvck he’s looking at.

17 fvcking points and we are giving smart little grins to the press?

A defensive guru who can’t seem to get his defense to start and finish?

He’s got about two more games to prove it ur I’m done with him.

I haven’t seen a good decision that approaches his bad ones.

  • the famous dr robert

If this keeps up, we will be drafting 1 or 2.

I hope bridgewater or Boyd or whoever is a legit top qb.

This season is looking like its gonna be historically bad.

I’m starting to question Reggie and DA big time, based on their decisions.

I’ve been supportive but I’m getting antsy.

If Pryor can pass, then we are golden.

But so far, I don’t see it.

C’mon kid. Do the improbable and I will love u forever.

  • the famous dr robert

    Hitler or missdick?

    1) believes that a certain “race” is inherently evil and genetically/socially inclined to be the downfall of “his people”.
    2) believes “his people” have a generic predisposition to superiority.
    3) distrusts and suspects all people from one “race” as “the problem”.
    4) is obsessed with “his people” gaining power.
    5) uses propaganda, lies, and word games to spread his hate.
    6) believes in wiping out all of his “enemies” instead of seeking peace.
    7) desires to see “his people” rise up and conquer.

Anyway, I’m sickened by all of the racist allegations just due to a qb who happens to be black but might not be any good.

I’m sickened by the position it puts people in, where they have to gingerly not “offend” people like missdick and priest, in order to not have mud slung at them and for fear of being called a bigot, when there is no evidence of it.

I will be happy to have a black qb. If they can pass.

    That’s it.

Treat him right, pay him and let him KNOW we want him around for the future.

138- a surreal experience for me i lived directly across the wtc, my complex if you want to check it out, was gateway plaza the first development in that area, my ex also lived in the complex, suffice to say we were basically out for 2 to 3 months, my daughter was in the elementary school 2 blocks away, my ex wife and i due to no cell service were frantic we found out where our daughter was about 3 hours later, i found out about 4 days later that my dog was rescued, and saturday we were allowed access for 10 minutes to collect belongings, my 2 cats were hovering in the closet. I can’t even begin to tell you how devastating the experience was, and how many people died that lived in my complex and worked in the wtc
