Raiders work out WR today, Kluwe gets tryout elsewhere

By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 at 5:30 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders worked out wide receiver Joe Adams on Tuesday, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Post.
Adams, 23, appeared in nine games for the Carolina Panthers in 2012. He has not played in any games this season.
The Raiders just got back wide receiver Andre Holmes from a four-game suspension. They don’t have to make a roster move until Monday, though they have to do so by Saturday afternoon if they want Holmes to play the next day against the San Diego Chargers.
There is some speculation that the Raiders will release receiver Juron Criner because he hasn’t been active for any of Oakland’s first four games.
That doesn’t appear likely, though, because the Raiders still view Criner as a player that can help them at some point down the road, if not this season.
In other news, punter Chris Kluwe worked out for the Chicago Bears today. Kluwe signed with the Raiders this offseason and competed against Marquette King for the right to replace long-time punter Shane Lechler. King won the job, and Kluwe was released just before the regular season started.

I gotta run East, pick up later

    Flynn was never beat out.

DA has completely botched the qb situation entirely.

Not a player’s fault when an idiot is the HC.

DA has shown time and time again that he’s a complete moron.

Meanwhile, Reggie has traded for and drafted qbs that are now 3rd and 4th string.

There’s a serious disconnect between Reggie and DA.

I can see DA getting fired at the bye with a 1-5 record.

  • RealTruRaider

I don’t even think I commented to this fool today, lol

  • Piratical

    Er, new post

  • SnBG

Broncos O line is ranked 3
Steelers Oline is ranked at 24.

    Who’s playing better.

  • RealTruRaider

    Sure, whatever

  • RaiderDirt

Should the Raiders give up a fifth.rounder for MJD??

  • the flynnatic dr robert

Tony Sparano could be the HC in a couple weeks

  • RealTruRaider

Nah, he won’t be able to run behind this oline anyway, just wait until next year

  • Blackholepriest

The coaches aren’t but you are. TP is starting because he is hands down the best player we have at that position. .”….period

They know he has the best chance at becoming the face of this franchise…….period

That kid has not even scratched the surface of what he can become as he the game starts to slow down for him you’ll see his natural skill set come forth. He playing off the seat of his pants right now because this staff underrated him and severely overrated Flynn.

  • the flynnatic dr robert

Btw, Flynn being demoted does nothing to change the fact that Pryor is awful.

I hope he gets a lot better.

  • eastoaklandraider

Nobody came out with all that hype like Manning did, and he is called the greatest Qb of all time by many, so yes to back up that hype he needed to win 3 or 4 and its not gonna happen. Dont forget Troy Aikman he won 3 also.

  • GimmieAMilk

He better fix the Oline first!

  • the flynnatic dr robert

Bobby Knight: “If rape is inevitable, u may as well just sit back and enjoy it.”

  • Follow The B@uceman

Struggle? Flynn played awful from every stand point of the game….He had his shot and now its over…He will be working for LSU in a few years……7 sacks and a few turnovers didnt equal nada but embarrassment

  • SnBG

DA went with the guy that would give us the best chance to win with this shyt Oline. In a different situation Flynn may not be as bad as he seems right now. There isn’t enough tape on Flynn to say one way or the other.

  • GimmieAMilk

Hell yes! MJD would be an improvement hands down!

  • The_Judge37

Is that why Flynn took a Knee on 4th and Inches?

  • RealTruRaider

WOW, you in the docs camp, clueless and don’t know a damn thing about Football. Did you not watch the game??? It wasn’t all on the oline and that was obvious

  • eastoaklandraider

Its about SB wins not going to the playoffs or just making it to the bowl and your beloved Manning and all his skill players just managed 1. LOL you lose, but you dont have a problem with finishing second do you.

  • the flynnatic dr robert

    Matthew Broderick in “The Freshman”:

“There’s a certain freedom in being completely fvcked.”

U don’t have to stress about it. Just watch it happen.

  • SnBG

    7 sacks says a lot.

  • GimmieAMilk

He could’ve avoided 3 of them!

  • SnBG

You’e right he is the best QB we have right now but that’s because he can run away from the shyt Oline. They and we don’t really know how good Pryor will be.

  • The_Judge37

Wasn’t one of those sacks recorded when he took a knee on 4th and Inches

  • SnBG

A sack is a sack. Why should the QB have to avoid 3 sacks. 3 is to much. This line sucks. Period.

  • SnBG

Pryor can avoid some of the sacks but who will be open for him to throw it to.

  • eastoaklandraider

    new post guys

  • GimmieAMilk

Looks like Rivera is a baller!

  • SnBG

How many sacks are against this Oline and how many more would there be if Pryor didn’t run for his life. Get a clue. 7 sacks in one game is horrible.

  • GimmieAMilk

Does Sparano have anything to do with this?

  • Mistic1 Tha Supavillain

Pryor is also the superior passer and by far the more complete qb. trying to minimize it into prryor being the choice due to flaws on the team rather than just being the best player is very suspicious indeed

  • Seymour Bush

I think Flynn should get another chance. He’s looking better on his throws, and TP can’t seem to hit the broad side of a barn. Why wait?

  • SnBG

It’s about the talent on the Oline.

  • GimmieAMilk

The way things are going, Flynn will get that other chance!

  • KoolKell

You got a missing link alright.

  • KoolKell

Seymour Bush, please explain to us “stupid fans” how you read Matt Flynch so wrong?

  • Ronin559

Flynn ran out of bounds twice when he was behind the line of scrimmage, thatcounts as a sack. That is a sack that should never be taken, just flip the ball out of bounds. The boomerang was a terrible throw to a covered receiver, most of Flynn’s completion were check downs to the RBs. He was trigger shy and late
on throws, could have avoided another 3 sacks if he had thrown the ball when he was supposed to as receivers were making their breaks to get open.

  • nikemike7

might not be 1-15……but may be not too good. lotta probs.

  • nikemike7

U R exactly correct. Any QB wouldv’e struggled. Why don’t people get that ? Seriously.

  • otomis

When he did throw he had nice velocity and accuracy. He just held the ball way too long. I’m very proud of the O-line, considering they are “patch-work” they are doing a pretty good job when most would consider them scrubs at best. I think they are holding up very well and bode well for depth once the injured recover and the draft and FAs start showing up.
