Raiders work out WR today, Kluwe gets tryout elsewhere

By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 at 5:30 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders worked out wide receiver Joe Adams on Tuesday, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Post.
Adams, 23, appeared in nine games for the Carolina Panthers in 2012. He has not played in any games this season.
The Raiders just got back wide receiver Andre Holmes from a four-game suspension. They don’t have to make a roster move until Monday, though they have to do so by Saturday afternoon if they want Holmes to play the next day against the San Diego Chargers.
There is some speculation that the Raiders will release receiver Juron Criner because he hasn’t been active for any of Oakland’s first four games.
That doesn’t appear likely, though, because the Raiders still view Criner as a player that can help them at some point down the road, if not this season.
In other news, punter Chris Kluwe worked out for the Chicago Bears today. Kluwe signed with the Raiders this offseason and competed against Marquette King for the right to replace long-time punter Shane Lechler. King won the job, and Kluwe was released just before the regular season started.

    Ok, to bad for Flynn.
I wish DA had a little more pi$$ and vinegar energy and excitement on the sideline. A team reflects the energy of their HC, for the most part, and if you look at some of the good teams, it is pretty evident.
DA needs to lead with confidence, energy and look like he is in a game he knows how to manage.

  • MistaBrown

“Per a source with knowledge of the transaction, the Raiders have adjusted Matt Flynn’s contract to increase his guaranteed money from $2 million in 2013 to $6.5 million. All $6.5 million is fully guaranteed.”

Dropping knowledge is what I do

  • Seymour Bush

    Don’t you mean dropping loads?

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    Dakota?

  • marks hair

is that the adjustment we made to his salary in the off season or is that a new thing?

  • Al_istheRaiders

    bwahahahahahahah
    bwahahahahahaahaha…..

flynn has now lost the backup spot….great pickup shrek.

  • SnBG

The players say he is very intense. He’s fairly cool on the sidelines. Nothing wrong with that. How about getting some more talent

  • MistaBrown

Hey its _Mista_ trolling on seymour’s screen name.

Way to smash a cross posting troll, I mean be a cross posting troll

  • http://raiders.com/ Crawfish Joe

It’s serviceable, like we thought Flynn was, but I like the old one better, especially with the time and date stamp and the post # and the scroll effect. But yeah, it’s not bad considering. The pic posting is cool.

  • RaidingTexas

I don’t buy that energy/excitement stuff. Rarely see outbursts from Belichick. Or Fisher. Tom Landry? Did you ever see anything but complete calmness from him?

  • KoolKell

    Yes, always do.

FYI – I was just kidding with that Vic Tafur tweet. Didn’t mean to bring on the Apocolypse.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Dakota?

  • Just Fire Baby

6.5 is more than Russell Wilson , Colin K, Terrelle Pryor, Ryan Tannehill and EJ Manuel’s COMBINED SALARY.
Seriously, I just did the math, and you still have about a millie to play with.

  • RaidingTexas

That was a salary cap maneuver. By converting to bonus, they could spread it out over multiple seasons. It opened up space to sign additional players.

  • The_Judge37

    Huh? I don’t get it

  • eastoaklandraider

    its growing on me

  • Thec

Agreed…Best feature is you can minimize a posters post.

Good for mitigating guys that waste a lot of space.

  • MistaBrown

please stop being intelligent and logical when I am trolling

  • Follow The B@uceman

    Flynn 3rd stringer

  • KoolKell

Seymour Bush will soon be lecturing the “stupid fans” for dropping Flynch. 3rd string.

  • SnBG

No it’s not. The big money is in the guaranteed cash. That’s peanuts for a QB.

  • Just Fire Baby

Still frustrates, and I have issues typing in the box and freezing and stuff.
    But improving I guess

  • marks hair

flynn down to 3rd string? just put him on IR for his tendonitis already..

  • RaidingTexas

Oh I get it. 666? Why do you stoop to his level?

  • Seymour Bush

Flynn is a rookie, that is learning each and every week. He deserves the same learning curve as your boy, TP. When he tears this league up, you, Misty, BHP will be gone with the wind. You’ll be blaming DA, instead of the owner of a 9.9 qb rating.

  • Thec

    ROFLMAO…….

  • Just Fire Baby

Nah….then you can’t force him to practice.
We got to get SOMETHING for that 6.5 mille. Make him hold and throw to the rookies in practice.
    SOMETHING

  • MistaBrown

That is not the real seymour B@uceman its _Mista_ trolling his screen name the real seymour used lower case

  • RaidingTexas

It got rid of all the copy and paste to keep conversations going. Some people still do it, but it’s unnecessary now.

  • J Hill

The GM was going to spend some $ on the QB position.

That guy would have been beat out by Pryor too.

  • SnBG

Flynn is getting peanuts. Seattle paid him the big money.
    1. Eli Manning, New York Giants: $20.85 million
    2. Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions: $17.82 million
    3. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos: $17.5 million
    4. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints: $17.4 million
    5. Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers: $17.11 million

  • Thec

this actually sucks the news about flynnch.

The “braintrust” wasted valuable money on this jaggoff.

  • JLofty

My wife must’a said four times “wtf is it with girls wearing shirts that short?”

I tried very hard to keep my shut. Was probably unsuccessful. …

  • Seymour Bush

TP is the missing link. It’s up to you to figure out which link that is. Does not look like the sharpest cookie, does he? How many years does someone need before they actually can learn the playbook that rookies learn in year one?

  • r8eray

    Dakota the prankster!

  • MistaBrown

This is _Mista_ trolling seymours screen name the real seymour has lower case letters not cpitol

  • SnBG

You want to talk mistaken money lets talk Revis. QB money for a corner. C’mon.

  • marks hair

just move flynn to ps rb..

  • http://raiders.com/ Crawfish Joe

Those guys are much better, still, Flynn was unproven. Rivers might be a stretch due to his meltdowns.

  • GimmieAMilk

    Trade McFadden NOW!

  • Just Fire Baby

I was firmly in the boat of keeping DA and Reggie,up until last weekend.
For DA, the inability to manage end of game and half situations is mind-blowing, and just too much on the job training for me. I am not looking for a guy to get it in year 5. His defense has improved as well as the penalties, but not enough for me, for now. Always subject to change.
Same thing with Reggie. The complete lack of passion from Flynn was alarming. Forgot the talent, how could you look at that stooge and think he is a leader of men? And then how do you push him? You give him a fkn raise!!!! Unbelievable.
And his top draft picks stink.

  • SnBG

It’s to early to say that.

  • Just Fire Baby

lol…it’s done man, he will never suit up again.

  • Seymour Bush

And you will be telling us all about a fake trip you’re going to take, and then try and explain how it is you set a flight record for time in air. That was some massive egg in faceplant for you. Glad I could help expose your lies.

  • GimmieAMilk

What the hell was the baboon eating/smokin when he offered $6 mil to Flynn?

  • GimmieAMilk

Flynn looked like Wylie Coyote in the backfield last Sun.!

  • SnBG

6 mil for a backup QB isn’t bad. Especially when you thought the Oline was going to be OK. That’s why Reg signed him. He saw what Flynn did in GB and hoped all the parts would jell.

  • http://raiders.com/ Crawfish Joe

TP is learning a new book this year.
He got a late jump on it, say 4th week of preseason?
    He’s fine.

  • RaidingTexas

He didn’t get a raise, JFB. You’re making stuff up now. He got $26 million for three years from Seattle. The contract was restructured to convert salary to bonus, but the total amount did not change. Seattle pays $4 million of his bonus this season, too.
