Raiders work out WR today, Kluwe gets tryout elsewhere

The Raiders worked out wide receiver Joe Adams on Tuesday, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Post.
Adams, 23, appeared in nine games for the Carolina Panthers in 2012. He has not played in any games this season.
The Raiders just got back wide receiver Andre Holmes from a four-game suspension. They don’t have to make a roster move until Monday, though they have to do so by Saturday afternoon if they want Holmes to play the next day against the San Diego Chargers.
There is some speculation that the Raiders will release receiver Juron Criner because he hasn’t been active for any of Oakland’s first four games.
That doesn’t appear likely, though, because the Raiders still view Criner as a player that can help them at some point down the road, if not this season.
In other news, punter Chris Kluwe worked out for the Chicago Bears today. Kluwe signed with the Raiders this offseason and competed against Marquette King for the right to replace long-time punter Shane Lechler. King won the job, and Kluwe was released just before the regular season started.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

The five guys you mentioned are all on the rookie salary cap (and only two of them were even first-rounders). For veteran QBs, especially ones with a 6-TD game in their resumes, Flynn’s not getting paid that much.

  • marks hair

when another team is paying for your new quarterback to leave their team it’s a bad sign..

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

And we now know Stormbringer’s new alias. Don’t you racist idiots ever get tired of spewing your garbage?

  • JOn Wooah

6.5 for a crappy qb.. or 6.5 on a Defensive FA or Offensive?? u decide.

  • RealTruRaider

    No…..no its not

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

You can’t place a player on IR without their consent.

  • GimmieAMilk

Good lookin baller and gangsta too! Rivera for starting TE damn it!

  • RealTruRaider

He is getting WAY overpaid, its not even an argument

  • SnBG

Orton got 10 mil to be a backup for 3 yrs.

  • RealTruRaider

Those guys are starters fool, look at 3rd string QB salarys genius lol

  • SnBG

Henne got 6.75 mil for 2 years as a backup.

  • SnBG

How about an Oline, then the crappy QB can play better.

  • RealTruRaider

ummm, you are not the sharpest cookie??? lol, (I don’t like my cookies sharp, but maybe thats just me) anyway, you makin schit up again, just admit you have been wrong about damn near everything

  • Just Fire Baby

He got a raise this year, and they fully guaranteed the money. Yes his salary goes down next year in the offset, only we won’t be paying that of course.

So we gave him a 1.25 million raise this year. This is fact.

    http://blog.sfgate.com/raiders/2013/04/02/raiders-restructure-flynns-deal-guarantee-all-6-5-million/

  • Blackholepriest

Mistic1 there is no way to minimize that mistake by Reggie you simply cannot make mistakes like that and arrogantly condescendingly act as if this organization is blessed to have him. A 4th and 5th and 6.5 mill when TP was in your lap. He just wouldn’t listen until TP played week 17 and he still did had he forced DA’s hand to play TP the final 3 games like he said he may have been able to see enough not to do it. However at that time he was soo arrogant about GB players he may have done it anyway.
What bothers me more than anything was his arrogance coming in here thinking garbage from GB was better than steak here.Ttheir treatment of players here was bad and to be honest it serves him right.

The man said even if Hue had made the playoffs he would still fire him. Come on man who did he think he was???

  • The Beeeeech Dawg

Bros just had a major musical break thru. You’re all going to freak the heck out. Krappy, you’ll be filling those overalls with man mud when you hear this. Sorry old timer, but thems the facts :)

  • RealTruRaider

Well he will still be on the books next year, unless we cut him this year (his cap# would escalate once we cut him), thanks to Reggie and that 2nd restructure job

  • Just Fire Baby

Dead money is at about 1.65 according to rotoworld, but at least we don’t have to give him anymore cash.

  • SnBG

Now hold you’re water my man. Pryor hasn’t done anything yet. The book is still out on him also.

  • RaidingTexas

Trading for him was a bad move, no question. But the restructure was a good thing. They freed up cap space for this season.

  • RealTruRaider

He beat out Flynn, thats the point

  • eastoaklandraider

Cam gets about 6.5 a year, not talking signing bonuses talking yearly salary.

  • RealTruRaider

    Thats nothin

    - Flynn

  • Just Fire Baby

In fairness, Al said the same about Cable.
Both were fired due to personal conflicts with the boss.

  • SnBG

It’s to early to tell whether any of these guys are busts. That Oline sucks so bad no one can play behind it.

  • Just Fire Baby

It was unnecessary, it really only “freed” up about 2 million dollars, and then we get a dead money hit next year when we cut him.
And we gave him more of Mark’s cash, which isn’t in abundance.

  • RealTruRaider

You haven’t been watching the games huh???

  • SnBG

What’s up Justin. How are the whitebread burbs treating you.

  • GimmieAMilk

Freakin Oline is horrendous! WTF Sparano?

  • eastoaklandraider

C’mon man it was a bad signing period.

  • SnBG

Seattle is far more on the hook for Flynn than we are.

  • Al_istheRaiders

another shrek swing and miss….@ some point you have to admit he is not the guy for the job….

  • RealTruRaider

    Christopher Hansen ‏@ChrisHansenNFL14m
Flynn converted much of his base this year into bonus to give the Raiders cap relief. That means even bigger cap hit next year than I said.

    ————————————————

Who were the fools arguing with me Sunday??? LOL, you were WRONG

  • Just Fire Baby

The O-line is always the excuse.
How is it that the Bronco’s can get guys off the streets that seem to be fine, yet our guys we draft stink?
Go read some Greg Cosell stuff. The QB makes the O-line in pass protection. He breaks it all down.
Hell Peyton with his pre-snap crap and cadence change, buys his O-line a fraction of a second every play as the D-line NEVER gets a good get-off off the snap.
    Wisen up people!!!!

  • the flynnatic dr robert

Seems to me that DA is scapegoating Flynn. Scrambling to buy time.

He changed qbs after preseason, after Pryor stunk.

DA did something I’ve never seen an nfl coach do after a game, which is throw his backup qb under the bus, to try divert attention from his own major gaffe.

Now he buries Flynn, so he can throw his arms up and say, “I have a developing qb. What can I do?”

Too bad for this org that DA has so botched this qb situation.

  • eastoaklandraider

true but doesn’t take away from the fact that he wasted 6.5 mil.

  • RealTruRaider

    Once again :)

  • Just Fire Baby

Seattle is done with Flynn, they haven’t wrote him a check in 10 months and took all the dead money hit this year.

  • Blackholepriest

Flynn is 3rd string just soo they don’t have to cut him. They just cut the 4th rndr he drafted. The only way he survives this is WIN!!!!!………….period

  • RaidingTexas

I could care less about Mark’s cash situation. His dad blew it. Oh well. my parents didn’t leave me sheet either. Welcome to the 98%.

$2 million is only part of the equation. You do this with multiple players to free up enough to sign someone like Woodson.

  • JLofty

    “Wisen up people!!!!”

That’s like telling people in a donut shop to eat vegetables…

  • RealTruRaider

Nah….nah not really, at least they suckered somebody to give them a draft pick, you think Reggie can do the same???

  • eastoaklandraider

Not everyone can have a PM, YOU NEED TO WISEN UP TO THAT.

  • SnBG

    Tell that to Big Ben

  • the flynnatic dr robert

@TerrellePryor: Matthew 5:15. Let your light shine so other people can see the good works. Powerful

I have no real choice now but to hope the kid shocks me. But I will root for him, even though I doubt he can do it.

  • Just Fire Baby

Flynn got a 6 mille signing bonus, and 2 mille in salary in 2012. Nothing from them in 2013.
So yes they paid him 8 to our 6.25.
    Big whoop
