The Raiders worked out wide receiver Joe Adams on Tuesday, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Post.
Adams, 23, appeared in nine games for the Carolina Panthers in 2012. He has not played in any games this season.
The Raiders just got back wide receiver Andre Holmes from a four-game suspension. They don’t have to make a roster move until Monday, though they have to do so by Saturday afternoon if they want Holmes to play the next day against the San Diego Chargers.
There is some speculation that the Raiders will release receiver Juron Criner because he hasn’t been active for any of Oakland’s first four games.
That doesn’t appear likely, though, because the Raiders still view Criner as a player that can help them at some point down the road, if not this season.
In other news, punter Chris Kluwe worked out for the Chicago Bears today. Kluwe signed with the Raiders this offseason and competed against Marquette King for the right to replace long-time punter Shane Lechler. King won the job, and Kluwe was released just before the regular season started.
