Still no McFadden, though Reece looks better

ALAMEDA — Running back Darren McFadden is nowhere to be seen on the practice field today. Rashad Jennings is the one taking all the reps with the first-team offense in case he is the one called upon against the San Diego Chargers.
McFadden left the game against the Washington Redskins after only five carries on Sunday. He suffered a hamstring injury earlier in the game and wasn’t able to make it past halftime.
On the bright side for the Raiders, fullback Marcel Reece (knee) looks as if the knee he injured against the Redskins isn’t bothering him too much, if at all.
Cornerback Charles Woodson returned to practice today after he missed Wednesday’s proceedings for what coach Dennis Allen termed a non-football reason.
Center Stefen Wisniewski is on the practice field today. However, he is just watching as his teammates go through their paces.
For now, Andre Gurode is the starting center as long as Wisniewski isn’t able to play. Lamar Mady is the backup in the middle.
Allen and the Raiders are hopeful that Wisniewski will heal well enough and in time to play against the Chargers.
Rookie Menelik Watson is taking reps at left offensive tackle today, with the second-team. Khalif Barnes still is the starter at that position.
Once Watson returns, it’s conceivable that he will push Barnes out of the left tackle spot, with Barnes moving either to right tackle or one of the guard spots.
Wide receiver Andre Holmes is practicing for the second straight day as he works his way back into form after a four-game suspension.
The Raiders have until Saturday afternoon to decide whether to activate Holmes to the 53-man, active roster. If so, they need to cut a player to make room.
If Allen opts to go without Holmes for the Chargers game, the Raiders have to make a roster move Monday if they intend to keep Holmes around, which is likely.

You mean they throw to Streater in practice?

  • 10centsworth

    No doe.

When they showed the shot of McF using the baseball to roll out the knot in his hammy you just knew it wasnt going to end well.
I’ve used a tennis ball and it about crippled me. Baseball? That is one big azz knot.

    smh, blasphemy

  • Miamiraider78

Hello Mr. P! How fast are those lamas and how soon could it learn an offensive play book?

  • http://www.raiders.com/ Drexl

I’m not seeing Reg move on a knucklehead/doper, doesn’t seem to be his style.

  • Miamiraider78

    Not even a conditional, JFB?

  • Just Fire Baby

I would be really surpised if we brought in Freeman, but I wouldn’t be completely against it.
Just think he needs to bottom out. Clearly there is some personal issues going on, Shaun King a longtime friend even hinted at some drug issues, a few weeks ago prior to the latest news.
And plus, he really isn’t even that good.
Another Mistic appointed Wave guy who face-planted.

  • 10centsworth

When men were men. I can remember watching games in the 60′s/70′s. Guy gets hurt, knee/leg. Drag him off. Camera zooms in, Doc is sticking a 6 inch needle into his knee. Two plays later…back on the field.
    Yeah, I went OUCH…but WTH.

  • Just Fire Baby

They weren’t making the same money. McFadden can walk away, be smart with his money, and barely if at all work again.

  • Just Fire Baby

Conditional sure, but he is hurt and on his way to FA.
Don’t think he is going to meet many “Conditions” by the end of the year.

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

NONE of that is true about Freeman.

  • 10centsworth

Didn’t like that? We got an institution at Raider Hqs, Jim Otto. Ask him if he’d do anything different. He WILL tell you he didn’t want his son to do it.

  • Just Fire Baby

Wake up bro, he is clearly having some personal issues.
Whether it is one thing or the next, it is happening.

  • KoolKell

Yeah, tell us about your face-plants?

    Romney, Knapp, Palmer, Flynch. Gtfoh.

  • RealTruRaider

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit, we have a UDFA rookie as the 2nd QB, plus he knows Olson’s offense

  • Mike_Trail

Pryor is no ChoirBoy either–everyone makes mistakes..Greg Schiano is a verified documented A-Hole who thinks Biff from Back to the Future was the hero of that movie. Some coaches are just d!ckheads–Schiano is going to get fired at the end of the year. Mark it.

    Drunk already?

Bit early even for a derelict such as your self.

  • RealTruRaider

    lol

  • Just Fire Baby

    Flynn and Palmer?
When did I get behind those? I told everyone all year Flynn would get hurt and Pryor would start, so why was everyone crying in the preseason.
And I was like the biggest Palmer basher on here. Same thing the day of the trade for him.
Tried to rally behind my Raider QB for a few months, but ditched him ASAP.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Yeah, but we’ll be blessed with his afternoon nap earlier, as well.

  • plunkhead

I think he will float around for at least 5 more years showing flashes of what could have been every now and then. Never been cut on.

  • 10centsworth

I said when men were men.

  • Just Fire Baby

I said as soon as the season ended, I would rather have Pryor start than Palmer. Said Pryor WILL start this year, since it is his year previous to his contract year.
And said Flynn WILL never last in the NFL health wise.
    It’s all well documented.

  • Just Fire Baby

I don’t disagree in a sense, but that’s all over life now, not just in football.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Show it to me in the archives.

  • http://www.raiders.com/ Drexl

Biff?” That made me chuckle. What a perfect analogy.

  • 10centsworth

Yeah, who cares about standards, values, and ethics any more. After all, got the three car garage to pay for.

  • Mike_Trail

Ha! Schiano to Freeman: “Now why don’t you make like a tree….and get outta here…..”

  • 10centsworth

leave? bark? shed? root? branch? Something…

  • Just Fire Baby

    Preach

  • 10centsworth

Elect me and I’ll tear up all the streets and get after those nuns.

  • r8rwill

I will say it again when our line is healthy we will ball big time, it’s going to be awesome…..l can hardly wait….

  • Just Fire Baby

LOL…..worked pretty damn hard the last 14 months to not be labeled a Palmer “face-planter”.
    All for not apparantely.

  • 10centsworth

    naught. just sayin…

  • plunkhead

That’s fine and dandy but can you build a stadium with OPM?

  • 10centsworth

I can wear a towel on my head and hang out at the Oasis with the best of ‘em.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Don’t remember you being a reluctant supporter at first, but you did jump ship early on. The Cult of Palmer kept tabs on these things.

  • Jay Wiggle

    PHUCC Josh Freeman!!!!!

  • Mike_Trail
  • 10centsworth

    I guess he was joshing.

  • Goldie7

I look forward to watching Rashad Jennings being our RB Sunday. Its really sad about DMAC getting hurt every season. Anyway, I am thrilled that Reece may play on Sunday, we need him without a doubt. Thanks Cork.

Get Watson on the field NOW
