Oakland struck quickly on its first drive, then moved methodically to score again on its second drive in a successful first quarter.
After San Diego’s first two plays netted it 0 yards, Usama Young picked off a long Philip Rivers pass and returned it 25 yards to the San Diego 44. Terelle Pryor immediately connected with Rod Streater for a touchdown.
The Chargers’ next drive stalled at the Oakland 40. After receiving a punt, the Raiders drove 88 yards on 13 plays, taking 8 minutes, 8 seconds off the clock. Pryor completed all seven of his passes, culminating with a 2-yard touchdown pass to Denarius Moore.
