Raiders 27, Chargers17, final

By Steve Corkran
Sunday, October 6th, 2013 at 11:39 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders’ DJ Hayden and Charles Woodson intercepted Philip Rivers on San Diego’s last two possessions to secure Oakland’s victory.
Rivers drove to the Oakland 4 with less than two minutes remaining, but on a third-and-goal play, Hayden produced his interception in the end zone.
Woodson grabbed an interception on San Diego’s final possession to end the threat.

woodson has definitely added an edge to the defense.

I thought computers were around well before the 1930′s.

  • eastoaklandraider

    Roach, Knee to the head.

  • aig

As Dan Fouts said all nite, you can’t defend the indefensible plays. Imagine what TP can do with a real OL and more weapons around him. skys the limit for this kid.

  • the fiendish dr robert

    chinese calculator?

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    Why? you a fan?

  • http://raiders.com/ Crawfish Joe

    You must be new here.

  • the fiendish dr robert

the oline and weapons are fine. he played great. for a half.

then not much. moore and streater and rivera and reece all made plays.

give cred where it’s due and don’t blame everyone else.

pryor is judged on his own play.

  • Reggie Fangaz

My man, any of us that has ever played sports on any level has imagined those final moments when you lead your team to victory. When you have a shot to win and don’t, at that moment it’s on you if you make a mistake. Romo made a mistake that cost the game and even HE can’t make excuses for it.

  • aig

Glad to see DJ got his first int. Rivers said he was focused on CWood and missed DJ. When the game slows down for DJ, he’s gonna be awesome. I predict by the later part of this season.

  • http://raiders.com/ Crawfish Joe

    No monitor. Doesn’t count.

  • the fiendish dr robert

sure it counts. it’s a calculator. that’s what calculators do.

  • aig

Give it up dude. You’re the same dude that said the Oline was fine when TP was in there all wk prior to the Skins game. I told you all the Oline is horrid and masked by TP’s scrambles. Your boy got killed like I predicted he would.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

He was right there! Monitoring everything.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Isn’t there a word for that?

  • turf toe

No need to apologize here, Isaac. Frothing, primal anger is the norm.

  • eastoaklandraider

The oline is not fine come on dont go off the deep end.

  • the fiendish dr robert

flynn held the ball too long for sure.

but the oline was not very good that game. and losing dmc and reece guaranteed a big pass rush.

  • LondonAl

I’m in two minds whether to agree with your comment. That’s for dr. rob’ and his schizophrenia comment.

  • Isaac Miller

I’m with that. But I like to be more positive. Maybe root for the team that I grew up with and see the positives and, yes, the growing pains. After these last 11 years you have to feel good about the direction the team is going in, no? As a coach I hope you don’t instill this “anything less than perfection is failure” attitude in your kids…

  • the fiendish dr robert

they are doing pretty well. there is nothing u can blame on them tonite.

  • RealTruRaider

Yeah, he blamed everybody but flynn and before that game he wouldn’t blame anybody but Pryor hmmmmmmmmm…. but the doc did take some baby steps today so………………………..

  • eastoaklandraider

Could you imagine Pryor behind some of those Gruden lines in the early 2000′s

  • the fiendish dr robert

not true at all. i definitely blamed flynn for the pick and for struggling to find his receivers.

and i have said pryor had been pretty good on the short stuff.

i call it like it is.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Forget the rest of the noise. We do have some sit down, whisky drinking, figuring out to do. Many anomolies here.

  • Isaac Miller

Been here for 4 years. Only post on Sundays cuz that’s my day off. Old format I was known as Chef Sac. I also get a lil faded on game days so it makes for heated convos…

  • Alex7

definitely would have time to throw, but still curious what he’d do with that over a full season. If he doesn’t have a great outing next week, we’re talking about 1 great game out of 5 =(

  • the fiendish dr robert

there is a difference between analyzing a game with ur staff and what u show the kids.

  • Papertiger

    NEW POSTS!!!

  • RealTruRaider

You wouldn’t be saying that if Flynn was QB tonite, that would of been ugly once again

  • aig

That Gruden Line of the SB year was the best in the league. They destroyed Tenn in the playoff. I believe in Tony Sparano. He will build us a good line.

  • eastoaklandraider

It just seems that way with Pryor back there, if it was any pocket passer back there SD would have had 10 sacks.

  • turf toe

He doesn’t have to. Alex will do it for him

  • the fiendish dr robert

eh. he takes off unnecessarily too.

the oline was not to blame for anything tonite.

the sacks partially but that was a lot on pryor, same as it was on flynn.

  • eastoaklandraider

Any Pocket passer from Brees to Brady to Manning would have taken at least 7 sacks tonight behind that ratchet oline.

  • aig

You’re so frickin annoying. Picking on a guy with 5 starts. Even the best QB in this league and prob GOAT of the reg season started 1-4 4 tds to 12 ints. Oooh he can’t play. look at his below 50% stats in some college games…Wasnt that what you said for a long time about TP?

  • the fiendish dr robert

sounds like ur defending flynn, cuz other than the pick and the sacks, he did well.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    Love your optimism.

  • the fiendish dr robert

i gave quite a bit of the blame for the sacks last week to flynn.

  • RealTruRaider

Your kidding….right??? You obviously didn’t watch game, just read box score???

  • aig

Even with TP back there today they gave up sacks again. But keep trying.

  • RealTruRaider

    No you didn’t, nope

  • eastoaklandraider

You just talked about how good the KC D is, and with this oline of course he’s gonna have a tough day, but we’ll see what he’s made of.

  • the fiendish dr robert

don’t be stupid. take away the pick 6 and the sacks, and his production was good. if u can’t admit that, then u are blind with agenda.

  • the fiendish dr robert

like flynn, pryor held the ball too long and couldn’t find his receivers.

    his 2nd half was bad.

  • RealTruRaider

I WATCHED the damn game like the rest of the NFL world, HE WAS HORRIBLE, man you are clueless or just trollin

  • eastoaklandraider

He did well? ok i’m done.

  • Isaac Miller

I can respect that. Same schit with my cooks. I guess I’m baffled because, regardless of the fact that Pryor gives us the best fighting chance with this O-line, has incredible talent running the ball, has improved his accuracy two-fold since his first start, posted the best QB rating against the best team in the NFL, has posted over 110 ratings in two games this year, is still only 24 years old (with room to grow) and you still bag on him?

  • the fiendish dr robert

    yes i did.

i said his pick 6 was bad and he struggled finding his receivers, and that he had quite a bit to do with the sacks.

but the line also struggled more last week than they did this week.

  • the fiendish dr robert

u don’t know what ur looking at. without the sacks and the pick, he passed pretty well. look at the numbers. ur blinded by ur agenda. no objectivity.
