Raiders fill vacancy on 53-man roster

Rather than add a third quarterback, the Raiders signed veteran defensive tackle Daniel Muir to their 53-man, active roster Wednesday.
This comes on the heels of the Raiders working out 13 players Tuesday, with none of those being Muir. Three of the 13 players worked out are quarterbacks — David Carr, Trent Edwards and Pat White.
It seemed logical that the Raiders would use the roster spot on a quarterback after they released veteran quarterback Matt Flynn on Monday.
For now, though, the Raiders are moving forward with Terrelle Pryor and undrafted rookie Matt McGloin as the only quarterbacks on their active roster. Rookie quarterback Tyler Wilson is on the team’s practice squad.
Muir, 30, played in 46 games for the Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets during his first six NFL seasons. He started 26 of those games.
The Raiders also re-signed offensive tackle Jack Cornell and placed him on their practice squad.

California mandated a minimum sentence of 25-to-life so long as the first two felonies were deemed to be either “serious” or “violent”. Unfortunately, California did not require the third “strike” to be serious or violent to qualify for a life sentence, and people could easily be given this enhanced sentence for minor penalties. In addition, the list of crimes that count as serious or violent in the state of California is much longer than that of other states, and consists of many lesser offenses that include: firearm violations, burglary, simple robbery, arson, and providing hard drugs to a minor, and drug possession.[

Jennings injury isn’t severe. He should be back. And DMC as well. C’mon now they’re hamstring pulls not torn ACLs.

May I suggest…get over the hangover. Get on board. Experience what you see, quit analyzing. Even when they lose, do we see kick butt football and attitude out there? Soak it up.

DK. CB? I coughed up my Geritol.

YOU are the guy doing 45 in the fast lane, huh?

Carr is a terrible fit. he’d be a statue behind a bad line. He’s been on the bench for the past 6 years meaning he’s super rusty. A rusty statue is worse than Flynn.

May I suggest.. Allow me to have my opinions while I respect yours? If I quit analyzing I become as ignorant as the fans that collectively and consistently yell obscenities at whatever team we play just for the sake of doing so. THE CHIEFS ARE 5-0. There is a reason for that. Just as there is a reason we are 2-3. We lack many aspects of the game that could potentially compete with the factors that have benefited the Chiefs these past weeks. And that is what I see. Even when they lose I still hoist the silver and black flag over my pride. You’re attacking the wrong guy.. and it seems you’ve misunderstood my lack of enthusiasm for negativity.

True. But what if Matt McGloin goes down, then what? We need both QBs to stay healthy.

Well said. I’m humbled and you are correct. Stop analyzing? I can’t believe I said that. Keep on keeping on…

Your acquiescence is admirable. Thank you for that. We are all apart of the same Raider Nation.. Stay up meu freund.
