Looking good for McFadden, Jennings vs. KC

Running backs Darren McFadden and Rashad Jennings were participants in practice for the third straight day Friday, making it likely they’ll be available when the Raiders visit the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

McFadden missed the Raiders’ 27-17 win over Denver with a hamstring strain, while Jennings left the San Diego game with a hamstring strain after 10 carries for 41 yards and did not return.

Having both running backs ready to go Sunday would give the Raiders a better chance at winning for the seventh consecutive time in Kansas City against their AFC West rival.

Kansas City, 5-0, has one of the NFL’s top defenses, but has shown more vulnerability against the run (ranked 21st) than the pass (ranked fourth).

In a 26-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, who have a mobile quarterback in Michael Vick and run some of the same option type runs the Raiders use with Terrelle Pryor, running back LeSean McCoy ran for 158 yards against the Chiefs.

“We want to be balanced and we want to be able to run the football,’’ Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Thursday. “We feel confident with both those guys in there being able to do it. If we have both, I think it will help us out tremendously.’’

Center Stefen Wisniewski (knee) was not at practice and will probably be ruled “out’’ later today, with the Raiders allowing him to heal up over the bye week. Tackle Menelik Watson (calf) and strong safety Tyvon Branch (ankle) were also not present and won’t make the trip to Kansas City.

Linebacker Kaluka Maiava, who was limited with a hamstring injury sustained the previous day, was on the field but not practicing during the media window.

I want to see some ghost motion bootlegs.

It creates 3 different weapons the defense has to account for.

    Impossible to stop.

    DMC up the middle.

    Ford on the end around.

Houdini on the bootleg to either run or hit Streater across the middle.

    IMPOSSIBLE to stop.

    ok…

Start Jennings. Trade McFragile for a cheese sandwich.

  • 10centsworth

May I suggest using our FB, nee RB, Reece more? MAKE them assign a LB to him. I think the only attention DMac gets is from the safeties.

  • 10centsworth

    you’re welcome.

  • 10centsworth

LB on Reece. LB on TP. THAT opens the running game.

  • Just Win Baby

I predict that if McFadden has more than 10 carries, he will suffer a season ending injury, thus ending his career in silver and black.

Do you shear llamas? Charge the kids to pet? Sell the meat to Bucco di Beppo? Take Chinese tourists on a Dalai LLama ride?

    No problem.

  • Just Win Baby

…..when he isn’t getting his customary 1/2 yard gain into the middle of the pile? Dude has NO vision.

McFadden missed the Raiders’ 27-17 win over Denver with a hamstring strain,

    Damn, so did I.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Does anybody even read these posts?

  • 10centsworth

Hamstring? I thought you had llamas?

  • 10centsworth

Aha. You DO have one named Dolly, huh? So predictable.

Brahs, the Dawg here, checkin’ in from the bathroom at Bucco Di Beppo, Universal City Walk.

Lunch didn’t go as smooth as planned, to say the least. Took on look at the spicy chicken rigatoni and instantly charged for the toilet with a doody landslide pressing on my taint

Unleashed heck, then noticed Skid Row up and down my tighty whities

Anyway, just sitting here sweating like a madman and trying not to pass out, thought I’d catch up on the Raiders

What’s new with our special teams?

Off the subject, but I have noticed using the words a n a l and a n u s in response to your posts gets me deleted by the moderator.
    Go figure.

  • hwnrdr

Woohoo…counting down…55 minutes til I get to leave this place! :)
Anyways, I still say if we beat KC, we can be at 5-3 at the halfway point with Pitt and NYG coming in next!

  • Raider_Riff

That looks like 7-3 to me.

    Full control of our destiny.

And a much healthier roster by that point.

  • hwnrdr

Woops, sorry, forgot about Philly as well!

  • Chuck

Watson is very talented but he can’t put together 2 straight practices.

Nothing wrong with your sense of humor. Tough talking Raider talk with a guy who makes it clear he’s at work.
“Good question. I’ll ask that next week”.

  • Guest

Tough talking Raiders when the guy you’re talking to makes it clear he’s at work.

  • The Beeeeech Dawg

I’ve got about 55 mins left on the pot, hopefully my leg cramps will be gone by then

It would be hella embarrassing to get wheeled out of Bucco Di Beppo on a stretcher

The Lawg has worked to hard to have his rep tarnished by something like this

  • hwnrdr

Government worker? No…I start at 5 AM

  • hwnrdr

    LOL

10centworth; you sound like a hater. A guy with a bad job and life pointing fingers at others for no good reason.

  • 10centsworth

Think about the old guy outside the potty with the runs. Banging on the door while you think it’s just another Rap in the making.

  • 10centsworth

Just kidding. Dealing with the government I’ve never noticed the difference if I was sat at an empty desk.

  • CJ Legend 34

Man it would be nice to have Branch for this game. To bad he got hurt. This D came together Sunday night. Hope they got enough juice for KC.

  • Papertiger

I’ll give him a pass because he got surgery after aggravating the injury during the preseason.

Our O-line needs the bye week in the worst kind of way.

  • Theghostronin79

    Vic Tafur ‏@VicTafur 1m

McFadden was asked if the game was today, would he play. “I would do my best to go out and play,” he said.

    —————
    doesn’t sound too promising

  • Raider_Riff

    8-3 then.

  • Papertiger

Maybe he can borrow Jennings’ hyperbaric chamber?

  • CJ Legend 34

Time for DMAC to have a big game aginst a real talented D. Jags don’t count! Marcus Allen could have suited up for that game.

  • 10centsworth

I picture Butkus’s response to that question.

  • CJ Legend 34

    LMAO you may be right!

  • 10centsworth

I’d love to be 8-3 at the halfway point.
